Been using it for a while now and its not as magical as everyone is making out it is.. Its a browser, does what all the other ones do. Just looks better, hence why I am still using it.
I've been using vivaldi for a bit now and I was interested in the sidebar tab option but I find that they need to have the page titles be right-aligned, so that the start gets cut off before the end. We already have a favicon before the title to show the domain/service so having it's name again immediately after that is a waste of very valuable space. I end up with 6 tabs that all say "▶ TH-cam - ...". Right alignment would mean I can keep the bar small and still see which specific page each item is, so instead of the above you'd get: "▶... - Top 10 DANKEST Cat Memes 2023"
Oh I like that idea. I believe Arc's tidy tabs might have a solution that renames tabs to something more human friendly instead of the typical long SEO optimized titles. You're right though that some of these browsers could better handle the layout so that people see the most important information. Welcome to the channel fam!

What's with the love for vertical tabs? Why do so many people love giving up screen real estate for information that is completely irrelevant most of the time?
This. It is my biggest pain point with Arc. I hope they’ll eventually give the option for horizontal tabs. From a UI perspective it’s terrible when a website also has a vertical layout. Horizontal IMHO doesn’t get in the way as much. Welcome to the channel!
Apparently, there is a growing trend of weird people who feel the need to open dozens of tabs at the same time. So they're like "OMG - I can't read my tabs". So putting them in vertical folders helps them "organize". I don't get it myself. I just close tabs that I don't need, like most normal people. But to each their own, I guess. Personally, I'm on Windows and prefer Edge. I 'could' do the same thing with vertical tabs. Or I can use Favorites or Collections... or a combination of all three. I like having different options. Kind of ironic that Microsoft (of all people) offers all these choices. But here we are.
@@stephencooper3583 haha so true. I personally am not a fan of vertical tabs. I also feel like having folders of tabs and a list of favorites in the vertical not always helpful. My primary use case for the saved tabs is usually for particular clients or projects where I can easily access my common links. I'm wondering if Arc will eventually add horizontal tabs. This would definitely be a huge improvement IMHO. Welcome to the channel!
I really wanted to like Arc but the UX is convoluted. In particular, the way Spaces intersect with Profiles makes no sense at all. It's completely unusable.
My biggest issue is the vertical tabs. It took me a little to get used to Profiles and Spaces, but now I appreciate certain aspects of it. I'm hopeful that they'll continue to improve the browser.
I do believe this in the works already. While it's still a work in progress, I love that they have all my space tabs ready to quickly access. This has been great for quickly accessing common links like courses.

Quite impressed with what you've shown us! The "Spaces" are of most interest to me, at present, as I have well over 100 tabs in Chrome under seven different Groups, and am looking for something that could simplify this and make it look less cluttered. I was a die-hard Firefox fan-boy for many, many years, until they started messing with the engine and most of my beloved extensions stopped working. Then it seemed as if there was so little difference between FF and Chrome (with Chrome of course being faster), that I jumped ship to it in late 2021. Definitely going to give Arc a try - Thank You so much for turning me on to it 🙂
Thank you Charles!! I’m so glad the video was helpful. Once you try it, I would love to hear your feedback on Arc. The hardest thing for me is to get used to the layout of having tabs on the side vs on the top. Other than that it’s an amazing user experience. Welcome to the channel! Enjoy Arc 😊

I do not know what's up with this Arc browser thing. I have been aware of it since a long time and it has been in waitlist forever. People talk wonders about it but why isn't it available to the public yet? Seems like a scam in the process. From what I remember, it isn't that big of a deal compared to Vivaldi. The sidebar and stuff like that are pretty much available to a usable extent in other browsers already. Splitview, sidebar and tab groups are default in Vivaldi. I genuinely do not understand the hype and the super long wait time when similar features are available in already popular and well accepted browsers. I am skeptical about this. You got 4 week wait period right? I think I have been in waitlist for years!!! Why? Cuz I am not a social influencer?? Sounds sketchy to me.

It’s built on the same Chromium base so in that sense its core is like Chrome. That said, Arc is definitely a different experience from Chrome. Do you currently use Chrome or another browser?
@@thebeautifulmessshow I generally don't care about stupid feature additions from browsers. Google Chrome has proved time and time again it has the best combination of features on top of the base Chromium browser, which makes sense, because they made it. So unless you're changing the browser engine, your browser will always be just Google Chrome but worse, no matter what you do. Change the engine. I don't care it's hard, if you want to make a new browser, make a new browser, don't reskin an existing one. You might be able to brainrot a few dumbasses into using your poorly modified version of Google Chrome, but it's still just Chrome. The only thing other than Google Chrome I'd consider using right now is either ungoogled Chromium (just because fuck google), and Firefox because AT LEAST it's a different browser.

Hello Friend! They’re working on making Arc available for Windows. Should hopefully be available in the next few months. What is your favorite browser on Windows?
Not very impressed... boosting a site just another example of wasting time instead of getting done what needs to get done. Edge is the way to go... (for me) I see nothing here that can't easily be done in any other modern browser.... but who knows what their future will bring to this app....
I will say the biggest thing for me to get over is the sidebar vs top navigation. I didn't know if I would ever use Boost either, but I actually found that after really trying while making the video it is actually kind of nice. Definitely not necessary. But I love being able to clean up sites like TH-cam or Facebook which have stuff that you never use. While not a necessary feature it is a lot more useful on sites you use on a regular basis. In that sense it could save time and enhance your experience by reducing unnecessary distractions. It will be interesting to see how the innovations of Arc impacts other browsers. Welcome to the channel fam!
Been using it for a while now and its not as magical as everyone is making out it is.. Its a browser, does what all the other ones do. Just looks better, hence why I am still using it.
That's fair. The UX design definitely is a big part. I also believe the team developing it is innovative so I'm excited to see where the browser goes.

I've never heard of this browser; it seems cool. I might give it a try. I've been using the Edge browser since it also has a great UI/UX, and it comes with integrated image creator (Dalle) and Bing AI, which I find fascinating!

So far it seems very similar to Chrome for resources. I'm on a MacBook Pro and I haven't had many if any performance issues with Arc. They recently updated it to be more efficient with tabs too.
