We had a bunch of these sitting, and then suddenly all sold...The premium or limited , in my opinion, is one of the best games Stern ahs made in 3 years
Ralph… I started out like you…. Picking up and refurbing arcade machines. Then, the pinball bug got me. Trust me, keep the 2 pins and dump some arcades. You can always do a multicade system on one of your cabs in a non invasive manner. Hell, I have a vertical and a horizontal multi that plays damn near every classic arcade game I need. Have both JP and ST pins and they get FAR more play than any of the arcades. Oh…grab the UV kit for the ST pin. Its awesome! Keep up the entertaining vids. They are appreciated! Matt
Pins are always better than Arcade machines, some Pins have insane atmosphere and if you have 1 machine you need 2 then 3… but the Prices are rising. In germany a Stranger Things pro costs 8000+ (used). Retroralph you are little bit to late for this Hobby. In 2014 i get an T2 for 2000 euros and now he costs 5000. This Hobby needs know a bigger Budget and that sucks.
I was SO close to grabbing this in the Fall. The price got jacked by another $1k by the seller I was looking at while I was debating and at that point I bailed.
All the new pins had their prices raised. At least its a Stern price. I would love a Jersey Jack Willy Wonka pinball but their prices start around $11k new
I did same thing but I used PayPal credit 24 months 0% interest. Now I got 4 pins and now medieval madness remake is coming 2023 🤦 . They are vending machines designed to make money, put it on location make some money.
Ralph, before you consider selling the Stranger Things, please find and install the UV kit. It does something pretty amazing during the Upside Down modes. ST and JP are very different games, and it's unfortunate you can't keep both. But feel free to take as long as you want enjoying both before selling, because you will absolutely get your money back if you do end up selling. I would love to buy a Stranger Things but I'm out of room in the game room and can't bear to part with any of my current machines.
I love my StTh LE, the soundtrack is amazing. I would get the UV kit asap since it adds so much and the shaker is a nice touch for just over 100 bucks, and hook up a Pinnovators subwoofer kit. It’s too bad the projector wasn’t on the pro…
I can see the headline now, "Husband killed no charges filed against wife" And I thought I screwed up having two of the same Arcade1Up Star Wars pinball machines. 🤣
I was just listening to a podcast about the stern connection machine. It seems cool and is almost like an achievement you would get on Xbox. It does more than that too.
I've heard of some issues with Stern tables electronics starting to act up 6-8 months down the road. I hope they ironed that stuff out because no one else is doing anything to close to this level with pinball.
I completely understand where you're at and have been in the same situation LOL. Some of the games I picked up have been from getting rid of things I know that I had to have at the time and then decided I really wanted something else more. The danger of PayPal credit which gives you 6 months to pay it off is a long time with no interest... LOL. Red Tent anyone? A couple night gotten two projects? A potential portion of a tax return? The next thing you know you've got some of your room back and you've actually got an awesome pin that people will completely go bananas over that will go up in value as well. Pinballs are like playable savings accounts that you can get rid of really fast if you needed to but in the meantime you have something awesome. But believe me you rarely get rid of them once you get them unless you're trading them or selling them more or less for another pinball LOL.
I play this machine a lot at the arcade near me. It's so much fun! If I had a choice of any of the stern machines, I would go for the Ghostbusters pinball. That is my go-to pinball machine at the arcade. I love it.
I do remember that 😂 something happened at pinball expo last year that turned the page for me. I guess I didn't realize how fun some of the games are. Anyway, nice to see you in the comments man! I hope all is well!
Jurassic Park is better game, imo. Timeless theme. Stranger Things machine looks very cool, but I can see that it has issues with air balls hitting those drop targets and off the ramp. I bet the playfield gets beat up pretty badly.
My family went to an arcade with 20+ pinball machines new and old. My kids and wife agreed Stranger Things was the best machine there. Pretty fun and different than most other modern Sterns. Good choice. Me, I still prefer Simpsons Pinball Party.
Dude, you crack me up and your goofiness is at epic levels on this video which I love. I am a huge Stranger Things fan and would have kept that Pinball as well. You should do Kim's reaction when she found out or did she, oops. LOL As always man love your passion for arcades and pinballs.
Keep em both! I have 3 now! Got them all last year. I bought Avengers Infinty Quest premium in June. It was my first new in box machine. Next I bought Stranger Things pro about 3 months later. I preordered Godzilla because I didn’t think it’d be here until this year but got the call in December which was waaaaay earlier than I thought. Oops. Oh well. Keeping em all! Haha! Definitely get out and try Godzilla if you haven’t yet, Ralph! Either version is so much fun to shoot!
Awesome. Good luck with sale on the Jurassic. These new pinballs are crazy. Hoping I can find a decent 90s data east I used to love playing those, like Theatre Magic but $$$ also!
