      Yeah, I'm not a former officer or anything but just from watching a lot of interrogations and interviews that police conduct it seems like a very common and usually effective tactic. Officers acting like they take statements at face value and asking for more details in a way that makes it sound like they're personally interested seems to go a long way. Making the person being interrogated feel comfortable often gets them to reveal more details than they otherwise would have.

    My sister had a lot of mental health issues and was paranoid. She snapped when our local mental health agency shut down and didn't help people find a new doctor. She wouldn't allow anyone by her and locked herself in her apartment and starved herself to death. The police couldn't take her to the hospital because shes an adult and wasn't "harming" anyone. I was out of town for a month because my autistic son needed 2 surgeries and our local hospital couldn't do it because it was complicated. By the time i got back it was too late. My sister was extremely smart. She had 2 degrees in political science and was a scrabble master she just had a lot of issues and the system failed her. I live with the guilt daily. The reason judges are given discretion to sentence outside of sentencing guidelines is because there are cases that just don’t fit perfectly within sentencing guidelines. It’s a move away from mandatory minimums which handcuffed the judge when sentencing people and resulted in the massive overcrowding of our prisons. There are some cases that just absolutely fugged people in the ace who didn’t deserve it, and it was clear that they didn’t deserve it, but due to mandatory minimums they just got completely railed by the system. I’m not saying that this POS didn’t deserve it, Just saying that is why they have moved away from a lot of mandatory minimums and gave discretion back to judges in certain instances.

    Man, I've listened to this story a few times now. I genuinely do not believe this was murder. This guy is definitely a psychopath, but I'd argue that he was genuinely so far removed from reality, that it was gross negligence at best and manslaughter at worst. That being said, he is a danger to society and should be removed from the general population

    • @MoistMoments
      @MoistMoments  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Yes, you can trade Bitcoin for actual cold hard cash. This can be done through various means:
      Cryptocurrency Exchanges: Platforms like Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken allow you to sell Bitcoin for fiat currencies such as USD, EUR, GBP, etc. Once you sell your Bitcoin, the money can be transferred to your bank account.
      Bitcoin ATMs: These are physical machines located in various cities around the world where you can sell Bitcoin and receive cash. The availability and functionality of these ATMs can vary by location.
      Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Platforms: Websites like LocalBitcoins or Paxful connect you directly with buyers who are willing to exchange Bitcoin for cash. Transactions can be arranged to meet in person or through various online payment methods.
      Over-the-Counter (OTC) Trading: This is more common for large transactions. OTC desks connect large buyers and sellers, and the exchange can include fiat currencies.

    A few years back when Putin put armed nuclear missile trucks at their border and their national TV boasted about it and used the capital of my country (where I live) as a reference point for their reach and our prime minister went to make a public announcement renouncing this as vile while scared and pale as paper on live TV. Me and my fiancée at the time were scared shitless and not able to sleep, scared of planes while living under an airport airway path, discussing safety plans and if we should just end it quick if it happens.

    Charlie is just flat out wrong about bunkers.
    It’s weird for him to think that something can’t just go wrong at any time. From natural disasters, to war, to grid/Power-plant meltdowns so much can happen. That doesn’t mean live in fear but there’s nothing wrong with being ready. I’m sure a lot of the citizens of Ukraine and Israel also thought the same as Charlie, but I know the ones with bunkers were glad they had them.

      most people commenting here do not live in the ukraine and israel where the threat of war is always high as hell & it'd make sense to have a bunker. Most of us live in the US, name one country on this planet that would attempt to invade the mainland US? The US is literally the #1 most difficult country to invade, the sheer amount of ocean between anyone who would actually want to do so would make their boat landings impossible, we have the largest navy in the world, domestic missile defense, the highest military budget in the world BY FAR, arguably one of the best trained military in the world, arguably the most modern military tech in the world in 99% of cases. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of active military bases we have located in most of the world. Ain't nobody ever going to try to invade the US, unless a nuclear war kicks off.. and if that happens, do you really want to live in a post global nuclear war world? i'd wager most people would prefer to just die to the nukes.
      and how is a bunker going to help you in a natural disaster? aside from maybe a tornado shelter, and that isn't a bunker lol. & power plant/grid issues..?? unless every single nuclear power plant in the US did a Chernobyl a bunker isn't gonna help you with that at all. There is a reason there aren't many bunkers in the US at all; we just simply don't really need them. "being ready" for catastrophic events in the US usually involves just having a stockpile of nonperishable food, water, and firearms and ammo.

      Reform instead of defund. All the systems need to be reformed completely from the bosses to the janitors. Defunding them would just lead to less qualified and more corrupt bcuz it would lower all the minimum requirements. Reforming them, if done correctly, would shift out all the bad and good and potentially bring the corrupt ones to justice, especially with the help of the good ones once they are not mixed in and influenced by the corrupt ones.
