    Hi Lovelies! I hope you guys enjoy this video. I got certified by DermaplanePro recently so I've been practicing this new face mapping (it's tricky being left handed) so please don't watch this and think I'm saying this is THE ONLY way to do it. I've been tweaking things every time I do this service to see what feels comfortable. And I will say Dayana didn't get any nicks or scratches after this and her skin looked BOMB. So I think I'm doing a decent job lol. But I'm open to constructive suggestions! I'm still getting comfortable but I'm really enjoying doing this service and so have my clients. Let me know if you gained anything from being able to see where I was standing too. I thought that would be helpful to see instead of just my hands. And I will say make your table HIGHER if you can because I was breaking my back in this video because of my video setup. But I did it for the content! lol love you guys! Happy Dermaplaning!

    Hello. A quick tip, do not touch clients’ face after touching their hair because if they have acne prone skin, it will make them break out. Either touch the face and at last the hair, or don’t touch the hair at all.

    • @kristenmarieco
      @kristenmarieco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      To be honest, I’ve never had a client get a breakout from doing that but thanks for sharing! I’m sure it’s because there’s oils in our hair so I can see how that miiiight happen.. but I only did that hair to face movement briefly for the “before” shots in the video. And I always sanitize my hands before I cleanse.

    So I have a few spa clients that have asked about dermaplanning. But I have always been nervous to offer it because in my head as an aesthetician since 2006 it is similar to shaving. What are your thoughts?

    • @kristenmarieco
      @kristenmarieco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it’s everyone’s own preference! But I think dermaplaning takes it a few steps further than just shaving. It also removes a ton of dead skin and allows better product penetration. And it doesn’t make the hair grow back thicker! Some people’s skin will do well with it and some won’t. Just like any method of exfoliation using a modality. So you sort of have to try it out on them once and see how they and their skin likes it. Take the certification course and you’ll learn much more about how to do it correctly. Hope that helps :)

    Beautiful process and video the only thing I would suggest is to not touch her hair and then her face as you just took it through a cleansing and intensive process and then you’d be distributing her hair oils/dirt/etc. onto her fresh skin and products atop her skin. Just a piece of advice but love your content and work! She looks renewed and lovely 💕

    What instructions do you give to the client when they have their mouth partially open to dermaplane the upper lip? That’s my most difficult place to dermaplane 🥲

    • @kristenmarieco
      @kristenmarieco  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just tell them can you pls slightly open your mouth and no talkin lol then I’m using my hand to spread the skin taut so that it’s as flat as it can be and then you Dermaplane in very small sections at a time!
