    you can already see in Krystal the more she gets denied of joining a mission, the more stubborn she turns which led her to pretty much get sick and tired of it in the failure of a story starfox command were.

      You could see in Star Fox Adventure that she was fairly capable of taking care of herself... Well, until she got sweet irony by being encased in a crystal.

    Krystal's voice is sexy in English, but in Japanese, so foxin' cute!

  • @SolitaryWinterStar
    @SolitaryWinterStar 15 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Krystal's expression at 3:35 was amazing xD The most noticeable in difference from the english(besides the blinking.)
    I can certainly see that the original expressions seem to have a more fit in emotions as many speak. That just make me laugh because of the fact that it shows Krystal was hoping Fox would really be more happier about it I suppose. Dazed in love? Ha, don't hurt yourself Krystal. Fox is a good guy, just sometimes has his moments x]

    The fact of the matter is, when it comes to Japanese voice acting, that's a whole other world compared to how it's done elsewhere. What they refer to as Seiyuu acting is treated with such dignity and respect. Seiyuus have massive celebrity status in Japan, and when they act, they act with massive seriousness.

    1:10 I LOVE Krystal's face, she looks disgusted with Fox. x'D I also love how at 3:40, Fox's tail jumps up when Krystal says "A mission together at last" :b
    The Japanese voices have more emotion it seems.

    In Japanese, normal English names are kept, but changed slightly so that they sound more Japanese. There are Japanese forms for many English names: Peter is pronounced Piita

    @haon7272w Furries are alternate animal personas (or "fursonas") which people create for themselves, sometimes out of the belief that they are an animal on the inside. They go about this by drawing art of their respective characters, wearing animal like accessories (ears, tails, etc.), and sometimes building their own fur suits which they wear to conventions or just in their free time
    Anthros are simply animals exhibiting human-like characteristics (i.e. walk on 2 legs, talk, wear clothes, etc.)

    I'm pretty sure a lot of this was cut out of the English version due to dubbing difficulty.
    To be blunt, it would be very difficult to completely rework the mouth and overall facial movements to match the English voice actors...
    At the same time, I'm guessing the other expressive features that got cut were more deeply tied to the facial expressions than most would think, so it'd be a pain to completely rework without them.

    People do really like these characters I like them to, you know people will enjoy them better if they had the facial features and everything else. Also I wish they fix Krystal's character a bit (not design, but her emotions and action, dialog.) make her more responsive to the team with clever dialog that makes her not feel like a over sexualized character. She has potential, but truly we want all the characters to be a little more responsive to each other while maintaining focus. Also where's Miyu and Fay, aren't they apart of Starfox team to

  • @AlastorNightheart

    • @rafaelcastillo670
      @rafaelcastillo670 8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Most likely because they had to redo facial work in order to sync the english with the movement. Probably too much work to put back the effort of placing every little detail.

    you know at the last scene you can see a big difference.. when she says "a mission together at last" in japanese then she smiles at fox and then gets upset.. there are soo much emotion in the japanese version.. and in the other version i think you cant see that krystal gets upset or something o.o

    Funny Fact about the Animations between both versions. It turns out that these Briefing cutscenes experienced a subtle Glitch that Few under the Localization team's radar! Its due to this Glitch that caused the Animations to become as stilted as they were in the English version. I really wished Nintendo would've made an Updated version of this game...as well I wish I could've bought the title when it first appeared on store shelves.

  • @dwighthouse
    @dwighthouse 18 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Actually, it's simpler than that. The American localization team went into the animation code and removed all facial movements (including mouth movements) so that they could redo them for the English language. Unfortunately, they chose not to put the facial expressions back in, resulting in characters with all the same movements and correct speech, but almost no facial expressions.

  • @Aristocles22
    @Aristocles22 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only major difference I see are the eyes; much more motion in the eyes in the Japanese version. Funny thing is, while most of the characters are Japanese in origin, Krystal was a character made in England, originally for another game.

  • @krystalarchive
    @krystalarchive  17 ปีที่แล้ว

    It was developed first in Japan first. What happened is that they edited these scenes for America (and anywhere else with the English voice actors), but didn't redo the expressions (probably lack of time). So although the lips work for the English version, all their other expressions are neutral.

    @YOUGOTPWNED1111 In Star Fox 64, the planet that was translated as Fortuna was supposed to be named Fichina; it was an error in the translation to English. In Star Fox Assault, the error was fixed and the name Fortuna was ascribed to a different planet.

    Do you know of any specific scenes where she was considered too suggestive? I find that interesting because when I first played the game I was surprised at how suggestive Nintendo allowed Namco to make the character.
    Sure her sexy "thank you" at the end of SFA sort of set that tone for the character, but for some reason I expected Namco to be a bit more conservative than Rare, whose last game before that Conker's Bad Fur Day.

    @aojishi 17 ปีที่แล้ว

    Finally someone posted a video on this. It bothered me for the longest time after getting the Japanese version. There were so many instances when the American models were plastic (no facial expressions, ear movements, tail movements, etc.) and the Japanese models were more lifelike.

  • @30subber
    @30subber 11 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Why did they put more effort into the Japanese release? They couldn't do the same for the American? Why? Bastards, now I'm real jealous. :(

    • @ITheLoZKingI
      @ITheLoZKingI 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, because blinking eyes during a part where you're not even playing the game and end up skipping after the first time through anyways make a game so much more worth playing.

    • @30subber
      @30subber 10 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      TheZeldaBigMacintosh Any sort of extra detail and polish in a game is a good thing. It's not just eye blinks either, it's facial movements and expressions in the body movement. The cutscenes look marginally better in the Japanese version because of this and there is no doubt about that.I do not know why they couldn't include these in the other versions of the game, maybe because they got lazy or something I have no idea but it's just a little gripe I have after seeing the extra attention the Japanese version got.

  • @MrPeanut624
    @MrPeanut624 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Basically, after Assault, Fox kicked Krystal of the team because he wanted her to be safe. She, of course, was devastated and wanted nothing to do with him.

    • @DAN007thefoxx1
      @DAN007thefoxx1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Command's storyline pisses me off. They don't tell you the full story and then just have her take a dump on everything's hes done for her. Name one thing Panther Caroso has done for her (she gets together with him in one of the game's endings). And I once read that's the default ending of the game too. Really there was two sides to that, Krystal you have to remember is also an orphan. Her homeworld was completely obliterated and she romed the galaxy in order to avenge her parents. She was so adamently against Fox's (poorly made) decision because that was the only home she had.
      This is a big part of why in my opinion Command was the worst Starfox game to date.

  • @ZhadoxFlamez
    @ZhadoxFlamez 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @SuperMissile
    Japan, USA, and Europe have the same consoles, not to mention that the international versions are usually a bit beefed up because they are revised versions of an earlier Japanese model. Whatever their GC had our GC has, if not better. The only problem is the laziness of the programmers. They didn't bother to give Krystal facial expressions. Even when using your logic, I could say NA has better tech, because of the Xbox made by MS, since it was way more powerful than the GC.

    I totally get where you're coming from with regards to censorship and the toning down of the emotional content of the game; it's not as if this were a game that was mainly targeted at young kids. But I wonder if the censorship was meant more for European and Australian audiences, since in those areas it received a 7+ and 8+ rating respectively, while in America it was T for teen.

  • @NumbPlanet

As of Star Wolf I prefer all the american voices.
