I lived in Newcastle as a child, and remember asking my mother about a poster stuck to a telegraph pole. It had an image of a very young Barry Humphries, advertising his show "A nice night out" ( I think). She immediately said his show was "riske" and of "dubious morality". I silently wished I could have gone. That Australia, BH's Menzies, Melbourne and Moonee Ponds Australia, has gone forever. How lucky were we to have him hold a humorous mirror up to early Australian society.
In a recent visit to Melbourne, I visited Christowel St, Camberwell, including Barry’s childhood home. The Silver Birch trees, English lawns and glorious homes are still there. No gum trees, no Wattles. Thank you Bazza, your contribution was without peer. RIP.
Barry was so gracious in his admonition; "Forgive me, you may not use those words in connection with my mother, anymore than I would take the liberty of so describing your mother". 18:40
I love Barry Humphries ♥️
I absolutely loved working with Barry back in late 1974 albeit a short television interview in Brisbane. Very fond memories. Cheers mate.

One of the best sessions with Barry I've seen - right on point all the way. RIP my lifelong media-driven friend.

He was absolutely fascinating and equally talented!
Much, much love for Barry from Florida USA! And Edna and Les, too! Barry, you will live on and on and on, on TH-cam! 😊

I don't think the interviewer's English. He sounds Australian to me
@@wrmty56413 Whoops! I'm sure you're right.
What a treasure we had/have in this man.
Thank you for posting this.
Excellent upload. Have seen bits of this, but so nice to see the full version. Thanks
Anyone know where the majority of the black and white footage at the start is from? I’ve had a good look and can’t seem to find it