🤣 Ralph my friend... "The dude abides" The more the merrier but I understand the predicament. I always figured you for a Bitcoin OG like me. 😉 Jurassic Park is awesome, but Stranger Things has better ramps for my taste. Especially when you add the extra tracks.
Arcades have completely taken over your life to the point you forgot you had a pin on pre order 😂 🤣 🤣. Love it! I'm not a huge fan of the newer Stern's, but a friend of mine has a ST and he likes it a lot. I don't think either pin will do you wrong, whatever you decide to keep.
PS Don't sell, you will end up trading all your arcade cabs for pins in the next couple of years...You are on like Step 6 of the 12 Step arcade addict program : )
Oh man, I've been on the market for a Jurrassic Park Pinball for a while now. So tempting! Nice score with the stranger things Pro, hope you pre-ordered before last summer's price hikes!
Love em both- but yes the Jurassic park I can see leaning at parting with-or if there are a couple of those project arcades that you don’t think you will even get too, i would part with those first before letting go of the pinballs- just way more replay value. Great machine bro!!!! Thanks for sharing👍
I wish I was closer to AZ :) I need to start my silverball investment portfolio :) Since you mentioned the Rush machine, we're right across the border from Canada, and a high school friend got me into Rush back in the day. I've watched a few streams on the new machine, and it looks good, but I don't know if I'd pick that one as my entrance into pins. Song selection is solid and there's an amazing number of Easter eggs for fans in the artwork. A local arcade is getting one and has an unveiling in early March planned.
Retro, just bought myself one… have you looked into how to add the UV kit with the new machines with insider connected? Previously you had to swap out aprons. Hard to imagine you would still need to do the same thing for the newest models.
I was able to find a UV kit for sale this weekend. I ordered it so I will likely do a video on installing it. I wonder why you would need to swap out the apron. I thought I read that somewhere too. Did you order the UV kit as well?
Great Brian Eddy game. I never understand the hate for ST. Honestly, as a pinhead I think you should sell some arcade games and keep it, but I get it man -- you do you!
@@RetroRalph I mean you have two great games. JP is like universally loved. This is the time when you can prob get some MAJOR cash for it tho. Especially since yours is so nice. I actually think the PRO of JP is as fun as the premium and LE. Shoots the same. Sure, you don't get the crazy t-rex mech, but other than that you aren't losing much.
You made the right choice on the pinball. However you made the wrong choice on Rush! 😂 j/k However, they were a big part of my childhood arcade soundtrack. Congrats on the sweet score! Enjoy!
I want the Godzilla Stern Pinball, but $7K for the Pro model. Oof. I like Stranger Things, but Jurassic Park is timeless. There's more of a nostalgia factor there for me.
How much are you asking for the Jurassic Park Pin? I live close by in North Phoenix so I could pick it up from you if I decide to buy. I already own one much older pinball table.
@@RetroRalph Sounds good, give me a head's up if you change your mind on either Pin. I know once you get the pinball bug it's tough to let go of them. I use to have a Theater of Magic pin and it was sooooo hard to let it go. Now I only have the first pin I ever played as a kid. It is an old school EM pin called Orbit. I currently can't get it to turn on. Do you know of anyone locally that could figure out what's wrong? Any help is appreciated and keep up the great work on your channel. I watch it every week. Take care.
Holy Toledo Ralph!! I thought you didn't have any more room!!! lol According to my internet sources, that Stranger Things machines is listed as "No Further Production"...so if you ever (one day) do chose to sell it, that may increase its value!
its a nice looking table i do know people who have played that game & they love it. i have never seen the entire outside of your house is it possible to add a 2nd floor to the garage? kim did say you could keep games in the garage or with valentines day coming up tell kim the table is for her & then you can keep both tables
You'll have no problem moving either of those for at least what you paid. If you end up keeping the Stranger Things you for sure need to upgrade to the UV light kit plastics. If you don't know what that is you should look it up. Stranger Things is a great game now that was really lame at the open before the code updates. Play them a few months and sell before the manufactures catch up.
Ive had both love both, I will say play ST a bunch before you make a decision, long story short ST needs a bunch of tweaking to get playing "correct", check out chuckwurts videos. Demo gorgon ramp could be incorrectly pitched causing you to have to take the demogorgon apart and remove spacers. Yours seems to be hitting high which isnt bad
This is how the pinball addiction begins lol. Good choice to keep ST. Want to see a video on the differences with the code. Cheers bro! 👍🏼 P S. I just got myself a rare Big Lebowski delivered 🙂
How good are you in maintenance on Pinball Machines, I've seen you know your way around arcade machines. Been checking some restoration vids at Joe's Classic Video Games, it can be quit tricky if these machines start acting up. Also I would have to go with Wicked and sell some arcade machine, but that's simply cause I couldn't choose between Jurassic Parc and Stanger Things pinball. Good luck with selling whatever you end up doing en and keep up the good work on the channel.
