Where’s the misconception that gay guys are attracted to every guy they meet? Like, it’s so annoying when straight guy friends think that way when they know someone is gay.
Wanted to share a story from my secondary school: In sec 2, my class had a sex-ed class all about crushes and relationships. It was going quite well until my teacher said that if we are experiencing same sex attracttion, it is a normal PHASE we experience as emotional teenagers that WILL PASS. It made an impact on me, because I was already developing a huge crush on my female friend. It however, ended up with me going through turmoil for the next 3 years, crying to myself at night, wondering when I will stop likeing girls. I mean I like boys, I HAVE to be straight right? I have more guy crushes than girls. This HAVE to be a phase RIGHT?? It is only in poly where I met some loud and proud gays and lesbians as well as better support for the lgbtq+ community that I started to feel comfortable being bi. Overall, I feel that Singaporeans are very slowly improving in their acceptance of the community. But if the education about lgbtq+ is anything like what I've seen in class, then we still have a long way to go.
in sec 1 i had a really homophobic teacher. actually idk if its considered homophobic or what its just like she doesnt take lgbtq+ ppl seriously. this cher taught us CCE right, n theres sex ed n all. and the CCE slides r made by MOE so its the same slides for almost every school. the CCE slides showed like phases of a relationship. like acquantances, friends, crush, boyfriend/girlfriend, and husband/wife. bc i was from a girls school right, she said "yall ignore the girlfriend and wife lah haha". then me and a few other classmates say "why canbot have girlfriend and wife. can what." then she went full on laughing (and some of our other classmates too) like "HAHAH yall think u funny ah" then we were like serious, i glared at the girl beside me who was laughing, n many ppl shouted "NO, CAN HAVE GIRLFRIEND AND WIFE" then the classmates who laughed went quiet. the teacher, however, went like "tsk haiyah yall dont understand" and went on. like wth ya i dont understand that teacher 💀💀💀
I fully agree abt love simon the movie was so sweet and just an innocent coming of age teen movie and had 0 sexual references and has the same rating as 50 shades of grey
Jasmine Yin Looks or personality? Ps: why u no answer? Cos if looks then means I still chance out there. if personality then idk le...im not outgoing n bubbly like that anymore, the world have successfully killed me.

