Great Video Wess, that's exactly why I plant cowpeas they stay green until frost, right now clearing a new annual clover plot, for Arrowhead, Crimson, and Awningless Red wheat, deer food plot plus turkey plot.
@@carrollsanders9376 Caroll thanks for watching and commenting! I hope it will be a great early season plot when most of the other plots are beginning to turn! Good luck on your new plots!!
@@DIYfoodplotpro It's going to be a Self seeding annual plot the only thing that will not reseed is the Wheat, the deer and Turkey will eat all the grain.
Interesting, I think we are a little too far north to plant lab lab. We will plant our fall plots Aug 5th. Brassica and radish on half, and beans and peas on the other half, and then overseen with rye in a few weeks. Bob
@@rfb7117 Bob, I wouldn’t be scared to try them where your at as as spring/summer food plot. Best I remember you said y’all plant beans in the spring, and then put brassicas and cereal rye into the beans later on in the year. I will know more about how they do once I see how the deer react to them with the soybeans. But as of right now I like what I see as the growth rate is faster than soybeans, if the deer hit them as hard as soybeans im planning on mixing them together in a spring plot for next year.
@@rfb7117 Bob I had a little trouble finding them in a local store around here as well. I ordered mine from hancock seed, I ordered a 25lb bag since it was free shipping
Mark thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it. You can definitely add turnips if they work well in your area, but I typically do not. My plots for later in the season will have turnips in them, but this one is more just for early season bow hunting. Thanks
Brandon thanks for watching and commenting. A couple things I’ve noticed so far, is the lab lab has a much faster growth rate than soybeans….they flat get out of the ground and take off…where soybeans seems like take forever to really get the roots down and get to going. I’m excited to see as well, right now I’ve got a scarecrow in both plots protecting, but I’ll pull it at some point before season and we can hopefully gain some good insight! Thanks
@@Brandon-uo1rv no the local farm stores didn’t have any. Hancock seed is where I got mine from. I bought a 25lb bag since it was free shipping and a 50lb wasn’t.
Ashton, thanks for watching and commenting! Absolutely, lots of folks overlook these late summer food plots but they can be really good for getting that buck on the ground early in the season. Good luck with the plot!
Clark thanks for watching and commenting! Hahahah well….we actually got like 7/10 that might, and it was about 5-6 days later when we got the flood. I went and check this plot yesterday, and I’m super excited about it. Scarecrow is protecting it nicely and the soybeans and lab lab are flat growing like a weed!
Thanks for the info.. I just got home from planting my first plot of radish, clover and oats 🤞🏻🌧☘🦌
Bowman, thanks for watching and commenting! Good luck on the plots. Are y’all still dry or have y’all started getting some rains again?

We're getting great rain every couple days in WNY... THANK GOD ! Good luck to all who are dry 🌧👍🏼🌧🤞🏻
Glad y’all are finally catching back up! It’s been a tough summer for a bunch of us food plotters!

We had it tough here last year
Awesome, Next week, Lab Lab, Winter peas and brassica is going in.
Roy, thanks for watching and commenting! Awesome man! Hope you get some awesome results and some fantastic hunting over them! Good luck!

Bob thanks for watching and commenting! Good luck on the fall plots, I sure hope y’all have started to get rain now and are rebuilding soil moisture!
No rain yet...hoping for some soon. Are the lab lab a bean grown in the south?

Excited to see the lab lab results esp with the soybeans mixed in as well. Should give some good insight on preference

I am planting a half acre of soybeans soon should pull the deer in come season

Just wondering if the rain you had predicted was the 5 or 6 inch FLOOD you got? Hopefully NOT!!
