I believed it. When my sister was around three or four, I bought her a sandwich cutter that would turn a piece of bread/toast into little dinosaur shapes. The problem was, that my sister would prefer to play with her little bread dinosaur instead of just eating it. On one occasion, she was playing with her little bread dinosaur, much to my mother's chagrin, but while my sister was playing with it, something caught her attention: either someone called her name or there was a noise outside, I don't remember; but while she was distracted, she absentmindedly bit into the dinosaur and bit its head off. When she tried to go back to her dinosaur "friend," she noticed she had bitten the head off, and started to cry.

She just acted well enough to convince three people right in front of her that she used to have a friend made of bread. Thats talent. So you must have some other issue with her. Whatever your personal issue is, it certainly isn't holding her back.
