djhero0071 of course it is, Probot isnt just about Lemmy, i mean Chuck Schuldiner was supposed to be here but didnt due to his death. that obviously didnt stop Dave.
1:37 - 1:44 = Headbanging Goodness. I remember the first time I heard this song at College, in a packed but quiet Comp Lab and that part came on. To make a long story short, I was asked to kindly leave the building and conduct my Headbanging elsewhere. Good shit.
I'm quite sure it's a tom doing most of the work, with a couple of kicks. Pretty cool beat! It certainly has elements from Sepultura songs 'Territory' and 'Refuse/Resist' from my favourite Sepultura album, 'Chaos A.D'. I grew up with it!
Dave wrote songs on this ProBot record with certain singers in mind...this song was written to sound just like Sepultura...trouble is it's the nu-metal stuff and not the classic thrash stuff.
@tiki2188 Yep, it's definitely one bass drum. Dave normally uses a large tom above the bass drum, and 1 or 2 floor toms. He's just really working those toms in between snare hits.
Dave is FAR BETTER AT DRUMS than he is with guitar. It’s almost as if he matches every guitar stroke with a beat from his drums. As “The Dude” would say “It really ties the room together.” Wish he would play drums more often so as other drummers would take note. An inspirational drummer to say the least.
15 years ago and I just now found out about this? While Dave got rich by playing his version of the Eagles, he had his own fan project on the back burner. Which is more than I can say about The Eagles of Death Metal who seem to have forgotten the death Metal. Oh well, there's always black Metal
Fucking sick. Definitely I time when I knew nothing about metal listening to this. But the seed was planted and now years later still a great song. Gotta give Dave his due since I generally think foo fighters is...
I think I found the article you're referring to, but YT won't let me post it. Listen to the drums on the intro of Hangin' Tree from Songs For the Deaf, and you'll hear similar technique. The article references "double-bass trickery" but later mentions the "double bass stampede." I guess I'll just have to ask him next time we're hanging out.
Really? Apparently there might be another Probot album after all, and Chuck Billy's one of the people involved. Maybe the thing with Corey Taylor is for Probot II?
@rrobb911 well there was home video of grohl I saw on a VH1 special with him in highschool playing thrash drums very fast and I think it was double bass...if anyone has the clip let's see it.
I have Motley Crue "Home Sweet Home" when I really wanted "Girls,Girls,Girls" but the stupid phone only picks soft alarms that won't wake me from a light nap!
Here's a link to a guy on a single kick covering the drum part to the song. May not be the same set up as Dave Grohl's set but you can see how the crash gets worked in on each beat. Can't put the youtube.com part in front of the mess, but I'm sure you can figure that out. watch?v=RO-IIOdPMZ4
this is a song about the red war that will follow if iran builds a nuke which they would use against isreal making a nuclear war between the 2 and the singers jewish
I'm still waiting for a Probot II album. Make it happen Dave!!!
How the hell would he be able to???
Would that be possible without Lemmy?
djhero0071 of course it is, Probot isnt just about Lemmy, i mean Chuck Schuldiner was supposed to be here but didnt due to his death. that obviously didnt stop Dave.
hes was one guy....was daves project band.
The 606 warehouse is still overflowing with unsold Probot vinyls and CDs hahahaha
Still one of coolest side projects dave's done. This song just oozes 90s thrash. Praying for a second album someday.
Yess..
Probot 2 shall/must commence..
I think everyone is still alive except Lemmy.
I'm sure he would want nothing but more ass kicking rock n roll.
Max voice is just EPIC.
This entire album is flawless and still remains at the top of the list to this day. Killer songs
Tax me I'm Canadian haha i like your name im from Canada to
Your nickname is flawless man.
I'm still waiting for a Probot II album. Make it happen Dave!!!!!!!!
Max's favorite word is "babylon"
O Max é e sempre será único !!!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Don't sleep on Dave's drumming skills! He's still got it!
the real mad MAX
damn Max Cavalera and Dave Grohl? that's pretty fuckin awesome
This scratched an itch I didn't know I had.
1:37 - 1:44 = Headbanging Goodness. I remember the first time I heard this song at College, in a packed but quiet Comp Lab and that part came on. To make a long story short, I was asked to kindly leave the building and conduct my Headbanging elsewhere. Good shit.
he's playing single bass drum and the "double bass" pattern on the two lowest tuned toms.
This was awesome,i will give it a 9/10 perfect song to hear while playing call of duty.
imagine if Sepultura got Dave to produce a record.
still would need Max
This is unbelievable. I need to find this album. Fast.
dave and max it couldnt be any more perfect
I cant believe this is dave on drums! i had no idea he was that good
PopInJams he was the drummer for nirvana what do you expect
@@Easun36 Edgy
@@Easun36 redundant.
@@Easun36 i was only following along with the pattern. I understand if you think they weren't that good, grunge certainly is a niche genre.
This song is a mix of Territory (Sepultura) with Prophecy and Babylon (Soulfly)
I'm quite sure it's a tom doing most of the work, with a couple of kicks. Pretty cool beat!
It certainly has elements from Sepultura songs 'Territory' and 'Refuse/Resist' from my favourite Sepultura album, 'Chaos A.D'. I grew up with it!
nice combination..great work max n dave..\m/
Discovered this mantle piece of a groovy feast on DGs 50th birthday today! ♥️🤘
Roooots! Bloody roooots!
Do you think Max refused to work with Dave unless he wore camo shorts?
Specifically of the Cargo Descent
Dave is a god, my fav drummer
Yup. he even created the guitar and bass sounds, but they were redone when he got probot to record.
Win. So much win. Bad fucking ass. Grohl is a kick-ass metal drummer. Ad you can't go wrong with Sepultura's true frontman.
Dave wrote songs on this ProBot record with certain singers in mind...this song was written to sound just like Sepultura...trouble is it's the nu-metal stuff and not the classic thrash stuff.
The drum intro sounds like Territory
É BRASIL, PORRA!!!
Deal with it!
Thank you Max!!
Definitely. Can think of so many collaborators who he'd make awesome music with.
Oh, and I do love Max (and Sepultura) so no wonder this is my favorite song from the album!
this is a sooo typically sepultura song !!! great work dave !! but centuries of sin with cronos is my favorite !!
Loudkey forgot this song existed till now till it randomly popped in my head, listened to it when i was like 13 14, and now im 32... le feels
Says it all, this album.

