Thank you for sharing these beauties. One of my daughter's loves orchids, but can never keep them alive. This is a wonderful idea for a gift for her. lovely work
I learned crochet decades ago but never really took to it. I’m rediscovering it now and am loving it. Your tutorial is by far the best and easiest! Thank you so much x
I love it that you call them Quadruple crochet stitches! I have never understood the logic of calling them double-triple crochet stitches, and always refer to them as Quadruples! or Quads for short. This is a lovely Orchid you created. Thank you so much for teaching it to us!!!!
+Chris Apao Thank you so much! I'm italian and I've never understood the logic of calling them double-triple crochet too :D Even if it's more difficult (for me) to pronounce "quadruple" I prefer it :D I'm happy you like it :D
+MaryJ Handmade I use the correct term first... then tell them I will call it a Quadruple... and then shorten it to Quad when I talk. That way they know what I am referring to and I don't have to say Quadruple every time. Long live the Quad! LOL
I'm a beginner..I'm trying now to make this orchids for my madam I will surprise her..I also love ur necklaces a puff stitch..so vry clear nd easy to follow. .u really a gud teacher😍😍😍😍
hello mary! i was able to make an orchid just in one day for my mother's birthday which is tomorrow. thank you so much for this amazing video and i wish all the best for you in life!
You did an amazing job with these orchids I loved it and your tutorial is great. I did this before and I gave it to my daughter for CHRISTMAS SHE LOVED IT. THANK YOU for sharing
World Of Amigurumi Grazie mille!!!
Hello, your work is wonderful,I already knitted a tulip according to your master class.I'm Ukrainian, but I understand English a little, tell me,please, does your video translate into Russian!😊
I’m following the orchid flower video under MATERIALS REQUIRED what gauge wire do I use. Please respond as I want to make the flower for a Christmas gift. This is the first time I’m making the flower. I’m very excited. Thank you.
Bettina Berghammer Hi! Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it :D I use Egyptian cotton and a 1.75 mm hook :) If you have other questions, please, contact me :)
You gave me the gauges for the wires, now I need the ply of cotton used for the petals, leaves, stems, centres and do I use the same crochet hook throughout.it would be great if you include this information at the start of your video, as I’m a first timer. And I get the exact size of the flowers. All in metric please, as we have metric in Australia, thankyou.
You are a very good teacher. Thank you. Do you have a PDF for your orchid pattern? I would greatly appreciate it. I'm making an Orchid for my grand daughter. again, thank you. I couldn't find you on Face Book - it stated - Sorry, this content isn't available right now
Thank you so much! I don't have a PDF pattern, but here you can find a written pattern! I hope it can help you :) You're right, I had some problems with that facebook page, but if you digit MaryJ Handmade in the FB search you can see the main page and the English page :) leartidiminerva.blogspot.it/2015/04/orchidea-alluncinetto-how-to-crochet.html
This is such a beautiful flower! I would like to try to make even though I done very little thread crochet. Do you have a written pattern to go with the video? I am a slow learner and need a lot of help. Thank you!
Geneva Kennedy Hi Geneva, I'm so sorry, but I'm not able to write a pattern like this... this is the reason why I make videos! If you have doubts or need info, please contact me on facebook, I'll try to help you! :)
thanks so much for your help! i have a few more questions if you or someone could possibly help. where can I find decent cotton thread (I'm used to just regular acrylic yarn which i easily find on amazon.) what size wire? is there a pattern handy somewhere for leaves and/or a pot? thanks again for any help!
One more question ... Sorry. Do you know what "Weight" Egyptian Yarn you used? It's obviously too thin to be "Worsted Weight (4)" but I am not familiar with the finer/thinner weighted yarns. Thanks Again!!
Hi! I don't know the weight, I just can tell you that here in Italy is size 5! I suggest you to use any thread you can work with a 1.5/2 mm hook! About the wire I use, it' s 0,6mm... I hope I ve been cleae enough, but if you have more questions please, contact me :)
I can a little english. So if i dont understand the pattern i do it with google translation. So i dont understand the stitches what they mean, you can always look on google and now i know all of them. I hope i can understand your description an when i look this on you tube, i hope ican make this flower.
These are beautiful! Do you know what gauge wire you used? I bought 22 gauge online but it's really thin so I am going to put a couple together ~ I was just wondering if you knew what you used so I will know for next time. Thanks!!
Hello, I used gauge 22 wire on a #3 and #2 cotton yarn, and it's just fine. I used the Bernat Softee Cotton yarn #3 (light) and it's okay. Hope that helps.😊
+maryj handmade well i searched your blog to find a written pattern with no luck :( also went to every facebook link you posted above and all of them say no longer available or not found. i would love to get a written pattern and see what others have created! also is your stuff on ravelry? thanks so much :)

Mary J just loved the orchid, made it too, thanks a ton for a well explained video. Just a query what about the orange centre , how did u do that?
Belleza 🥰
Do you think the orchid would hold its shape well enough to not use the wire so I can attach it to a blanket?
Love this, great video!! Thank you so much for sharing!
May I ask why it looks orange at the center of the yellow part for you?
Beautiful!! Thank you very much!
