I considered trading in my Porsche Taycan, but decided against it! I have some issues with the tech in my car, but ultimately, it drives very nice and feels very luxurious!

I drive these cars almost everyday and the performance from their first production to now has improved. Its a really fun car and if i have to choose between a tesla or Porsche Taycan i’ll go for Porsche Taycan. I feel like everyone owns a Tesla now and there are hardly any Porsche Taycans out there and when I see them on the streets (rarely) im super stoked on how good it looks on the streets!
There is a track changer. There is a customize button on the steering wheel. You can make that button change the song or do anything else you want. Or at least mine does.
Yup that's what I have mine programmed to do. Some people prefer using it for the garage door opener.

The price is plummeting on the used ones. That might be a better option.
How were you able to write off the entire car on Section 179 when it states the vehicle has to weigh at 6000lbw? I thought the Taycan weighed in around 5000lbs
GVWR is over 6 thousand pounds that’s the bar for section 179

2:30 you shouldnt be pulling your phone out while driving anyway. Anyone over 30 will appreciate that feature, which is most porsche owners.
With Bluetooth, you should need to grab your phone.

I like the taycan but in my opinion, The best daily driver by far is a urus or a Bentley Continental GT

Avoiddd porsche electric like the plague🤮🤮🤮. Bought a 2020 porsche taycan turbo s with 8 k miles on it from Porsche USA.
Car decided to emergency brake and electrical system failure when I was going 50 mph; almost killed me. Then it was 5 months!!!! Yes 5 months in the porsche shop. They said it was “repaired” imagine being told to keep driving like its ok after the car almost killed you. Car wasn’t repaired battery would only hold approx 70 % charge which would barely get you out of the city. Then it was at porsche shop for months. I told porsche to keep their piece of junk. It has multiple safety recalls as well including “spontaneous battery 🔥 fires. Lmfao 🤣 180 k $ piece of garbage that depreciated to 80 k $. Now I got porsche debt collectors after me when they knowingly sold a car that has potential fatal safety issues. What a great brand you are porsche. A+
That wireless charger is part of passive safety measures because when you are charging you just won't use that phone. Cables are annoying when controlling the phone and placing charger in the armrest is as well annoying when trying to reach for the phone
Get in a crash and you will appreciate not having to search the floorboards for your phone as well.

Don't get the issue with the wireless charger. You shouldn't be reaching for your phone when you're driving anyway
The issue isn’t fiddling with the phone while it’s in there. It’s that you throw your back out twisting to get it in there in the first place. And it feels like the retaining flap is scuffing the phone.
The curbside weight shows as 5100lb how did you get the write off?if its less than 6000 lb unless you are talking about gross weight

Interesting how you put Tesla on a pedestal.. teslas are know to have crap quality control, and the interiors are pretty basic and cheap compared to other luxury cars.

The triangle on the left side.. it is programmable.. set it to (Next) and it will go to the next channel (when in Radio mode) or song (when streaming Spotify). Also, don't be d*ckin around with your phone whilst driving... that is dumb. Tesla having the best tech just made me laugh though.

Actually you can assign any command to the steering wheel button (On the left side of the st wheel), including skip to the next song.
Yes, but that’s a consolation prize. Would be better to be able to go backwards too, esp. when cycling through Sat and FM favorites. There is a second programmable button, but on the dash, and it made more sense for me to use it for HomeLink garage door opener.

I dunno.. I have driven 3 Taycans - The 4s, Turbo S and the Cross Turismo 4. I don't understand all the fanfare over the car. I REALLY want to fall in love with it and buy one, but I find it terribly over-rated and boring to drive in an everyday scenario. I drove a V10 R8 as a daily for 8 years and I thought that really was boring as well and I don't want to fall into the trap of buying another car I don't love driving, and I have driven lots of EVs and high end supercars.
The Taycan is just massive and it doesn't feel small or nimble. Its cramped and the visibility out is bad. There is a lot of powertrain and driveline noise which makes it feel a lot less refined. The brakes drive me nuts too. I wish Porsche at least gave drivers the option of high-regen and 1 pedal driving. People just don't get it how 1 pedal driving + really good driving dynamics can make a car feel like an extension of your body - something like you are "one with" or are wearing - like a well fitted shoe.

Thank you. I was thinking on a Tesla plaid too until I drove the Taycan Turbo S. You see Teslas everywhere but a Porsche is way more elegant .

Tesla is a VW Golf of EV and the Porsche is a Porsche its one of they first tries the car MK2 EV will be miles better .
One thing i have learned in the automotive industry is the battle of Tech and vehicle quailty. Manufacturers are trying to find that PERFECT balance of Both... Tesla has the tech part down as porsche and other companies have the visuals and quailty down right. Give it a few more years and we'll finally be driving that great balanace... I Will have to agree with you Ryan.. No one has the lead on tesla right now when it comes to tech in the vehicle space.

Tesla plaid owner here. Got one due to economic reasons. Saw massive discount from 130k to 89k for a brand new one including the ulra red color for free. May get the 911 in the future though
I got an x plaid. I love it. My uncle owns a taycan & he let me drive it. Handling is unmatched & definitely felt the difference compared to my x. Currently looking for a GT3RS so can’t wait to join the Porsche family
@@butskiiueepp1625 I think Tesla needed to refine a little bit the plaid driving dynamics. Is too powerful but it does not feel safe after 100mph. Tesla is yrs ahead Porsche in EV technology but Porsche wins in driving dynamics, I chose Tesla.

I have a Plaid with FSD Beta and it drives me around about 90% of the time. If it doesn't have FSD, then I don't want it.

If the first things you complain about are the phone charger, song buttons on the steering wheel of a Porsche (!!!!!????), and the well known issue of mediocre Porsche entertainment centers.... this is not the brand for anyone that wants any of that. The Porsche is not about power. It's not about good value. It's not about flex culture. It's not about cheap repair bills. It's not about being a showpiece in your garage. It's about handling. That's it. Any other car is a pig (maybe except the new Z07 on PS Cup 2's).

In the comparable class, I think the BMW M8 is a much better choice and theres the added benefit of having a real gas engine. BMW is also releasing the new 7 series that looks like a total tech gasm, even has a 31 inch tv in the rear.
