Almost 8 years and this remix still slaps. Equestria Girls and the following titles in the series were seriously great. Dunno how many times I rewatched Rainbow Rocks. Sunset Shimmer was my favourite.
Equestria Girls was a really awesome movie that deserves praise. It was more than anyone could have expected out of the concept of humanizing all the characters from Friendship is Magic. My favorite part was the songs, they were all well-developed and memorable, and they really stuck out as awesome whenever they came up.
I have an immense appreciation for people who remix music, especially MLP music. I've never really been a fan of original scores of the show- no offense to Ingram; he's brilliant and while his work doesn't bedazzle me I can respect the art behind it. It's the artists who take his work and build on it to create these wonderful pieces that allow me to not only appreciate the music of the show, but to enjoy it as well. This particular song has been remixed many times by many people, but this one stands out as my favorite. While most remixes are content to take the original material, change the chord progression slightly, add a heavier beat, maybe tweak the vocal speed and call it a day, Aviators mix took the original theme of the song- a pop beat with the iconic up-beat optimism of adolescence, and built on it. The melody isn't replaced, but rather augmented which gives it a truly authentic feel. Every aspect of the original seems to be carefully taken, and built on until the whole thing comes together on a uniform level of quality; from the distortion in the opening verses to the extended guitar involvement in Twilight's solo. Even the techno-rave addition at the 2:00 mark reflects the mood of the song, building on it rather than changing it. The added melody is beautiful on its own, but when paired with the original it becomes radiant. While adhering faithfully to the original mood and tone in a remix while still trying to make it uniquely its own song is hard to do, Aviators did it with style. Kudos to them for taking this often avoided approach and reminding us why it's still an approach worth taking.
Unfortunately I didn't have the vocal stems for this song, so I had to work with what I had: the song in its entirety. Sadly all I could do to separate the vocals was EQ it and drown out the background. I feel like I made it listenable, but yes, it would be SO much better if I had a real vocal stem.
This song holds so many memories for me~ It was, again, one of the very first songs I heard in the fandom, and it remains my favorite, and the most memorable remix of this song I've heard
***** meh, I don't think they ruined it ;P It's still an amazing song, and spawned many awesome remixes ^_^ Besides, Hasbro doesn't decide that stuff, the production crew does X3
***** Meh, not that I saw ;3 Most bronies I know just liked the song X3 Besides, It flowed well enough, I like to think it was the kind of song that just fades out anyway c:

this is how i like 2 remember brony fandom. past all the bigotry, all the hatred, brony was something so so special. it will never be the same, ive been searching desperately for the spark that brony fandom had, but i can still revel in the memories. especially with songs like this. thank u aviators
closing in on six years later and with the ending of the show around the corner, this song brings back not only happy memories but is so nostalgic in such a short time, always brings a tear to my eye too.
You managed to make an awesome song and make it beyond 20% cooler! I cannot thank you enough for creating the remix to this song. I've listened to this everyday since I first heard it and it motivates me to make everyday count and help make make someone's life better. It's also helped me introduce some of my friends to the fandom and just a small taste of what the fandom is capable of creating. I love this fandom and thank you Aviators for creating such a fantastic spin on a legendary song!
Unbound Bass Here is the thing, once the series is over for whatever reason, whats next? A long year of break then a new generation? It will be hard to enjoy the new voice actors and characters.
Rainbow Dash There are people in the fandom who've been around since G1. If they can deal with all the changes they've seen, no reason we can't either. :)
after 7 years I finally found this, I used to listen to this remix, i'm getting nostalgia here lads, I used to listen to this when I was 8 and now im 15 yrs old, damn time fly so fast.
I had this in my Spotify playlist as a kid, and would randomly listen to it because I was obsessed with EG at the time, and I believe this was the only EG thing on Spotify at the time. Such nostalgia and memories.❤️
I've always found it interesting how much of an earthquake Equestria Girls was to the fandom...although Equestria Girls was the reason I became a brony in the first place. Great job on the song!
This remix is a true banger that keeps the spirit of the original while making it sound that much more badass. I'm glad Aviators is still living it up even if he's moved on from MLP.
I'm not even an mlp fan/brony but one day I found this song by accident and I loved it, then I lost the name and so long searching Now after 4 years ice finally found it again, thank you so much for creating this
I'm not a brony, but I can appreciate a good song, and I have to admit, while I probably wouldn't tune in for MLP (I watch commentaries of the episodes by a few bronies, including joshscorcher), I do feel a certain interest in the music. Cause as ridiculous as talking ponies with magic and flight seems on paper, the song writers are pretty awesome...usually.
That's not the only thing about the show that seems ridiculous on at first glance but turns out to be pretty awesome once you look a little closer... =P
Oh yay, an even better version of this song. Seriously, I didn't have much problem with the movie besides just generally feeling it was off for a MLP movie, but the music was as usual the highlight for me. And now there's a remix of this song that's somehow harder to get out of my head than the original. Good show sir, good show
Oh boy I remember this song when you first made it. Probably the best remix to come out at that time and still holds up wonderfully. Even if I fell out of the fandom I can safly say this song is wonderful
personally im a brony and even i complained about the concept of equestria girls, and my first thought was, DONT PROVOKE THE CLOPPERS! but then... i watched it... and i loved it. so i thought of a question to ask every brony i meet, so what do u all think, if a similar thing happened, would the equestria girls positively affect our world, or would our world negatively affect them. reply what u think would come of it, which side of the spectrum would win out, the magic of friendship or the corruption of the real world?
So i tried watching MLP FiM atleast 15 times before watching the movie and it never grabbed me as a good show. After watching the movie im willing to try the show again because the movie was so good. You can say i am a fan now even though i said I would never be a fan. It was actually 2 friends of mine that got me really curious about the show. So yeah you can just thank them and the original version of this song.
The movie was a lot better than many give it credit for. My personal favorite part about it was 3 of the songs in it. They are some of my favorite songs ever. But everything else was fine except for maybe Scootaloo. She looked a little frightening.
I am so glad that people like you Celestia Dash are so proud of who they are and put a positive spin on the criticism of those outside of the herd! (insert "Official Celestia Stamp Of Approval Here)
To me, the win the crown song is an allegory for the fandom itself. Before I was a brony, everyone was different. no one was really my friend. my days as a hater of the show and fandom were dark days. then I got involved. "Twilight Sparkle helped us see another way". She certainly helped me see life and friendship an entirely different way. Ever since I joined this fandom, I've made tons of new friends and experienced a whole new level of teamwork and generosity. Keep it up, Bronies.
I remember listening to this during Freshman year... I loved listening to many of these remixes. What a joy of memories! I think I'm crying on the inside.
