Triple talaq was banned, which means instant talaq by saying talaq talaq talaq. This can happen in a moment of anger and then it was considered an actual divorce. Then to undo this, girl has to do halala with maulwi or sometimes sasur or devar.
This instant triple talaq is banned. Normal process of divorce is still available for everyone. That is a long process with proper checks and balances.

A Muslim can't say triple talak and leave his wife in India. If he wants to divorce his wife, he has to go to the court and submit evidences why he wants to divorce his wife. And after divorce he has to provide his wife and kids for life time.

What is Triple Talaq?
Talaq-e-Biddat or Triple Talaq is a form of divorce that's practiced in Islam, whereby a Muslim man could divorce his wife by pronouncing talaq three times. The man need not cite any reason for the divorce and the wife need not be present at the time of pronouncement of talaq.
The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019 declares the instant divorce granted by pronouncement of talaq three times as void and illegal. It provides for imprisonment for a term up to 3 years and fine to the husband who practiced instant Triple Talaq.
Muslim woman, upon whom Talaq was pronounced also granted custody of children and subsistence allowance to be paid by the husband.

In theen Thalak the husband utters thalak 3 times at one go and its done, If I understand right original thalak should be given in 3 long intervals spanning months giving time to rethink the decision. Problem is in India any fringe Muslim group can set a bounty on these kind of people who speak out. For example one mulla in some mosque in some remote town will issue fathwa and a reward for anyone who attacks or kills the target person and problem is you cant expect police to protect you 24/7. In some Indian states the mulla lobby has forced the region high court to reduce marriage age of muslim girls by 16 quoting religious rights and muslim personal law. In a way they the radical muslim think tanks use India as a template to arm twist the government and legal system to to suite their needs and follow same strategy in European and other western countries and the local politicians there support them because they vote in blocks and make for sizable vote banks. Bhai there are so many cases of love jihad were the muslim boys even go to the extent of lying that there a re hindu and trap other community girls and force them to convert to islam. There are cases were a boy tells he is hindu and traps a girl and marries her in hindu custom and then girl comes to know he is muslim and he already has few wives. If a hindu boy loves a muslim girl the girls family hunts them down no matter where the could go and hide even after years and having children and kill the boy and at times even the girl ( one way traffic like muslim boy + other community girl = ok and girl coverts to islam but muslim girl + other community boy means sure death of the boy). In spite of all this you pakistanis keep saying muslims persecuted in india. Until a sane voice comes from within the community without the fear of their own community nothing can be done otherwise you all will be fooling yourself and keep lying and scheming against the kafirs and fighting a never ending war. Everything is NOT fair in love and war and before enrolling oneself to radical army please understand the kafir is also a human with flesh blood and emotions and if god so badly wanted to get rid of us he would have stopped us from being born in the first place. Stop insulting god by fighting his war for him, he is very much capable of taking care of himself.