Really really important video right here. There's so many other LGBT videos that shares the same message, but hearing it from your own fellow Singaporeans about the struggles you have gone through makes this so much more relatable. Being raised a Muslim has not made my coming out easy at all and I can't fathom even telling my parents any of it. This can be a sad, lonely process and having videos like this helps a lot. While sexuality is not something we have a choice about, accepting and embracing this part of who we are is. Love to all my fellow LGBTQ+ friends out here ❤️
SHere's a story : my friends/ seniors took the rainbow/pride flags to school so that we could take pictures with it as it was racial harmony Day. Somebody then complained to the teacher abt it ( as we posted it online) and we got in trouble because of it! Some our parents were called/ told to come down to the school and were talked to by the principal/teachers....ik it's not related to the video but.... Yea I kinda wanna share it
i totally feel that there was no need for such a negative reaction on the school's part but one question. why on racial harmony day tho?? a lil unnecessary and unrelated to the occasion
Sexuality is a major part of a person's identity imo. And having to repress that part of you sucks. But I think SG is far more accepting of LGBT than us in Malaysia, since muslims are a minority there. This is such an important discussion to have, to address the issues and misconceptions of the LGBT community. Too bad we don't have a proper platform for that, one that advocates a healthy discussion without hate or ignorance. But oh well the bi girl is right, not in the nearest future. Guess I'll stay in this comfy closet for a while, as a Malay bisexual.
This is really good to hear more Singaporeans speaking about the LGBTQ+ community. When you haven't come out of the closet, it feels very isolating if you have no one else to talk about because you're scared to speak at all. Thanks so much for this!
i have a classmate who says that. and its rly annoying like whenever i try to educate my friend who knows nothing about the lgbtq+ community, this classmate will be like heyo do u like pans? that means ure pansexual 💀💀💀
I’m singaporean and asexual. I only found out about the LGBTQ+ community 2 years ago when my friend came out as genderfluid. And that was how I found out I am a part of this community as well. Glad to see Singaporeans acknowledging and discussing this topic.
It's really nice watching Singaporeans talk about LGBTQ stuff/ include LGBTQ content, because nowadays the most common communities are from America, and it is very comforting to know that there's a Singaporean community, in your own country, to support and accept you.
After i told people im aro ace , they usually tell me 'I'll say that to your future partner' or 'you say that now' or 'later you become the fastest to get into relationship' and i get really angry because everyone just thinks it'll stay this way for a while until i meet someone and settle down like thats not how it works dude . All of them think its a phase (not just my family it's my friends too) honestly really hard to come out and have someone actually be supportive of me
Misconceptions are so common and it sometimes hurt when friends judge or give careless remarks about the rainbow community. Thanks for making this video. Hopefully people get to be more loving towards one and another 💓🌈 P/s: Omg Jean acted in 萤火虫的梦 when she was younger!!! Love that drama!!!! Glad that she’s doing music now ok time to find her TH-cam channel ☺️
You definitely can’t answer to a certain percentage how much you like guys or girls. I thought I could only like girls but I’m still attracted to guys. Only the heart knows.
Thank you for doing this. Please do more on these topics. As a singaporean older gay man, i find it’s hard to be who i am and most of the time I can’t be myself and have to hide. Well i’m glad that i’m not alone facing it. I’m 32 this year and when i turn 35 i shall get the HDB singles flat.
M Hairi Idk what r u getting at but personally i won't bother her bout it since she wasnt being a dick like other religious ppl. Tho i wish more n more ppl will move away/reject religion.
RonLarhz religion doesnt exist. We are all born human, not a muslim, christian, buddhist etc. But if u do something or act in a way that is forbidden from your religion, pls dont associate urself with that religion.
omgggg I have the biggest crush on Mars and totally knew that there’s something about her. now that I know that she’s bisexual/pansexual, omg my heart cannot take it, I actually stand a chance :))))) (am a bisexual girl btw)
I feel that the basics of love is about a human loving another human, be it female or male. And love itself is such a beautiful thing (trusting, caring, sacrificing, protecting) that as a 'straight' I believe that its fundamentally wrong to judge or look down on them. I do believe that many singaporeans do not just 'dont care' about the LGBT community but also accepted them as common human beings.
I’ve never felt the freedom to be Bisexual . I am part of a very conservative religious community . Singaporean by birth but now living in the States and still don’t feel very accepted but I have begun to accept myself as bisexual . Not because there is something wrong with me . Not that it’s evil as I grew up believing but because I am myself ! Still trying to work out how to live this way even though I’m part of a faith that says it’s a sin... so it’s been rly tough for sure
Subscribed :) Glad that more people are talking about this in Singapore. Came out to my close friends as bisexual, and they didn't mind at all. My family views lgbt as an "eww" thing so I'm waiting it out to see if I'll ever have the need to tell them.
Yea lor that girl that think the piece of paper isnt important. At least the other one knows the complication of not legally recognised as family/next-of-kin.
It’ll be good if the video includes subtitle. Some parts are really hard to catch and I got to keep repeating it to find out what he/she is speaking..... please do something to it..... 😕
Contrary to what some have expressed, it MATTERS MUCH whether the law is repealed or not because it criminalizes what a certain sector of society does in the privacy of their own bedroom! yall can do like gender spectrum things. like difference in gender identity, biological sex and sexuality, then explain to people that gender, like many things in life, is not a black or white thing. its not only man and woman. also that pronouns dont equal gender, and they/them pronouns make sense. i feel like alot of people are still confused about this like why one person but refer to them as "them"
does wearing an oversize sweatshirts for men like your shorts is not visible is accepted in singapore? or is it prohibited? a tourist from PH that would like to visit the country thanks!!!!
Stumbled upon this... and I have to say that I’m proud at the same time in awed at how much open the younger generation has been now as compared as 10-20years ago... if you could do a part 2 of this topic, you must discuss about legalising same sex marriage... the reason why I hope this to be discussed is because of a personal experience I had when I was hospitalised, my partner of 10years was unable to visit me because the rule was families/next of kin only...
my ex bf was from singapore( from uk) but he was too scared to come out to family even after 8yrs then he dumped me miss him every second and wish we could have been together forever(which i thought was gonna happen)
Hello i’m from Indonesia coming out in Indonesia is so hard, my parent is religious person, They will be angry and maybe kick me out from their home, i’m gay but this feelings is so strong. since i was child, attracted to male, i think LGBT is normal, is not a disease, give me some message. what should i do?
Gay community is a little bit straight forward and judging just like general population (toward LGBT). If you're feminine than you're out. For example, nobody want a chinese guy just because they look feminine which made them less attractive among gay community. Similar to the concept of AMWM relationship. secretong malupet actually I think that she’s pansexual but uses the bisexual label as well because some people don’t know about pansexuality. Also in my opinion pansexual people are bi but bi people are not necessarily pan
Kelvin Yes she is. So is her brother. Her bro was still calefare for mediacorspe few years ago. Not sure bout now as i hardly watch mediacorspe anymore. I hate how the lgbtq artistes still work for such bigoted company with the hypocritical mda over censorships n whatsnot. Rape and adultery and even somewhat incest is glorified in their dramas but anything that suggest lgbt or good/neutral portayal is censored.
@@RonLarhz haha, mediacorpse, i like that! really befitting of the way all their original dramas and shows are going to shit and less people watch over the years. the plot is always so dull or unresolved, and sometimes they say some stereotypical shit abt other races/sexualities. theres so much more that the media in singapore could do better in handling and producing but they don't even try lmao.
Thank God my church doesn't say anything abt lgbt at least that's better than them being homophobic cuz if they do I'll throw my shoe at the pastor talking and be like " I'll throw the other if u don't shut up and apologise"😡
Irrelevant. Lgbt people want equal rights. Whether I was a car or bike or helicopter. I still have to pay for my own parking. I’m not gonna demand for it. When everyone else is paying for it. LGBT people want what everyone should be entitled to have. The freedom to love.
Were they even okay with being labelled? Referring to the first question, Cus there are people who don’t see in labels and can find it to be offensive if they were asked for their sexual orientation?
Where’s the misconception that gay guys are attracted to every guy they meet? Like, it’s so annoying when straight guy friends think that way when they know someone is gay.
Whitedarkish and most of them straight dudes are ugly af lol zero fashion sense
My favorite response is “why makes you think that I’d be attracted to you?” 😏😂😂😂 I love how offended they get 😂😂😂
Yeah same with girls reacting to lesbians. The moment you tell them "well you're not my type" they suddenly get upset.
My friends says I thought gay people are funny I am like wutttttt
PRECISELY. like dude even girls won’t like you, what makes you think gay guys will like you.
singapore needs to be ready for conversations like this.
I realize it is quite off topic but do anybody know of a good website to stream new movies online ?
@Amir Mark Lately I have been using Flixzone. Just google for it :)
@Lorenzo Israel Yea, been watching on flixzone for since april myself =)
@Lorenzo Israel thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I appreciate it!
@Amir Mark Glad I could help =)

