WORKING after making change suggested in comments. WAS NOT WORKING on Moto G Pure Android 12 with October 2023 Security Patch. Google Play Services appears in Battery Usage, but it does not allow me to disable the App. I can disable/force stop other Apps but not Google Play Services.

This really works. One add: in my case I constantly land on page update TH-cam app when tap on TH-cam link in the message. So to avoid it, I entered recovery mode and clean data. Then it started working correctly.
