- Hey,
I'm back with a video about my race for 3rd place at Ironman Vitoria-Gasteiz. It was my first Ironman pro series race and it was great to be back on an ironman start line after a year of injury!
No way those feet can do placid! Holy Cow
Great to see you back at it Ruth and especially back on the Podium. Well done.
Big congrats Ruth! Podium, kona slot and new blister record 😂. Enjoyed you sharing the self talk going on in your head. Funny how the mind works when u r in those dark spots!
Great job! The commentators were very concerned with you fiddling with the sock....I knew you would do great! Those mentally dark places suck, but you understood the assignment 💯
CONGRATULATIONS👏, I've been following you and kept checking on you through out the day!! So happy for you but damn those "blisters" looked more like big patches of raw meat, healup👍
Congrats Ruth, so pleased for you, what an incredible first race back. Unbelievable resilience to power through after everything you’ve been through and such little run mileage. Excited for the Nice videos ❤
Well done Ruth! Bravo! Smart bike tactics to avoid a penalty. IM officials seem to be on a tear about that these days, Jerks! Lake Placid? Better get your English Arse here for a great IM and tough Ironman! But alot of fun, afterwords, a proper slice. Kudos to your Nice Qualification. Cheers and Bring the noise.
So pleased for you that you pushed through to get your Podium / Nice slot…. But those blisters 😢
Super congrats :-D !!
- turned into the TH-cam race to solely follow you (and second a couple of others pro's)
- thou the coverage was a bit spotty, men/ women / race leader / the contenders just behind - and very poor ranking graphic - it was still a beautiful coverage.
So Podium is no sweat now! And your feet knows it ;-)
- ps blisters, used to get them - a lot. Then by aksident bought and used a super cheap supermarket thin running socks
- made of > 90% polyamide (nylon) . and app 10%elestan (think the last part was the the elastic band at the ankle, (not like a polyamid/ elestan blend fabric) - and wouldn't you know it no more blisters, not a single one since !! - seems that the polyamid fibers somehow are really well at sucking even the tiniest bit of moist and transport it fast, and somehow are a bit more non friction to the "foot skin" ....
- thanks for the race rapport :-)
So good to see you back racing and on the podium! Super well done, all your hard work and resilience paid off. Was shouting support at the screen in the latter stages of the run and a bit emotional to see you finish. You’re a super star ⭐️
Great result and amazing effort to continue. Really well done 💪
With those blisters definitely a tough day at the office! But overall I think you got the better of those TPS reports.
Well done Ruth.....Inspirational
Those are massive blisters!! Ouch!!
Those blisters! Eek. Well done. Job done.
What a rockstar performance 💪🏼🙌🏼
Congrats! 🎉 This blister looks nasty! 😮
Well done Ruth, great effort! 👍
How’d did the calves pull up?
"Make friends with pain and you will never be alone". Amazing performance, especially under these circumstances!
Congrats Ruth, so happy for you! Out of interest, did you ever work out the reason for the blisters? Shoes, socks or just too much running?! I’ve always been quite lucky with blisters but have suffered with toe nail problems instead. Congrats again, great to see you back up there.
It’s the shoes I’m pretty sure - have spoken to a few people who have had the same issue with those shoes but not had in others. Back to adidas for me!
Amazing Ruth. Great to see. Gotta get to lake placid 🤩
Congrats Ruth 🎉💪💪
great jo and love the each kit
Well done Congrats!
Amazing effort!
solid job Ruth!!!
So happy for you Ruth!
Absolutely Fantastic. 🏊🚴♂️🏃♀️
super happy for you , these blisters look bad, felt the pain myself. pls pls pls pls be sensible till nice, take care and train sensibly. and no placid for you. leave b2b racing for viser.
💪👊👌
Congratulations, I hope you gets the sense of all the support you have. It was great watching “online “ super pleased for you. It did look like your left shoe kept slipping out under your foot. Was this just tv or is that a carbon shoe issue?
I think my running mechanics from 10km in was very affected by how sore my feet were! So probably more of a blister issue. However I do tend to naturally over pronate in shoes to higher stack can accentuate that
@@Reastle1 thanks for the reply, that's interesting. Not that I'm in need of carbon shoes for my plod. Again great to see you back racing and hitting the goals plus. I take it as you alluded to, Lake Placid isn't the next outting?
So awesome Ruth, how cool was it to watch you go!!
Glad the legs held on !!