Once how to play the rhythm clicks in your head, its one you won't stop playing for a while.
Max Cavalera !!!
best song of the best disc..
Had to hear this today.
This introduction in the music on drums, looks like intro to "TERRITORY" from SEPULTURA
!
Max Cavalera 🖖🖖
Being that Max Cavalera is on this track, is it a coincidence that the intro reminds me of "Territory"?
@tiki2188 Yep, it's definitely one bass drum. Dave normally uses a large tom above the bass drum, and 1 or 2 floor toms. He's just really working those toms in between snare hits.
I got introduced to toms by Shinedown "Cut the Cord" 😳
grohl has played double bass in his 80's metal days, and on this too it sounds.
It realy ties the song together.
sounds like Sepultura on steriods

Good build up in the beginning :)
True.. 🍻
Great song i forgot about it
Amen.....
it's time for probot #2 !!!
max é massa!
Behold the power of the Davalera monster \,,/
Dave Grohl kicks ass on the Drums
Fucking sick. Definitely I time when I knew nothing about metal listening to this. But the seed was planted and now years later still a great song. Gotta give Dave his due since I generally think foo fighters is...
he is the drums. he is Dave God :)
That would be sick.
Sick tune- vox//grohl,max supreme,,,wdsta1
Nice.
If I were to introduce somebody to Sepultura, I'd probably use this song. Its so perfect to their style
NICE !!!
fucking insane album!!!
Modern drummer interview asked Dave the same thing. It's one bass drum and one floor tom..........alternating 16ths
FUCKING MAX !!!! he can do no wrong on any band he does
Dave Grohl should really get around to making another "Probot" album.
yeah dude, dave never uses double pedal.
its toms that get the sound of bullets along with bass and floor.
fucking sick. and i mean awesome.
Double pedal is like riding a horse. Single pedal, the stinky leg just does it's own thing
I looked it up and there was definitely something about another Probot album. Maybe it'll happen?
MAX CAVALERA PORRAAAAA!!!!!!
probot exelennte.....
@tiki2188 yeah its single bass. haha such a sick drum lick
Probit is so cool
I think I found the article you're referring to, but YT won't let me post it. Listen to the drums on the intro of Hangin' Tree from Songs For the Deaf, and you'll hear similar technique. Single Bass!
RED WAR WILL FALL ON MY ENEMIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH
Dave Grohl's drumming on all the songs right?
You waited 8 years for an answer so here it is: yes he drummed on all the songs.
Not only is he drumming, but he also played bass and lead guitars.
Redwall, the rats are my enemies!
The thing with Corey Taylor is for his documentary on the Sound City Recording Studio. No Probot 2 :(
no, he does everything besides vocals on this album, he get singers from various bands.
@tiki2188 It sure is! What your hearing is him battering the shit out the toms at the same time..
@tiki2188 It can, if you use two foot machines...
I used to have this as my alarm for waking up and now I hate it :( Biggest mistake of my life
Never have a song you like as a alarm.
@@clawhammr666 agreed
I have Motley Crue "Home Sweet Home" when I really wanted "Girls,Girls,Girls" but the stupid phone only picks soft alarms that won't wake me from a light nap!
RED WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!!
yeaaahh!! and and write all the songs and play bass and guitar!!
MAX CAVALERA FROM BRAZIL!!!! :D SEPULTURA
@Xam271 indeed. not that difficult but sounds awesome ;)

If you guys listen closely you can hear his floor tom. I have an idea of the beat he's doing. Dave is fucking amazing!
