Good one!! With that twisted conclusion!!! Thank you for posting these cool episodes!🙏 As I write, this huge black crow outside just made a loud call, which freaked out my cat😆
Listening to this episode, with its delightful twist ending, I can see how greatly Suspense influenced Al Feldstein when he was writing the iconic EC horror comics of the early fifties.
My grandma used to "take the door off the chain" and she could never understand why I laughed every single time. She would get so irritated at me and then start muttering under her breath that "we used to say it like that, that's all." Brought back a great memory for me, irritating my grandma. LOL.

Awesome. This is my favorite Suspense story, and I must say I prefer Robert Montgomery's version of this to the original with Joseph Cotten.
Robert Montgomery was the father of Elizabeth Montgomery who played Samantha on Bewitched. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Loved this one with its twists and turns.
This presages HItchcock's famous film.

Hi Harper
I think it would be easier to "take the chain off the door" than to "take the door off the chain" as the guy said!
Jeffrey Berkin... I know! LOL
