Lhakyi, the singer in this video, lives in Chengdu with her family, as do many other famous Tibetan singers. I’m a very close friend with one of them, and know their circle pretty well. They only travel to the highlands to perform. Should they have to choose between the Han Chinese or you people in exile to associate with, I seriously doubt they are going to choose you. I hope you have a good life on the south side of Himalayas or wherever you are. Tibetans in China are doing very well, and at least my Khampa singer friend couldn’t care less about those in exile. Stop that “free Tibet” nonsense. Tibetans in China are free to live wherever they want, free to choose whatever profession they want, and free to worship Buddha however they want.
