I’m part Colombian as well! I speak fluent English and some Spanish since I was born in the US. I’m learning Russian as my third language. I live in a rural area in Texas where’s there’s no Russian speakers at all. So I have to rely on a lot of TH-cam videos to help me. I’m trying to watch some Russian shows and movies as well to assist me.

That was a great conversation. I'm fighting to learn this language right now and it is tough when you're not placed into a situation of force to learn it. Maybe that is the issue, to truly grasp the language there has to be immersion.

Unless a person is sponsored by an employer getting a Russian work permit is next to impossible. Keep in mind that even in this case you will be forced to shell out a hefty bribe since corruption is rife in Russia. Living in Russia is not for the faint of heart.

Yea, I would love to work in Russia for a few years for the experience and to better learn the language but those things are "easier said than done" (another of those idioms). There is a student exchange program with most Universities that can help transition someone as long as you are a student but if have to work and you have a family then that sort of move becomes really complicated.
