Our backyard is covered in them! Been pulling them out by the roots for 3 years now, it never goes away! I've tried vinegar with salt, but nothing! Now I'm covering large areas with old playmats from my kids to block oxygen.
You could make tea out of them, smoke them; and even eat them in small amounts, wouldn’t recommend removing them, you could dry them up and sell them like pot
The root system to my mugworts are huge and not pulled out by hand at all. I have already tangled up my tiller and my string trimmer in just trying to remove them. By hand, I can't pull them up at all. I have started using a small Japanese chain saw to cut them down lower, but the roots are solid and not ones you can just pull them out by hand at all. The plants looked great when we put them in the flowerbeds about 2 years back. However, they jumped over the raised curbs to the flowerbeds and actually took over the ground there for about 3' beyond the curb. They also began to cover up my air conditioner unit and block air to it. They survived well from the winter storm and also did not require much watering in summer season, but they are a massive pain in the rump to get rid of right now. A funny thing is that so many web sites say they have a strong, pungent odor to them. However, I laughed my head off the first time I saw my (hobby horse) standard poodle jump right into the center of them to do her daily business. Guess she likes to powder her tail with the scent. :-) Not sure how to remove this plant other than chemicals, as it is simply too big and too strong at the roots to now just pull it up by hand. :-(
It is not a gift. It chokes out the rest of the garden -- entirely. I am dealing with it now. Year two of trying to get rid of it -- with marginal success. It's worse than the worst variety of bamboo.
I love mugwort

I have NO IDEA how you pull that mugwort! Its rhizomes make that impossible!
I'm having the same problem with black eyed susan
Black eyed susans are pretty easy to dig out
Also a gift from God
Look up how the koreans make tea & soup out of the mugwort.
This herb is a gift! You should be harvesting the mugwort, it has so many uses. Hail the artemisias.!

Yes, a gift indeed, can cure malaria
I make tea from it. Dandelions too.
