Saint Fiacre | Stories of Saints
Saint Fiacre (died c. 670) was an Irish monk renowned for his piety and horticultural skills. He established a hermitage and a hospice in France, near Meaux, where he cultivated a garden that produced abundant food and herbs for the sick. Fiacre is often invoked for healing and relief from physical ailments. His legacy is celebrated on August 30th, and his association with gardening has led to him being considered the patron saint of gardeners and taxi drivers. Saint Fiacre's life reflects the values of faith, self-sufficiency, and compassionate care for those in need.
