It probably just seems that way because of the editing and in reality the walls were closing quite slowly with no actual weight or force behind them. If they were dangerous then I'd say it's crazy that nobody got hurt and even crazier that Mr Beast himself was willing to run through them so close to closing.

Apparently the indonesian representation is a football player based in the US (his father is indonesian), so there's theory (or people just got mad and tried to justified his 'robbery' lol) that he was rigged out to minimize the chance he went all the way to the final round.
