I was a part of the choir that sang the Hosanna Anthem last June 13, 2020 at the dedication of the Cebu City Philippines Temple. I will never forget that experience.
Singing the Hosanna Anthem is the kind of experience you will carry in your heart, even to eternity. I'm so grateful for having found this piece on TH-cam - reminded me of the burst of the Spirit filling ALL the celestial room, the confirmation of our testimony, and actually feeling that the Lord was definitely accepting His House!!! Hosanna to God and the Lamb!
This song and arrangement is how I imagine the music and Spirit will be when Jesus Christ returns to His world at the Second Coming. Even more glorious. He will be here before you know it to restore peace to His world.
Look a little more carefully…I had to have a small giggle…he looks around and sees others get up…says let’s do it lol. Not denying the good intent but he takes a good look around lol.
I remember when I was still serving a full-time mission and attending this Bicentennial General conference virtually, my companion and I cried whilst singing with the choir and I know it is because of so much joy we felt, to the point we both hugged each other. I know the Spirit of the Lord poured out to us that day! I will never forget this! ❤️
He was a choir director at a high school . Very good one. The last time I seen him was when he directed the audience at Brother Jerrold Ottley"s funeral. Still great then.
Every time I rewatch this video I’m going to comment that each time without fail, I regain focus and feel peace. Not many things in this world are guaranteed to bring peace, really just one. Hope in the savior and this song always introduces the spirit long enough for that peace to fill my heart.
When I watched this I thought the guy standing was getting up to use the bathroom, but then I saw everyone else start to stand and by that point I can’t stop crying
Watch how many people in the congregation are wiping "happy" tears from their eyes.. Music and the spirit are a powerful combination. The work is true; isnt it?
There are several points here where I cant hold back my tears. First when everyone in the Conference Center began to stand up. Secondly seeing some members of the choir tearing up. They must’ve been practicing a lot for that musical number, but performing it for literally the most powerful people on earth and a packed conference center is another vibe!
The conductor was so filled with the spirit he really was sharing it with everyone there singing. It made you want to sing with the via TH-cam 💜. Thank you
i watch this often and i cry every time i am so moved. this is by far my favorite rendition of this song. i get chills and the spirit testifies the truthfullness of the gosple to me every time listen to this. i love it an it moves me and touches my soul every time oh how i love this blessed choir so. this is my go to music when i need a pick me up. thank you for your hard work and your lovely combined voices. i love you all and may the Lord bless and keep you always
This really caught me by surprise this Conference. I don't think I have ever heard such a beautiful piece of music before in my life! As someone said, I thought the heavens were about to burst open! Cannot hold back the tears every time I listen!
This is perhaps the most magnificent way I've ever heard or sang this hymn and anthem of this true Church of Jesus Christ! I was 5 years old at that time of this General Conference session in October 2000!
I was part of the the family found choir that sang this glorious hymn in the 1st session of the concepción, Chile temple dedication on 2018, I would always remembered that day and how strongly the spirit was that moment. Is one of the most beautiful and precious moment for me and my family ❤️
I’ve been watching this everyday from Japan since April 2020 General Conference, because this is remarkable, amazing, spiritual. I got so happy when I found this on TH-cam. Thank you very much for uploading. This video and today’s technology are the big blessing.
The Organist felt the Spirit of God and played so beautifully. I pray this word from God touches all of your lives whose eyes may fall upon it, through the Mercy, Power and Blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.
we sang this at our stake conference today and i just had to come back and appreciate the tabernacle choir for their glorious voices i can hear the bass singers so well probably because i’m bass😂
Olá Haroldo, ficamos muito felizes em saber que você aproveitou a Conferência Geral. Muito obrigado pelo seu comentário e por participar do nosso canal.
I’ve listened to this probably 100 times in gospel library, I always watch the video with earbuds in and the volume blasting. Always very moving, the performance and participation is soo special.
Where is this on the gospel library? The description on this video says April 2020 but the video says October 2020. Do you know which session it’s from?
A moment in the history of the world ! Those who have eyes to see . . . . . . Each of these moments when we, as the earthly kingdom of God, have participated in the Hosanna Shout is a milestone/hinge point in the history of Father’s timeline leading to Christ’s return. The Bridegroom cometh !
