    I'm about to go to my first american football practice and this channel has been priceless. Especially all the talk about hips and injury prevention. I would have never considered it. Thank you

    Is there a certain way that your legs should be set up before releasing(I see some recievers with their left foot in the back and some with their right foot in the back)I've also seen an article that said if your on the left side of the field your left foot should be in the back and vice versa

      The foot in front should be the side closest to the Quaterback. If your on the right side of the field and qb is to your left than you put your left foot ahead first and right foot back

      So the traditional way is the foot closest to the QB is up. You’re on the right side your left foot should be up. Some offenses will switch the WRs feet due to timing. But I don’t personally like that, I feel it gives away the route

      @@firstdowntraining What is the reason for changing the front foot? I would be more comfortable with my left foot in front on both sides.

      @@mathisvorndran8328 I know im replying late but i believe it has to do with how efficient and quick the route becomes. By have the outside foot as the back foot, you can release quickly for, let's say, a outside release, a diamond release for a slant, a fade route, etc. Basically, it has to do with outside routes and quickness, if u know what i mean.

      I think it’s going to take some work- it’s a tough answer because I’m not sure how talented the team your on is. I’m going to point you in the direction of some of our website content that can help you!

    On the second clip, can I use a kick step instead of a prep step because it feels more comfortable for me.

    What is stacking or restacking?

    • @firstdowntraining

      That’s when you get over the top of a press coverage DB and he is trailing your hips behind you

  • @maazshaikh3696
    @maazshaikh3696 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yo coach what If I’m against an outside shade DB and I’m running a corner. At the top of my route he’s right next to me like his hips are right next to my hips and I need to cut into that corner, what should I do? Because what I’ve been doing is dropping my hips and then cutting out

    • @firstdowntraining
      @firstdowntraining  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would throw by so if he’s over the top, slip under him and break the corner off flat unless you are taught to keep a high angle then you may just have to run around
