I go to an old country church 50 miles from where I live and it is well worth the drive every Sunday. Grew up in a small one room church and the hymns were, and still are like gold in a memory vault to me.
There is a church in the woods on Lookout Mountain, Alabama side. Been there many times but live too far away in Louisiana to attend. Favorite church ever. Mountain people self-taught play music. It is a Signs Following Church. If you know what that means. Faith healing, prophesying. Holy Ghost. Love that church. Up on the mountain above Ft. Payne. Go up on the mt., then turn left and go a ways past the State Park. It's tucked back on the left nestled in the trees.
we drive an hour one way to our 80+ year old country church with the hard wood floors, literally built on rock cornerstones. we still have two old out houses behind the church, however we do have indoor bathrooms to use now. We use one piano, one guitar, still sing from an old "Church Hymnal", have mourners benches(altars) for folks to pray at and still preach out of the KJV Holy Bible. We still believe JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday, today and forever. We believe in the old time salvation from sin, sanctification and the blessed Holy Ghost baptism is still for the faithful believers today. Our church is the Westminster Pentecostal Fire Baptized Holiness Church 317 Hobson Street, Westminster, SC 29693 We still believe you need to be holy living people, dress modestly and sing spiritual songs and hymns.
I would like to but I don't know for sure how to do that. I just have a "dumb" phone with no internet with it. :( I am curious about "Glencoe" ) I went to school in Glencoe, Ok and lived in Payne county for about 20 years before I moved to SC SO how did you come up with "Glencoe"?
I love the OLD Time singing of hymns and spiritual songs. My wife is a great singer! I would love to be able sometime to put us singing on her to encourage others. Some have asked for us for recordings but not sure how to go about getting that done.

On state road 64 in eastern manatee county bBradenton Fla cant never replace the best years of my life this song brings tears to my eyes. Mama grandma and grandpa and my beloved brother Gene will meet around the throne of God one sweet dayand for ever more we will all live in our Heavenly Home with our family and friends and most of all to look upon our Master Face. Amen what a Glorious Day That will be when our Lord and Saviour we shall see amen
