Hey so I found a bit of info about helekosi on Wikipedia. The other Tongan name is Lofa. There are two types of Lofa. Lofa Lalahi ( large) and Lofa iiki ( small). It’s in the family of the Frigata/Frigatidae.
@@niumotuu8642 ah thanks! I looked it up again a little while ago. And the big ones have the red gullet than expands. But I think the small ones are the only founds in Tonga. Very cool animal!
@@DanDoesKorea that’s the plan. I’ll be working and potentially starting my own business there 🤞🏻. What part of Canada are you from? I grew up in Bobcaygeon.
@@markmcmahon9085 I’ve been using the hero black 7 for about 3 years and it just keeps going. Great little camera. I also have the go pro max, but don’t use that too often because I can’t hook up a mic to it. I edit on Final Cut Pro. You’ll be making TH-cam videos while you’re there?
For this day, I finished 9 of your videos about Tonga. Thank you for sharing your life experiences. What a beautiful world that God created!
It’s been my pleasure getting to know Tonga and sharing some of it on TH-cam :)
Thank you so much for sharing! MY parents were born in Tonga and I love seeing it through your eyes!
Thank you for the wonderful comment. Tonga is a very special place for sure
Awesome video, Dan! Loved the view from your drone.....and the standoff with Mr. Crab, lol. Beautiful island!
Thanks! It was quite amazing out there. Hot, but beautiful :)
We were told that when those birds come around on
Land it means rain is coming. :). We called this bird Helekosi (scissors).
Ah good to know! Is that the Tongan name? I tried to find online but couldn’t

Love the crab and drone sequences
I got lucky with the crab. Shot on my iPhone. Great for close ups
WoW, you could easily be Sir David Attenborough camera man :), Thanks for the pics
Haha. I got lucky with the crab. That was taken on my iPhone. Gets better closeups than the GoPro apparently
Thanks. Good video. The west coast is warming up here 🇨🇦 and I’d like to visit this area.
Thank you ^^
You look see very nice.
Cool videos, I’ll be arriving in Vava’u probably June this year. Great to see a bit of your experience so far 🤙🏻.
Vava’u is pretty awesome! Get out and explore the islands. Water is best I’ve ever seen

Awesome videos! I'm moving out there in a month and cant wait!
What kind of camera are you using?
Thanks man! Enjoy Tonga :) I mostly use a GoPro 7. The crab was just shot with an Iphone XE and worked out really well.
@@DanDoesKorea Perfect! I've got a hero 7 white on the way. Are you using GoPro Quik for editing?

I miss all you guys too :)

You not afraid to swim? so many sharks around
Sharks are generally only feeding at that spot in the mornings. Afternoon swims are not a problem
