flaking paint on the roof is just probably rushed paint prep. It happens when the surface was not dried completely before base coat or paint underneath is mismatched thinner wise.
I just went through a bunch of this with a 240 I picked up a few months back. Headlights are a pain, turn signal stalk can be flaky, but you'll want to trace the wires under the front fenders (or wherever they might have been relocated) to the relays. Make sure the headlight motors have good grounds. Bench test the motors too. Your rear view mirror isn't correct, factory one bolts into the roof/headliner. Those fender markers missing are just parking lamps, front turn signals go in your front bumper. You probably need type x signals for that bumper. The parking lamps can be bought with pigtails on ebay, maybe the turns too.
For the front of your car. Make it quick release and unter that put in exoskeleton front end so you can take it off before you leave for the track. Best of both worlds.
There's gotta be something wrong with the front end geometry... if the suspension components are still in the stock locations and the cross-member hasn't been modified, then I'd have to think the tubed front end may be the culprit as to why the bumper isn't hanging right... I mean it looks like you're on the verge of going off-roading with that wheel gap, yet the front lip is practically dragging... Either that or the coils have something seriously wrong with them... Maybe your next step should be to pull the entire front end off the car (fenders, bumper) and try and see what exactly you're dealing with...
Alright, I'm ready, I have a bag of corn for each episode.(about twenty minutes of munchin'). word of advice.. RIDE the wave, don't struggle against it and don't force it! Soon it'll be 20k then a hundred.. 👍
I did not notice that front wheel is far from the fenders while the lip looks literally kissing the ground, now that you've mentioned it it IS weird, looking forward on seeing what you'd do to correct that one. Also are you considering a wrap by any chance?
I loved that car! And I agree it is an amazing platform. However I had to sell it to allow me to make some other things happen, and I didn’t want to risk messing that car up
Can tell you had fun with this one, and it made it a blast to watch. Nice work Gels!
❤
As a fellow 240 owner I have a lot of these issues also
We’ll get through it together
Oh shit, let’s fix a 240 series 💪💪💪
Let’s get it!
It is a running 240... That puts you in the 5th percentile of 240 owners. 240s are awesome fun cars as long as you don't completely "Tim Allen" them.
240: Give me your lunch money!
Gels: You already took my money!
😂
Can’t wait for all the awesome content and videos! Its gonna be so dope🔥
Thank you! I’m pumped!
240 content 👍, had the same headlight issue in my 240. Most of the time it’s not the motors it’s just the wiring, I rewired mine and it worked
Good to know! Yeah I'm pretty sure the wires are just cut for some reason
Do you have schematics or know where they're published. Been trying to get mine going for a while now
Love to see more 240 content for sure , especially a diy paint job !
Looking forward to the build along series! I loved the RX8-8 one and I can't wait to see this one
Appreciate it! This will definitely be a change up from the RX-8 series for sure

super sick car, stoked to see what you do with it!!
Really excited to go on this journey with you!
I’m ready to see you slide that bad boy around next drift season 🤙
Love it gels :D great vid !
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
We need to get you up to about 100k subs so you can go to EVERY drift event next year!!!
That would be the dream lol

All of this. The whole front end needs to be pulled apart and need to be measured several time.
That’s a great idea actually. The car will be getting torn down pretty soon so we will see!
Hope to see you at usair. Just moved to wi you’ll see me and my 180 there
A build series would be great
think the wheel gap definitely has something to do with the tubed front end. perhaps something was measured incorrectly during the process.
It’s a good call, but there is a majority of the original frame there, I’m not exactly sure what those tubes are doing lol

maybe the front fenders had been cut up (i think they call it radius cut) for bigger tires... really big tires
Nice VSKFS bro!!
Thanks! They were really cheap for some reason
Am I the only one that's completely distracted by the reflection of the ring light in his glasses?
😂 it bugged me the whole time I was editing
"I did this to myself" 🤣
Kinda wish you would have kept frs to drift, but I get it.

The plan is to attempt to re-paint the car. I've had my experience of wrapping my RX-8 before and want to try something different.
I’m still waiting for that series:(😢
Just finished a video on the 240 that will be going live this Saturday!
Have you invested in any sim gear to keep yourself fresh during the Midwest offseason?
Not yet but it is on my wish list for sure!
what wheels do you have on the back? love that look!
Those are the Anovia Kanos! Designed them myself actually
@@akagels good design choice i love them!
This was a fantastic video.
PS Let's just swap cars :)
Let’s do it!
Why not keep the frs? It’s a good platform.

I wish I had only that many things wrong with mine 😂
Oh no…😅
@@akagels it's alright they are all a work in progress 😂. I just wish I had a stock car. Hahahaha maybe I can buy one from a museum one day.
