  • Hello! Welcome back to the Limhaus.
Back with another house tour as we visited Jasmine - a mama friend whom I know from the IG community. Jasmines runs a home-based beauty salon specialises in Korean lash extensions and at the same time, she also recently started her very own art studio.
Jasmine’s home is inspired by the relaxing Wabi-sabi style, “a Japanese aesthetic concept that finds beauty and serenity in objects, landscapes, designs, etc., that are simple, imperfect, and impermanent” We love that her house has lots of natural lights flowing to complement the simple and neutral theme. We also see wabi-sabi in the art pieces which she created for her home.
In Jasmine’s home, we noticed how she incorporate her lash Studio and Art Studio in her 4 room flat. We also love how the storage spaces are nicely hidden behind the wooden fluted panels when you enter the house. It gives off a peaceful vibe as though we are in an art studio or a zen cafe.
Jasmine is also an avid Taobao shopper as well and shared her tips on buying and styling!
Love Jasmine's place? Do give her a follow or chat up with her on her Instagram page. / jasmine_jmb

Hi there, thank you for sharing this lovely space.
I see the dedication you put in for the channel and hope to provide some feedback on the interviewing style so that you can improve for the future house tours.
    (1) Pause more - As an interviewer you have the tendency to follow up with a response quickly (that is very obvious throughout the video). Perhaps you might like to take appropriate pauses between the conversations? That can definitely the viewers digest the conversation better and give you more time to process what you want to say next.
    (2) Ask more open ended questions - I also noticed that you have the tendency to compare your house versus hers. The constant comparison between your house and hers constricts the conversation significantly. As a viewer, I would be more interested to hear why the home owner make those renovations decisions and how is it different from the general crowd. More open ended questions will definitely help to expand the content and garner more interest from the viewer

    where is the wabi-sabi?

I don’t think it’s wabi sabi too. To me … it looks like a very feminine Scandi with some boho. Looks pleasant but its not wabi sabi.

Thank you for your input 🤎
I would say my theme is more towards the modern organic, meaning organic shapes and wood elements texture as an essence to my modern home theme. 😀
      .
Wabi sabi and organic is kind of similar I assume 😅
      .
Thank you for taking time to watch the video of my humble little home.🙆‍♀️

Hi. I think the space you’ve created looks quite good. A notch higher than above average for sure.
There are many overlaps in furnishings and accessories between Scandi, mid century modern and to a certain extent japandi and boho.
From what I gather … there are a few very important elements of wabi sabi… the most important being rustic, aged and …. the effortless beauty in imperfection. I could be wrong of coz… but I think wabi sabi and “organic” are just 1st or 2nd cousins. It’s very hard to achieve wabi sabi I feel. One has to tell a story with minimal ornamentation and accessories too…let alone other factors unique to wabi Sabi.
Just my 2 cents. Just a novice actually 😊

It's a beautiful apartment but clearly not wabi sabi. You said it yourself it's "perfect" meanwhile wabi sabi celebrates imperfection. The more correct term is "Japandi" not wabi sabi

  • @KamiGreenTea
    @KamiGreenTea ปีที่แล้ว

That's not wabi-sabi at all. More your typical generic Pinterest ripped decoration. You should not misleading people like this.
