Without a proper scan tool, unplugging the negative battery post for approximately 10 minutes is another way to reset that check engine light. make sure you get to the bottom of The reason why the check engine light is on and take care of it before it escalate to something more serious.
@@servicemaintenance2920 thanks. my issue is only gas tank cap saying something about oxygen sensor but so it's nothing serious, but i believe it has to do with my gas cap because before that it would tell me check gas cap and weeks later then the engine light came on. i ordered a gas cap just in case and should be getting it in a few days. Also i did disconnect the battery but it was only for a little over a minute and it didn't go away. if 10 minutes do the trick i might just try that.
@@servicemaintenance2920 I already try to hold the break and gas for longer times but still not work. May be have somethings wrong with my software system? Did you know any car have the same problem like mine?

Can this be done even if you still have some miles left before the required oil change? Ive changed the oil, but still have 2000 miles to go.
