As far I know it was intended to be better damage (plus I like doing md 2C), but checking it out now 66C instead of md 2C(1) does more damage in the BnBs.Thanks for pointing that out!
It's just execution, you'll end up getting it dw The only tips I can give you is don't mash the buttons and practice in free training, once you can pull it out pretty reliably, try to do them against bots, and once you can do it against bots consistently, you'll be able to pull it off against players

Is there any reason to use run up 2c instead of dash c when you combo it into 22b? I feel like this just do less damage and its harder

It will save a ground bounce iirc so useful in some confirms/routes
66C only works if you didn't use up a ground bounce somewhere
