Like you, I also got into Elbow by watching the live Abbey Road concert, I think Starlings is in my top 10 songs ever. A very good friend introduced me to this album shortly after it was released. Great album from beginning to end! Guy's voice really reminds me of Rob Dickinson of Catherine Wheel. If you want to hear another great album, Rob's only solo album, Fresh Wine for the Horses, was the album I introduced to my friend in return. Cheers!

Got to admit, I’m new to Elbow. But this makes me want to hear more.
i bought the album and just played this track over and over again- it is so beautiful - the line "we took the town to town tonight, we kissed like we invented it " takes me back to my first date with my beautiful girlfriend where we had a fantastic night= my girlfriend loved the song and without telling her what i thought of the song i asked her why she loved it so much and she told me she loved it for the same reason that it also reminded her of our first date

Yes, taking a break. . . sort of. Didn’t intend to go this long without posting episodes. Between holidays, work, and unforeseen leak over my ceiling, perfect storm to keep me from recording and editing. Have a couple of ones in the queue ready for editing. Will try to get to those soon. - Greg

Elbow, as you say, are a band that through melody convey such emotion. Guy Garvey does make you feel what his intentions are. The lyrics of Elbow songs are pure poetry. They are one of the few bands that can make me shed a tear. Tracks like "The Birds" and "The Night Will Always Win", make you want to drown in their melodies. Then with a track like "The Night Will Always Win", the lyrics hit home. It always makes me think of those close who have passed away, and then I shed a tear.
It's a really pretty song, enjoyed it a lot. Happy new year to you all!
