- An outlaw woman - I love her music with the old outlaws - like Willie and Waylon - And this just happens to be one of my favorite tunes of all time ;-).
This video is dedicated to my daughter, Michelle, who died in March of this year. Her birthday was September 8th. She would have been 35 years old. I still miss you, Michelle, but I know you are dancing with the angels.

What can you say about Jessi Colter, she is still gorgeous in her late sixties, charming and a beautiful singer, there is nothing more to say about her. I know I am not alone when I say how much Waylon is missed and he always bragged about his Jessi, and no wonder. She would have been his rock in 35 years of marriage, one of the beautiful relationships in country music, just like Johnny and June. Johnny and Waylon must have been a handful at times. If you happen to see this Jessi, I see you are still active in music and I wish you all the luck, you deserve it girl. Thank you Jessi for your brilliant music, country's just not the same anymore.

A great singer and the way she puts her heart into her singing over to her fans .
What a major talented singer this woman is, and in her late sixties she is still gorgeous, no wonder Waylon fell head over heels in love with her. Jessi is such an underrated singer. When it comes to underrated country singers, the male singer would have to be Johnny Paycheck and female Jessi Colter. Unfortunately Johnny has left us but Jessi is still singing her heart out, good on her as she said, that would have been what Waylon wanted. Oh God, how we miss our great country singers of yesteryear without mentioning their names, todays singers aren't a patch on them

Jesse knocked it I out of the park. Best, most powerful, Jesus-glorifying version I have ever heard of "His Eye is on the Sparrow". Incredible, soulful, outstanding keyboard work! Electric cello adds spectacular solemn glory to this awe-inspiring masterpiece. It speaks volumes about the heart of this woman. I hope she sees my comment, or if someone who knows her directs her to this. I listen to it over and over and it brings tears to my eyes every time. Whoever did slideshow put a perfect frame around it--especially last "safe" finish!
I was so moved by this song and how Jesse delivered it, that I completely overlooked Bonderservant007, and referred to her as "whoever" did the slideshow when it appeared right on the credits. My apologies sincerely. Since then I have checked out 007's youtube site and have been blessed by so many more "duct-taped" videos.
Read that she played the piano in church at a very early age. She has a great voice and I love hearing her sing these Christian Songs. God Bless Her.

Jessi Colter is most DEFINITELY playing piano on this track. Her piano playing is as beautifully distinctive as her voice, bluesy and full of soul. She learned to play piano in her mother’s church and grew up knowing how to play those majestic hymns the way they should be accompanied-for praise and full expression. That’s a big reason why even Colter’s 1970s pop/rock and country original songs always had a real spiritual, soulful dimension to them. She’s been so underrated, but that’s mainly because she did not like the fame aspect of stardom and preferred the shadows and sidelines, making music when she felt inspired and supporting her husband, Waylon. Their marriage would not have worked if she had continued pursuing her stardom-and for a year or so she was as big a star (or bigger) than Waylon. I think she chose wisely, and she’s still the legendary Lady Outlaw.
