It sounded like you said WAR-SPEED in the Ad.
I assume WARPSPEED is what you ment to say.
BTW I love your videos.
@@Topic_Yoagreed
The devs should have a separate leader board for those who looked at the gallery before submitting their bridge.
Call it the Peeping Tom leaderboard
@@DracoGalboy Architects and Engineers
Yeah but then people will just post it online to loophole it
They should record what date it was submitted so you can see who’s done it first
But then
Expletive will look at that leader
Board, so it will be an infinite cycle of making new leaderboards if they do it like that
I don't recommend worrying about budget much in hydraulic levels. Optimized hydraulics is always just making a really short hydraulic that moves a lot due to a big lever, exploiting the invincibility of expanding hydraulics. You could try for minimum stress or ignore the leaderboards entirely, because I think everyone would agree that e.g. the claw machine solution is "better" than the cheaper solution. Hydraulics levels are a time when unfortunately Being Cool and Being Cheap are conflicting goals.
Wow i think u need to finish high school for this.
So, basically being an architect and being an engineer are conflicting goals. :P
@@sinteleon
I didn't want to say the A-word, but I suppose you're right.
When did "better" win out here?
since when being cheap is considered cool?
I really respect the fact after he watches the solutions he doesn't go back to do it more
Just like you, I was also an engineer, but a sound engineer, and let me tell you, your engineering time songs are better than some of the “top artists” I’ve worked with. Thank you for your videos, always lighten up my days. And! More timberbornes please!
"sound" engineer? Yeah basically you were NOT an engineer...
@@lotharschramm5000 indeed
RCE actually improving at hydraulics is scary

Gotta keep them hard and rigid. :V

12:26 Matt admits he's an architect
As a Mechanical Engineer seeing RCE's videos makes me glad to have gotten my degree.
so you hope to make some youtube vids in the future as well ? lol
@@Auroniar. Nah he just wanted to show off his degree, which no one cares about and who isn't particularly prestigious either nowadays
@@lotharschramm5000sounds like someone failed college
As an engineer, I can see all the techniques and mathematics he is using. Civil Engineer Certified. 24:00
At one moment he said im: "i am an architect" really quietly
Did anyone else notice the price of the bridge at 13:52

I'm actually kind of proud of RCE. He's getting proper good at hydraulics.
As a star trek fan though his not pronouncing the p in warp was glaring. I could see Lower Decks having a really gung ho general call in War Speed as Boimler's like "Warp. Warp. It's Warp with a P. The famous song from the Rocky Horror Picture Show is not sung "Lets Do The Time War Again!""
. . . Let's not do the Time War again, one of the worst idea in Enterprise...
@@peregry Fun fact: I am literally writing a multiversal time war into my fiction because I thought the idea was so cool and hated how Enterprise wasted it.
It’s always a good time watching RCE
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PADDY :D
Matt, please use the sponsorship money to feed paddy
He already does that because you know he's not feeling his editors.
The first hydraulic level for this video, by Alan, cracked me up for 5 minutes straight.
What I'm understanding is that to build the perfect, you need to make it LONG and HARD!
For an a-capella version/cover of "Do you believe", you should check out "Do you believe (in Kölle Alaaf)" from the big German a-capella group Wise Guys! (Who actually split up, with some of them having formed the follow-up group "Alte Bekannte", German for "old aquaintances/freinds".)
not sure why Matt is still surprised when Tyler did it in less than half cash, he only did a whole series with that exact premise :P
I still think the "Aliensrock > RCE" is referring to how his budget is "greater than", as in a higher number, than your budget. And that is factually true, as it has been show throughout the video, he uses more budget than you do.
15:05 Engineering time song [for the people who are looking for it]
My dad just showed me a game he used to play called “transport tycoon deluxe” I figured it was a game which would suit you well would love to see you play that but it is quite complex so watching a tutorial or two would make it easier it would make a good series aswell. I hope you see this message RCE
Happy Birthday Paddy, you lovely lovely boy. Stay safe with your dad. Don't let the architects come near, you brave boy!
last line should have been: we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. right? right??
I think the editor might need help...
"You know what does disappear when you need it most? Paychecks from Matt... I guess I shouldn't expect much pay or really need much pay in that matter when I'm just stuck in his basement. I'm just happy that occasionally I get some food and that there is a child's drawing of a sun to look at."
Nice spot! Best watched at half speed or less, although I think there's a typo which you didn't copy.