You can always sell some vids and keep both... Any chance did you load the alternate code (rules the same, but a bunch of movie assets) in JP? JP is probably a better pin, but like you said - personal preference.
Pins are a beast that I haven't taken on yet. All of the electronics have always deterred me a bit, mainly out of lack of knowledge on repairs. However, 1 day I definitely plan on having a 'Twilight Zone' machine.
HOLD... pins are like Crypto! in a year you can make money selling one! I started with Arcades got up to 11 and pivoted to Pins I now have 4 (working) and 5 pins which have all tripled in value since I bought them.
Ditch the Stranger Things. Jurassic Park is legendary. Stranger Things is a fad. I stopped watching after the first episode of season 2 showed arcade games with LCDs and running a garbage 60-in-1.
The pinball bubble has to burst soon the prices are way out of hand. I started my collection 20 years ago when prices were cheap. Dont think they will ever be that low again but when 30-40 year old machines cost as much as new machines 🤔
I got my ST in November and I love it. JP is a great game as well which I’d like to own sometime. Both are great and can’t go wrong with them. Also make sure to get the UV kit, it’s amazing. EDIT: UV kit doesn’t work with Insider Connected at the moment due to the different apron it needs.
They make stranger things UV connected aprons now. You can also put a premium metal apron on a pro. Also, there’s a guy on pinside selling a coindoor connected setup which is pretty cool.
This is the more polished version of the apology after Ralph did a run through with his wife. I know because I give this same speech to my family monthly. Keep Jurassic Park.
You’re making a mistake not keeping Jurassic Park. That game is easily one of the deepest rulesets in pinball. It isn’t easily beaten, and will last you a very long time. Stranger Things is a traditional fan layout with very little substance. Sure it’s fun, but it’s nothing special.
Don't make a quick decision. Sleep on it for a few years and then decide which one to sell. By then you will have it paid off and can use that money on something else that you want at that time.
Well. I'll tell you this. I own both ST and JP premium machines. The whole "cost of ownership is staggering" comment I saw is a bit far fetched. Yes, they have moving parts and you'll be waxing the playfield (every 500 plays), I replace balls (1.25 a piece). But I'll say that Stranger Things is a more straight forward game and beginner friendly vs Jurassic Park has much more complex shots to make but has great flow. I'm pretty sure my ST won't leave my house. You should do what you can to get a UV kit for Stranger Things though (get the official stern and not an aftermarket if you can). Really adds to the upside down mode and other times they put it in. But interesting you got the cleland code running on the insider connected machine. I heart issues with stuff like Guardians of the Galaxy not able to run old code on the new boards.
We had a bunch of these sitting, and then suddenly all sold...The premium or limited , in my opinion, is one of the best games Stern ahs made in 3 years
PRO IS VERY GOOD AS WELL, IF YOU DONT NEED THE PROJECTOR.
Keep them both! I’m up to 4 after taking the plunge and can’t stop looking for more! So much fun!
I'm sure the "I forgot" defense worked real well with the wife.

Im so glad I decided to get my street fighter and super mario bros pinball last year for a really good deal. If i tried that today id be broke
The pinball bubble has to burst soon the prices are way out of hand. I started my collection 20 years ago when prices were cheap. Dont think they will ever be that low again but when 30-40 year old machines cost as much as new machines 🤔
I agree man, it seems like it wouldn't be sustainable at these prices.
@@bradyhearn3896 you know where I can get the UV connected one? Checked a couple websites including Stern and couldn’t find it. Thanks!
@@bradyhearn3896 wow I just looked up the coin door version, that is awesome. I may do this way on all my machines, thanks for the info!
Pins are different animals… they are complex machines to repair with a plethora of moving parts, and the cost of ownership is staggering.
Just keep Jurassic Park! 😎👍
This is the more polished version of the apology after Ralph did a run through with his wife. I know because I give this same speech to my family monthly. Keep Jurassic Park.
Got to buy the uv light kit.
I really want to, the pin stadium one is very expensive. 😳
Stranger Things is no longer being made by Stern...that's the rumor....
WOW Rafa, must be nice to have that kind of issue.... MORE GAMES, MORE PROBLEMS
That's Awesome goodstuff
Stranger things have happened, at least you got to have fun with it and put it to the test and you decided to keep it.
You’re making a mistake not keeping Jurassic Park. That game is easily one of the deepest rulesets in pinball. It isn’t easily beaten, and will last you a very long time. Stranger Things is a traditional fan layout with very little substance. Sure it’s fun, but it’s nothing special.
I decided to keep them both. I'm going to sell a few of my arcade games. Thanks so much for watching!
@@RetroRalph what arcade games are you selling?
I'm jealous! Nice! My wife would kill me.
