The only things Michigan Masons and many other jurisdictions hold as Masonic secrets (those things a brother has promised not to reveal) are the "Methods of Recognition". Specifically, the "Methods of Recognition" are the grips, words, signs, and due guards of the different degrees. At no time in any of our videos do we show these things nor describe them at any level of detail to be in violation of our promises. Also, this particular video is of a ritual that is open to the public which means it has already been designed for non-masons to view. Just to be safe, I know many masons who keep everything in masonry secret because they don't know what exactly they're supposed to keep secret. Stories about grandfathers never saying anything about the fraternity are pretty common. Believe it or not, I could sit here and write the whole apron talk and not be in violation of any masonic rules, because that talk doesn't involve any of the methods of recognition. There are other reasons I might want to keep the apron talk secret, however, but not because it is against the rules to reveal it.
