      Thank you! If it helps, in my head cannon Ive decided that left-handed people are as common in the fallout world as right handers are in the real world. It helps explain why all guns are backwards in our (now uniquely) right handed protagonist. It's bullshit I know, but,it helped me enjoy the guns a little more without cringing at everything. Plus I now have inherited a left-handed bolt action Remington 700 and it's actually pretty comfortable to use as a righty, and even the fallout 4 bolt action reload while awkward at first is really simple to do

    • @viriiistormrage5996
      @viriiistormrage5996 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @the_13th_dr32 5.56 is definitely NOT a varmint round lol, it's more than sufficient to kill or wound a man through most things it would need to, 7.62x51 is a bigger round with more punch, yes, but in this case, it's not enough to matter, given that it has a lower velocity than 5.56, velocity being what's needed to penetrate armor, and it is much heavier, which requires reduced ammunition capacity on the person, and thus limiting firepower more than 5.56 would, it also has much too high of a recoil impulse to be effectively fired automatically. (Look at the train wreck that was the M14 to see how that one went.) There's a reason that pretty much no self respecting military in the world is still standardized on 7.62x51... You're probably the same type of person that argues 7.62x39 is better than 5.56, when they are for all intents and purposes, similar enough. 5.45 is still Russian government bullshit though, really no reason for it to exist since it actually is inferior to 7.62x39.
      Tl;dr, .308/7.62x51 is a cartridge that should be reserved for marksman rifles and marksman rifles only, it is not as useful as 5.56 in an assault rifle role, and trumped by .338 Lapua Magnum or .408 CheyTac in a sniper role. (You probably also think that .50 BMG is a sniper cartridge, but you'd be wrong~)
      Ah, and if you wanna call bullshit on the velocity thing, look it up, standard 5.56 M193 ball has more velocity than 7.62x51 M80 ball. (3260 ft/s for M193 and 2800 ft/s for M80.)

      Angmor Dagnithil you’ll damage the revolver over time which will fuck up the timing and that can cause cylinder misalignment with the forcing cone which can in turn cause stuff like lead and extra gas shooting out the sides and also in time potentially cause the thing to blow up.

    Anyone who's played Pavlov or other VR FPS certainly begin to get an idea of how important reloads are. I often die because I spent a good few seconds fumbling the magazine, while being able to 'press r to reload' would certainly allowed me to survive.

    A big thing that I’m surprised no one caught is that there is no such thing as an AK-47 with the charging handle on the left side of the gun, meaning it is not left-handed friendly

    I like what you said about having access to firearms. Most game devs see to either be located in New York, California, or pretty much all over Europe. It’s no that these places don’t have access to guns, but they’re much more restricted on what you can have and where to get them. Maybe FPS games should be made in Texas. Then you can find a civilian legal version of pretty much anything and play around with them.

    I have airsoft G36C, tip that you may not know - you can reload it aggressevly like AK
    Take a new mag, and soft but quick smash the reload pedal by mag and push old mag by new
    It works, but i honestly do not recommend do this if you stand on cement floor or some other hard floor

    6:20 actually that is one of the few that actually kinda works. Ar15/m4/m16 bolt hold open is just barely in the way and I've even seen guys close the bolt by shouldering the rifle really hard

  • @nuclearpopsiclestand9245
    @nuclearpopsiclestand9245 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Technically you can send the bolt home on most semiautomatic rifles by hitting the side of it really hard, but the practice is not recommended for the longevity of the bolt catch.

    The AR reload animation in ghost recon wildlands LITERALLY KILLED the game for me. The bolt doesn't lock back and the bolt catch
    elease is forgotten. You have to rack the charging handle EVERYTIME you reload even during a tactical reload. Ubisoft knows dick about guns.

  • @killfang8
    @killfang8 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    just an fyi, you CAN actually close a bolt by slapping the mag in harder on most modern sporting guns (AR's) if all else fails on an MSR platform and the bolts stuck open, you can smack the stock on the ground or with the palm of your hand and it''ll usually slam shut

    • @EternalDeath14
      @EternalDeath14 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You risk popping a cartridge out of the magazine and inducing a malfunction when loading fully loaded magazines and slapping in the magazine on a locked back bolt. I would HIGHLY recommend against doing that.

    • @killfang8
      @killfang8 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EternalDeath14 That's true as well, but I am referencing to when your bolt is locked back, and the charging handle or bolt release method is not working, you can quite literally force the bolt to disengage from it's locked position by slamming the butt stock and in some cases the magazine slap works as well. I'm not saying it's preferred over other techniques but it absolutely does work

    • @EternalDeath14
      @EternalDeath14 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@killfang8 Yeah I know, I've done it before. You have to give it a good whack though.

    • @killfang8
      @killfang8 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EternalDeath14 haha, part of my career is gunsmithing and I have had some MSR types that were basically auto loaders. The second the mag was inserted the bolt would slam forward because the metal was so worn down or the spring detent was whittled down or in peices.
      On a well kept standard ar yeah you gotta hit tue thing pretty hard to close that locked bolt but its a unique thing if anything
