An icharger DX10 or DX12 would be awesome. Or an opportunit to.configure this unit to act as a 1ch >8S device. But the feature to measure individual cell capacities for each cell is already implented in the current X6, X8, X12, right? But only in charge mode unfortunately
The DX12 would be awesome. The ability to put channels in series would also be awesome but I doubt it will happen. Yes the entire X and S series lineups have individual cell capacity ability. It’s the best feature on any charger IMO.
I am in the market for a new charger as my X6 no longer works, the stupid side nub broke :( -yet the new DX8 seems a bit dissapointing, I would have hoped for a larger display at least. This looks like all their other chargers just re-packaged and some slight modifications w/ the charger/discharge rate. The 10yr old Duo 406 still looks like the best option.

I don’t have any how to’s on the iChargers at the moment but it’s really not hard at all. Go to the page where you select LiPo but instead of selecting it, hold the center button down and another list will pop up. Choose Edit and go from there 🤙
Greetings. I have owned a DX6 charger for a few days. Sometimes when trying to load or storage, error 2120 "balance port connection error" appears. Do you know anything about this issue? I can't find any firmware version to correct this problem... best regards!
I have two guesses but I don’t know for sure: 1- your battery has a BMS that is cutting the output to the balance lead when storing. Disabling balancing *while storing or discharging* might solve this. 2- the connectors on your balance lead are not making a good connection to the charger. If it’s neither of these two then the charger could be failing. Hope this info helps 🤙
I've got a 406 duo. I'm in the market for a new charger, scroll wheel getting jumpy. I'm surprised with the new packs coming out at 10C charge rates, currently charging one of my long stick packs at 63 amps. This new DX6 seems like a downgrade for power output or am I missing something here? Thanks
Yup, it’s a downgrade on power but it’s like half the size. I think a lot of people prefer the smaller sized chargers these days but if you need big power there’s no replacing a Duo 🤙
It’s going to be released when the DX8 stops selling out right away, basically. Junsi wouldn’t release a new charger that would slow the sale of another. No firm ETA but probably next spring in all likelihood 🤙
@@ChaddRainsFPV that is kinda stupid. Two different chargers for different needs. I have no 8s packs and honestly don’t know anyone that does. So it doesn’t make sense to not offer the 6s model at the same time.

Shipment should be on its way any day. Shenzhen went back into lockdown earlier this month and delayed their shipments to the US. They should have been in 2 weeks ago. As far as I know they are out of lockdown now and chargers should be arriving to the US soon 🤙
Not yet. I thought it was weird that it wasn’t a double release, but it makes sense. iCharger is updating the 308Duo so there wouldn’t be a 30 amp- dual channel charger. And on top of that, releasing one at a time probably is better for sales. I will do an update on my tests with DX8 soon and give more info on the DX6 when I get it 🤙

It’s been nice but I haven’t had much time for testing. Seems like a mini 308Duo so far tho! I also have it on hood word that the 308Duo will be updated to a “408Duo” at some point. The Duos aren’t going anywhere but the DX series will likely be their modular series moving forward 🤙
I currently use two S6's is so that I can discharge using external resistor bank with one, while simultaneously charging with the other. You can't do that with the Duo's. Can you do that with this new DX6?
Interesting! I will have to check the manual for that one. You can definitely discharge from channel 1 into channel 2, which accomplishes something similar but not the same thing. I would assume the circuitry should allow for ‘in-line’ resistor banks to be used and weather or not this was added as a feature comes down to Junsi being pestered to do it 🤙
@@ChaddRainsFPV it appears on pg34 that external resistors can be used, but its not explicitly clear; intuitively one would think in asynchronous mode, each channel is independent and theoretically each channel could utilize external resistor bank in-line, but as its not doable with the Duo406, not sure here. The Duo406 is capable of 20A discharge without any external resistors - not sure what the DX6 is capable of natively? Looking forward to a full test once its available
@@bmobilelcompute2796 One just came in for testing! I won’t have much time but will try to get some cycles going on soon. The 406 can do a full 40 amp discharge on a battery if it’s under 2v. Pretty rare to be testing a single cell LiFE/LTO or NiXX cell but those are applications where a 406 can do 40 amps without regen or resistor. Will try to get some tests done soon 🤙

Been using the charger for a bit and it’s been great! ProgressiveRC has a few of them in stock as of April 8. I haven’t had time to do a follow up video on the DX8 alone, but I am actually using it to show how I properly test lithium batteries 🤙

@@elliotbaltazar Yup, the interface is nearly identical. No TAB button the DX8 so you hold down the wheel for 2 seconds to ‘tab’ instead. Keep that 406 running strong man it’s a good charger 🤙

I like the 308 Duo over the 406 but yea. This is better for logging but if you don’t do that it’s only better in terms of cost 🤙

I use a handful of different power supplies but I prefer either the S1200 from Chargery or the MeanWell RSP-1000-24 if you need something compact 🤙

Not as bad as the x6, x8 or x12 wheel lol. I agree the original Duo’s wheels are slightly better. But the DX isn’t terrible