Lol, Mr. Editor, it sounds like you too could use some niff-Tea. I am sure Matt will let you have some. You could always do what us Yanks did and toss the tea into a bay...well, maybe a tub in hopes to get more food or something?
I'm shocked at the lack of "Cheese Gromitt" cutaways with these poly Bridge 3 vids
Day 7 of waiting for Matt to upload Mindustry Part 2.
FFOTD: Mindustry was originally created as a game for the GDL Metal Monstrosity Jam in April of 2017. And surprisingly, the judges were so intrigued with the game, that Mindustry won! And with the money Anuke (Creator of Mindustry) won he kept updating. And it turned out very well.

I really wish the devs would do something about the cheese solutions polluting the leader boards. Even if they just made a separate category or somethin for em, that would hugely improve the experience for everyone else, I think.

Even Matt doesnt use autotune on his Cher Cover. Kudos for having more musical integrity than the pros.

Well, now that you started singing Cher, you should definitely choose "Strong Enough" next time. You say it a lot during Poly Bridge videos, it would be a perfect fit. 😁
Cable stayed bridges ARE architect bridges... Trusses, Arches Suspension aren't. Cable stayed bridges are always sold as "signature bridges" to replace actual historic bridges that stood so long cuz they were actually built correctly. Theres only one cable stayed bridge that actually looks good and that was ironically built by an architect who's screwed up every other bridge he's been involved in... Santiago Calatravas Sundial Bridge in Redding California.
It actually works as a sundial and is designed to not touch the water with any pillars or pilings cause its in an ecologically sensitive area so the sundial is also where the cables are stayed from.
Sadly making a bridge beautiful for a purpose is rare nowadays.

i was intrigued so asked AI
it says
"Feasibility of Non-Traditional Anchor Tower Shapes
The feasibility of using non-traditional anchor tower shapes in cable-stayed bridge design largely depends on various engineering considerations. While the conventional vertical anchor towers provide direct and efficient load transfer from the bridge cables to the ground, alternative configurations such as J or L shapes could potentially introduce additional complexities in terms of structural stability, load distribution, and construction challenges.
Structural Considerations
When considering non-traditional anchor tower shapes for cable-stayed bridges, structural engineers must carefully evaluate the impact of these configurations on the overall stability and load-bearing capacity of the bridge. The deviation from a vertical anchor tower design may require adjustments in the distribution of forces within the structure to ensure that the bridge can effectively withstand dynamic loads, including wind and traffic-induced forces.
Geotechnical Aspects
The geotechnical characteristics of the site where the bridge is to be constructed play a critical role in determining the suitability of non-traditional anchor tower shapes. The soil conditions, foundation requirements, and potential impacts on neighboring structures must be thoroughly assessed to ascertain the viability of deviating from conventional anchor tower designs.
Construction Challenges
The construction of cable-stayed bridges with non-traditional anchor tower shapes may present unique challenges compared to standard designs. The erection of inclined or horizontally oriented anchor towers could necessitate specialized construction techniques and equipment to ensure precise alignment, adequate support, and safe installation of bridge components.
Aesthetic and Environmental Considerations
In addition to engineering and construction aspects, the choice of anchor tower design for cable-stayed bridges may also be influenced by aesthetic and environmental considerations. Non-traditional shapes could offer opportunities for innovative architectural expression and integration with the surrounding landscape, but they may also raise specific visual and environmental impact assessment concerns.
In conclusion, while it is technically feasible to explore non-traditional anchor tower shapes for cable-stayed bridges, their implementation requires comprehensive analysis and consideration of structural, geotechnical, construction-related, aesthetic, and environmental factors to ensure the overall integrity and functionality of the bridge.
