"Love Is in Control (Finger on the Trigger)" is a Grammy-nominated single from Donna Summer's self-titled 1982 studio album. The single was her 12th top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This was a great album! "State of Independence", "The Woman in Me" and "Protection", a great rock song written by Bruce Springsteen.

Great reaction to a great song by Donna. There a two other 80's songs by her not heard to often anymore but are just so wonderful and different for her. The first one is "The Wanderer" and the second is "Dinner With Gershwin". Her version of "State of Independence" is a must listen.

Donna was 6 months pregnant when she recorded this album (she found it hard to sing). Two videos and the album cover were shot at the same shoot, Donna was apparently 5/6 weeks from giving birth to her daughter Amanda, which in this video you can see them hiding her baby bump behind a big belt and you can see it in the black suit. Talk about working hard for the money !

GREAT -- GREAT groove !!! This was one of those 80s songs that was a transition from the Disco era into the 80s Electro Funk groove. 💓💓💓💓 Luuuuv Donna Summer 🙌😎👍🔥

I think this was one of her BEST songs and it was her transitioning out of the disco era...

Your just like me. I love the Fall the most but Spring is so good too! Oh Donna Summers. Her best time as a singer was in the Disco days in the 70's. Love this!!

Always reminds me of the roller skating rink. Ours always turned down the lights and turned on the swirling colored disco lights for this one. Always really liked that effect with this song. Fun times.

Quincy Jones produced it. This came out a couple years after MJ’s Off the Wall and the same year as Thriller (also produced by QJ).

This is a more Funky Donna Summer, sounding a lot like something Michael Jackson would do, of course with MJ's producer Quincy Jones. Also co-written by Quincy and funk group "Heatwave's" keyboardist & main writer Rod Temperton!....This is definitely my favorite Donna Summer jam!....Anyway, Good reaction!

Donna Summer was a great disco singer, I feel Love was a 70's classic. In 80's a slightly different sound but still really good . Like this one , got my foot tapping. Another good 80's one a bit later was 'This time I know its for real'-Colin Ward

Quincy Jones 🙌🏽 This is one of my favorite DS songs. Such a great change of pace for the disco queen. Shout out to Q’s ppl on back-up. 👏🏾 Angela, I post this with the *UTMOST* respect: sometimes you OVERANALYZE songs. This was a jam; ain’t nobody thinkin’ ‘bout no stinkin’ lyrics. Feel me? 😉✌🏽

If you cant groove and jam to the incomparable Donna Summer then just give up. And yes the whistle is a callback to her disco diva sound. ❤

Some good songs from Donna . As for 80's women I would think This Mortal Coil , Song to the Siren is a pretty decent 80's tune

Yep, the song PYT (Pretty Young Thing) from Thriller, released the next year in September 83, also peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 as did this song.
