You did a great job!! This painting is beautiful, but the milky way is more of a spiral shape, instead of an arch. BUT.... I was trying to find something to paint in the last section of the painting I'm working on, (space themed) & this is the perfect thing to take a little inspiration from 🌌🪐🥰 thank you

Beautiful... do you dry before the arch and in between each color of the arch? I tried doing it but my colors are getting mixed
Yes, dry paint before you overlay colours, if they are still wet.
What kind of brush did you use for the sky? I want to make sure the blend is spot on.

I find paper warps quite easily with acrylic paint.....maybe try cardboard or very thick paper....good luck!
I was looking for a design I could paint on the back of my calculator. It doesn't look as great as yours but I did my best.

Its 30 x 20 cm
i open cereal boxes and cut the flaps off of them, make great beginner practice
i also put tape on the back of them to help hold in place and helps them keep from warping

Can mix crimson red and white ?
I use Magenta to replace Opera Pink....its another bright colour and good mixer. Crimson and white does mix to a dull pink, so not the best replacement. Good luck!

If you don't have a sponge on hand, a whiteboard eraser might work for you.
this is beautiful - i tried it but the part that doesn't work well is the "rainbow" in the sky where you do the sponge work - it doesn't look anywhere as good as yours... it just splashes....any tips would be greatly appreciated
If you are using a sponge, the paint needs to be really thick and not runny. Good luck!

Its on canvas and not paper

I use a mix of basic acrylic colours....not expensive

Brush used ?
I used various brushes....large square brush to paint first layer, a sponge and then small size square and pointed brushes. Good luck!

When I try the toothbrush trick I do not get little stars but rather blobs and streaks. I have tried with plane acrylic, then various mixes with water.
Can anyone explain the technique in detail, whats the trick?
The mix of acrylic paint and water has to be the right consistency to flick on easily. Best to mix the paint really well and don't load the toothbrush with too much. Practice your technique on some scrap dark paper first. Good luck!
