Agree on everything but actors and athletes. Most of them come from humble beginnings and have worked very hard to get where they are. If actors and athletes made less do you think the price of movie or game tickets or cable tv would be less. I think the greedy corporations would just keep more.
@@maxpayne2574 Clearly it’s gotten out of hand. There are lots of people out there that work just as hard as the aforementioned and make barely enough to stay above the poverty line. But yes corporations are our masters and it will never stop, until people stop consuming way more than we need.
Consumer electronics were much less affordable in the 1970s than they are today! You just proved the point by saying that the average cost of a TV or hi-fi equipment averaged around $500- the equivalent of $3,100 today! Technology has generally become cheaper and more accessible over the last 50 years. It was NOT 'way cheaper' in the 1970s and this applies to many mass produced consumer products.
Clothing cost was higher than now. $8 was like $80 back then. You made sure you got shirts and shoes fixed. 50 cents would make them like new. Today we just spend $8 like it is nothing.
The average house in the 70's used 60 amp transmission feed. Todays house needs 120 amp transmission feed. I found this out in the middle of winter last year when my house had to be re-wired and up to date circuit breakers. It cost $2,000. I'm saving on my electric bill because I'm no longer straining the 1 line.
Used cars for super cheap and abundant. I found an old newspaper in my parents attic from the mid to late 1970s 125 for a Camaro Mustang Chevelle whatever you like a couple hundred dollars was the most you were going to pay. I think it had something to do with the gas crunch being with the cars were less than 10 years old🎉
I cannot remember the last time I have looked at a newspaper or a magazine. Computers made them obsolete. The new smart phones are making the computers obsolete.
This is 1 of many reasons we need Well Regulated capitalism. When Republicans started the deregulate big corporations movement we got lower wages and higher prices. If it was up to them we would all work for .50 cents an hour with no benefits.
Wages have not kept up with inflation. And corporate greed is out of control.
And actors and pro sports players get paid too much.

Car companies pay 5% taxes. The car maker employees pay 38% taxes. See the loop hole?

greed
Corporate GREED is what causes inflation......

You showed a Marantz receiver. The old models still hold their value today. Used selling for $900. A brand new Marantz receiver cost about the same.
I still have all my Marantz stereo pieces (receiver, turntable, cassette player). They all work great!!
@@geeky12ful The quality is still the same.
Your giving me the blues .
Let's face it, EVERYTHING was way cheaper in the 1970's. My mom would do a week's worth of shopping for $25 for a family of 3.
I cannot remember the last time I have looked at a newspaper or a magazine. Computers made them obsolete. The new smart phones are making the computers obsolete.

Looks like a little over 10% increase each decade since then.
Houses are high because corporations and real estate investors buy up all the houses decreasing the supply. Get the facts straight.
Capitalism = corporate greed
Yes that is why we need well regulated capitalism.
It’s called inflation. Gotta love Bidenomics.
And pretty girls too!
