I think this game isn't exactly made for Dragon Ball but rather for a bunch of anime characters so they couldn't really do real service to DBZ fights like Xenoverse or FighterZ did. It disappointed me a little as well.

I’d rather them have the characters actually fight like their characters and not just have special moves for them the relates to them. I dislike wen everytime u land a hit it slows down for a second like street fighter. It slows the gameplay down significantly. I’m tired of playing these games where u can’t hit them back while they are hitting u or dodge in the middle of their combo like it doesn’t feel real. Just imagine if u got in a real fight and u can’t defend yourself or hit them back until they drop their combo. That fucking sucks.