Superb effort Ruth. Super happy your calf held up- and a podium to boot !
All looking good moving forward... That blister was a beauty !! ;)
Brilliant performance, well done. So nice to see you do so well after your recent battle with injury. Onwards and upwards 💪😎
Fantastic effort and result! Knew you would do it 🎉
Wonderful race! So happy for you that you are back with all injuries.
Amazing to hear you being proud and kind to the bit of yourself that was trying to protect you from 10km of blister torture! Huge congratulations 🎉
That was quite the run to T2 from the dismount line, wowzer, but hope the feet feel better soon, congratulations
Great effort! Especially the run with those blisters and limited opportunity to prepare with some longer runs. That's some serious mental toughness.
Well done Ruth. Amazing physical and mental toughness.
WELL DONE!!! I was SO happy to see you complete the race and secure the Nice spot. An amazing achievement after all your injury travails. And thank you for taking the time to give us an immediate ‘aftermath’ comment on the race. I feel so privileged to be able to hear these detailed and honest insights from a world class triathlete of your calibre. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Congratulations. So good to see you on the podium - not so nice with that huge blister though. Anyway, hip-hip-HOORAY to you.
Well done Ruth. I did the VG in 2022 and loved it but that run……
Watched your last 10km and was shouting at you to
Keep running. It worked!
Well done on the race and Qualifying for nice, absolutely brilliant that all the hard work with the rehabs paying off. On another note I keep subscribing to the channel then a couple of days later it unsubscribes me, not sure why
A fantastic gutsy performance - and hopefully a big confidence boost too. Massive well done. Also you and Kat M are a great advert for the sport with such brilliant camaraderie during the race 🤩.
Huge congrats, Ruth! Very happy seeing you finishing a race. Congrats for the podium and for the slot. Brave of you running with those blisters😅.
Just awesome, recovering from challenges is so hard, you’re amazing!
Fantastic result after your injuries, so gutsy 👏👏 Love following your channel.
Massive power Ruth to be able to drop Els on the bike!!! 😮🎉
Well done Ruth, managed to watch the race on YT. Great effort to push through for the podium 😊
Well done Ruth...great performance off such little running.
Great result, and great mental toughness to finish with those blisters.
I screamed, cheered and finally cried when you crossed the line. 😊
Congratulations Ruth! So happy for you 🤗
Amazing performance
Congratulations 😂
Amazing performance after those injuries! Congratulations!!! Do you know where these blisters come out even using socks? I hope you get well soon asap!
I think just the shoe shape for my feet doesn’t work. Haven’t ever had it with shoes before. Back to adidas!
@@Reastle1 😓🙏🏻🙏🏻
Inspiring - congratulations Ruth!!
That is a blister and a half 😮 amazing result though 🎉
It was coming! Well done Ruth🫵🏻
Great stuff your an amazing competetor and person
So happy for you, Ruth! Way to tough it out, podium and get your Nice slot! If you make it to IMLP I will be cheering for you in person as you come outta the water...and might get to peel your HUUB, lol! 😁 (volunteering this year!) God bless your journey, Megan🙏 ps. Do you have trouble getting the zipper started up on your wetsuit? That's the only part of my HUUB that I dislike, otherwise it's fantastic!!
Yeh it can be tough getting the zip in - I usually get it done at the bottom before getting into the wetsuit makes it easier
@@Reastle1 yeah, me too..but the other morning before my race the first tooth would NOT slide in. Took me a half hour to get it going and was almost late for my race, ugh! Thank you!!
@@Reastle1 I just heard back from Daniel at HUUB (their customer service is fabulous) and he suggested applying a little bit of soap and the first tooth slipped right in for me! Great suggestion :D
Congratulations!!
Great job
just amazing!!! well done!!
So good to watch you have a smashing good day!
Congrats podium 🎉
Super Ruth so proud of you!
Yeah!!! So happy for you :)
Congratulations 🎈
Top Job Ruth!!!
Proud of you 🎉
Well done Ruth!
Congrats :)
Great result!!
Ouch those blisters!! What do you think caused them? Such a random place under the arch as well!
Think it was the shoes - back to adidas for me!
Were you in Asics? My feet can’t tolerate them at all!
Way to go.
Awesome
Respect
FFS, stop saying ‘YEAH’ it ruins the videos
Try commenting your race the evening post an IM and speaking very coherently. . . It’s tough! If you don’t want the honest true me don’t watch
