A carbon copy of these bells is at St Marys Catheral in Sydney. They were installed by my dad who was a bell hanger for Whitechapel bell foundary until 1972 when we moved to Sydney
@@toastedbutter4316 Swan bells Ares a carbon copy. They are the old 12 from At Martin's in he fields plus other bells to make a 16. They should have recast them. There was a reason they got rid of them. Now St Martins has a modern peal with good Simpson tuning
@@nickpodas5636 that's right I did say a carbon copy. I don't think St Andrews sounds the same. St Mary's sound better due to the fact they are on one level and the tower I'd much bigger. St Sndrewsx are on two levels and they are a much better 10 than a 12 in my opinion. I do like both of them and of course St Mary's has a light 10 and they are lovely. St Mary's means a lot to me as my dad hung the bells
These and St. mary's, Sydney are very different from St. Andrew's. St. Andrew's are stretch tuned and have what I can only describe as a 'wobbly character'.@@nickpodas5636
Mark Bpharm Only after 1539; for much of its existence it was a Catholic Cathedral. Let's pray its keys are returned to its rightful owners so Christ may grace its tabernacles once again.
Heartwarming memories of watching my grandfather ring at Battle Church. He was captain of the bell ringers there for over 40 years.