@@user-vn9ce1wq2f yeah but they're just labels and labels can be changed. so, i respect your opinion.
@@user-vn9ce1wq2f All bisexuals. Trans males are males. Trans females are females.

Yes she is.

Same plot and exaggerated acting. Cmi.
Only and 古装剧 from the 90s can watch only.
Im trans and i dated at my current age now LOL *My crush accepted me UWU XD*

What does "la" mean?? Sorry I just don't know🥺
I'm DEPRESSED It doesn’t necessarily mean anything, it’s just an expression, ya know when people in English say ‘like’ all the time?
Wait, what does BTO mean?
Built to Order, housing flats.
Thank God my church doesn't say anything abt lgbt at least that's better than them being homophobic cuz if they do I'll throw my shoe at the pastor talking and be like " I'll throw the other if u don't shut up and apologise"😡
it’s pinkdot10 day!!

I identify as an Apache Helicopter. I wonder when can I get my own Helipad in Singapore.
Irrelevant.
Lgbt people want equal rights.
Whether I was a car or bike or helicopter. I still have to pay for my own parking.
I’m not gonna demand for it. When everyone else is paying for it.
LGBT people want what everyone should be entitled to have. The freedom to love.
this "joke" is so old. grow up, my dude
yihsin triggered much?

They can't. Else there would be no clowns for entertainment.
I am response and I am offended by your words!
Where's the T?
Were they even okay with being labelled? Referring to the first question, Cus there are people who don’t see in labels and can find it to be offensive if they were asked for their sexual orientation?
Holy shit Leah looks like lisa
