You’re absolutely right about truck drivers. All over the world, every single thing you buy was delivered by a truck and the human behind that wheel.
It takes alot of oil to feed the Northstar, its just a tick from low oil. Those are probably one of the most reliable vehicles if you keep on the maintenance. I have close to 200k miles on my 06

Hey Randy, thank you for the kind words. That is an International ProStar, pretty basic spec and plain inside. That’s a cummins ISX engine. The panel damage was probably caused by the driver turning too sharp and hitting it on the trailer. The strap on top of the cupboard in the sleeper is where the microwave is strapped down. The little genset provides heat and A/C and also heats the coolant for winter and keeps the batteries charged up. I think the blue truck on the other side of the white rolled truck would have a nicer interior.

Truck drivers and rail workers are what get everything we need in the stores. Give them the respect they deserve. It's a hard life.
I've had 3 of these dts's. They started this style in 2006 which I've had. It was a great car. I've had a 07 and 08 as well. They have the revised Northstar motors. It's completely different than the old 1s. I've never ever had any motor or transmission issues with any of them. Actually only had 1 issue with 1 of them and that was with a speed sensor. Them cars are great on gas as well. Just treat them well and it will treat you well.that was the same color as my 07. Love that color.
The late 90s and early 00s ones are the bad apples

05 and older are the ones that have the issues. They say by 03 they fixed the issue but I don't think so. I've owned a few of the older ones as well. Don't get me wrong they drive beautiful but I don't trust them.
@@FrossYT Actually 02 fixed the issue and I haven't seen any complaints for 02 and newer but who knows

Hi Randy i am a dutch truckdriver and it's a fact without trucks we are naked,hungry and homeless.
It's a fight everyday, I start early 05.00u and I come home between 19.00u and 20.00u sometime I don't see my between the weekends.
And Yess we sure meet some pancakes on the road everyday.
My weight is about 50.000 kilo so it's not easy to move to a nother lane.
And people just don't understand" I will ride over you if you make me brake suddenly!" And after a long day meeting a lot of pancakes on the road we some times loose our patience but is that strange? I don't think so.
We will always provide others with all they need.
And we will keep everybody safe on the road while we are doing our job.
Because that's a part of the job!
The damage to the international was from doing a U-turn real sharp and hitting the trailer the generator is APU
100 % the truck drivers are there for us all over the world .

I just got the GB70. I’m thinking eventually I’ll get the GB150 too. But for what I need right now it’s strong enough and a good size too.

Randy, a cab over is the trucks that have no nose. Just flat in the front. Have to climb to get in it. The bed is the sleeper or bunk.
I'm kind-of intrigued by that BMW. When I first saw how shoved that front end was, I thought those front frame rails were trashed.
When you showed the frame though, it was really surprising it wasn't more damaged than it was. I think that car would make for interesting content. The passenger side frame rail that was tweaked didn't look too bad. It might be a fun project.
It seemed to run great and the interior was very nice. That passenger side of the car would definitely clean up (the scuffs that is) with a good buff. I hope you consider taking a chance on it.
The head gasket issue and bolts were fixed in 04. I had a 04 problem free 214000 miles. Bought it with 41k miles on it. No leaks. Did have to replace the alternator, that's it. If it's a 03 or before RUN. I had a friend that works for GM, has a 05 deville and a 04 for his wife. No problem. The 02 dts he bought, sitting in his field.

Hey Randy, it's a conventional rig. A cabover is one that has the cab and the sleeper over top of the engine, it's big and square. I'm a retired truck driver. Just thought I'd run that by you. 😎🚛👌👍

Save the DTS! They fixed the issue in the newer DTS
That’s definitely a lower-end knock.
That's a sleeper w/a Cummins. Cab overs are the ones where you lift the cab. Driving does take brains and coordination. I'm an instructor. I'd be happy to teach you how to drive a manual. That generator is actually an APU. It heat and cools the truck while parked without idling the truck.
23rd garage collaboration on that frame work, that guys doing a good job and I guess that bmw it’s nothing for them
I have a 2009 dts with 139000 klms runs great if I lived down there I would buy it in a heart beat [ I live in Canada] and yes they do leak oil . rad support does come off only bolted on all easy fixes
the knock is low oil
International is a sleeper cab.

Question, why didn't the bag deploy? That took a pretty good punch in the nose for no bag deploy.
My best guess is that because it was a high hit, it missed the airbag sensors. I believe that the airbag sensors are mounted on the front bumper which seemed to be untouched in the accident. It looks like it was a pretty low-speed hit, too so that probably helped.

I think the gold standard of jump starter boxes is a jump starter box that can jump start a semi solo.
Also, that ComfortPro unit that you're poking in that International is an Auxiliary Power Unit or APU. Its usually a small diesel generator (usually Kubota or some other make) with an air-conditioning unit attached. It also is attached to the truck's electrical system to power the truck at night and during the time the truck is stationary (it also can charge the batteries and also warm up the engine as well). ComfortPro is just one of quite a few makers of APUs; others include Carrier, ThermoKing and Green APU.

I like the Cadillac & think if the oil was topped off or changed you'd be ok so I think go for it an buy an repair it...if nothing else it be a great video to watch

Them primwell tires are alot better of a tire than them Kumhos, I used the kumhos on a 96 C1500 and didn't get 20,000 miles out of them
So so that’s called a conventional truck with a sleeper a cab over was the older trucks that you’re cab sat on engine so to get to engine you would tip the cab over that small generator is called a APU unit that you use to heat and cool truck with main engine off

Those cars may be older but that dts brings good amount of money still. Those sell here in Saskatchewan for 8 to 10,000 dollars still and no they are not good daily drivers for anyone because they cost alot to maintain. There not for everyone.