I had been looking forward to this hymn to be posted on youtube. I can't help it but every time I watch it, it brings me to tears. 20 years have passed since this took place as part of the dedicatory session of the Conference Center in SLC and the spirit is still felt so strongly as it was at that time so that it moved attendants to stand up. As a musician myself, I'm very thankful for the power of music and I wish we all gave music the importance it deserves in our church meetings and in our own lives.
I've had the chance to sing this anthem twice in Mexico City temple dedication, it's such a powerful hymn, invocation and benediction, all in one, and now all the world could sing it at home. just wonderful. my eyes get wet every single time. Hosanna to God and the Lamb!
Certainly an electric moment in conference. My wife and I were stunned! A moment I hoped could never end. Just what we needed during this time of COVID, fear and sorrow burned away in the strength of the spirit of gratitude, peace and the pure love of god. Brava!
I wasn't the only one moved to tears when singing 'The Spirit of God' section from the Hosanna Anthem in April 2020. And I was just a little baby back in October 2000.
I just noticed that several of the ladies and gentlemen of the choir was holding hankies for the very same reason I need one after watching this so many times. A sacred calling to try out and being called to move the world with music in this inspiring choir has to be one of the most glorious and solemn callings amongst others in the church.
*Lyrics:* Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna to God and the Lamb! Amen, Amen, and Amen! The House of the Lord is completed! The House of the Lord is completed! May our offering by Him be accepted. May our offering by Him be accepted. Amen. Amen. Rejoice, O ye saints whose patient faith and labor Have reared this house wherein today ye stand. Rejoice ye blessed departed saintly spirits! Behold your temple finished crowns the land! Rejoice ye souls awaiting your redemption!. The work speeds on to set the captive free. Thanks be to God for His eternal mercies! Thanks be to God for endless liberty. _(x2)_ _(Hymn "The Spirit of God")_ 1. The Spirit of God like a fire is burning! The latter-day glory begins to come forth; The visions and blessings of old are returning, And angels are coming to visit the earth. _(Refrain)_ We'll sing and we'll shout with the armies of heaven, Hosanna, hosanna to God and the Lamb! Let glory to them in the highest be given, Henceforth and forever, Amen and amen! 2. The Lord is extending the Saints' understanding, Restoring their judges and all as at first. The knowledge and power of God are expanding; The veil o'er the earth is beginning to burst. _(Refrain)_ Amen! Amen!
Thanks so much. I have searched for these lyrics for a long time. I will treasure these lyrics. Can't wait when the Nairobi Kenya Temple is completed and we sing this
I re listened to this song again today as I ended my fast for the Covid Pandemic to end and the people of the world can get back to work. As I listened I have felt that God has heard our prayers and will help us in the coming days. God Bless each and every one of us at this time and always remember Glory Be to our God forever and ever amen.
What glorious hymns these two are performed one after the other, Both played together makes a sensational affair that makes tears roll down my cheeks!!!
The LDS Tabernacle Choir music is great music for a Sunday. It's peaceful, not to loud & it soothes the soul. You canplay the Tabernacle choir any day of the week. I mostly play this music on Sundays.
seeing the woman tearing up while singing at 5:22 made me bawl. Just shows how strong the Spirit was in that center. Music is extremely powerful, especially when God is involved. EDIT: at the same timestamp, I just saw 2 more women in the same row tearing up too, which made me cry more.
You can see beggining from 2:45 that the men in the choir start wiping their tears. Given that they in the choir are used to powerful spiritual and musical experiences, this top them all! I still have goosebumps listening on video. Sang this Anthem twice in july 2000 for the dedication of the Merida Mexico Temple.
Shuffle played this after God So Loved The World from This is The Christ. I love that song, and the song of the albums namesake. Its a good flow knowing what Hosanna means.
I hope to see this marvelous anthem performed one day. I saw during the conference of this year (April 2020) and, even not understanding a word (since English is not my main language), I was astonished, it was simple amazing to hear it as also to sing it in my own language. ^^
While this was played as a part of the sesquicentennial celebrations conference it was as noted on the video done in the October 2000 conference at the dedication of the conference center. It is none the less a beautiful arrangement by Mac Wilberg who was the associate then.
This is a glorious hymn that captures the spirit of the restoration of the gospel for me. Does anyone have the lyrics to the Hosana Anthem? I can't find them anywhere online,
