I forget about the hat man until these stories come up. I used to see him in a house we lived in as a teenager.

@@MidnightAndLuna i was 8 at the time and i lived on 30 east drive in the UK. My sister was have boy troubles and she was emotionally vunarable at the time. It is my fault it happened to her i should have been able to stop the hat man i feel so guilty
So I work as a paramedic and I've had multiple pediatric patients or children tell me they've seen a man and a hat and a lot of times I used to play it off as them having an overactive imagination but then when I discovered this it really creeped me out
It really is a thing. Kids see them more often than adults but, we still see them. Once visited you’ll always be visited

I couldn’t be there because we’re on the west coast and they are on the east coast. It was very distressing worrying about everyone. The hat man came, I haven’t seen him in years. Many of us believe they feed on your sadness, grief but, not anger. All some us know that there are three types. The Fedora, The Top hat and, the Hooded. Many of us believe the Fedora and Top Hat are in charge, the Hooded do the physical damage as instructed. I don’t believe in conspiracy theories at all, but it’s hard to explain how so many people around the world, different beliefs, cultures etc see these old timey western men.
@@racafritz yes! Lots of grief due to his father's death. I also deal with anxiety. We both also have PTSD . I haven't seen him but I did once thought I seen something that looked like the outline of a person? I hurried and turned on my night light and it was gone. Crazy stuff. I wish my Mom would visit from the other side 😕😔

I was at my dads old house in the living room on a chair it was late at night, the tv was off with no light and I looked out the window to see a man in a trench coat with a wide brimmed hat, I don’t even remember being scared because I was so young but he was standing in our front yard in front of a street light, I couldn’t see any features he was all black. All he did was stand there not moving and I eventually fell asleep and woke up to nothing being there in the morning
I’m a bit creeped out now that other people have seen stuff like this, while they are sleeping tho
I actually had an experience with the hat man. I was living in an abusive household and was sleeping on the couch and my sister said he was standing over me just watching me sleep.
I had this last night, my gf said he was just leaning over nd starring me while I slept in bed.

Things would happen in the house and I'd see webs of light and smell smoke before something like the TV turning on by itself would happen or my mom was yelling at me and her closet shelf was ripped from the wall and my ex girlfriend at the time would mention someone like him following us when we'd walk around a school at night smoking together. There were other times when something would throw rocks at us and one night desks were stacked outside the school and we were sitting at the bench smoking together with her boyfriend at the time and we just heard a loud stack of desk fall altogether. She mentioned one time her and that boyfriend went and were making out when she saw a man that was more shadow than man watching her from inside the school.
@@adoringsuccubus8536 we haven't had anything like that, however there was a weird whistling sound outside our house around 11pm. This happened with the figure around the early hours 1-4am.

i used to see him a lot when i was young n would call him “robber” cuz he reminded me of those cartoons that portray robbers as tall lanky, n lurking
When i saw him at 9 years of age my parents were going threw a divorce and i said the same thing whe i saw him that a rober was in the house then i thought about how it never moved and finally realised it was some kind of ghost im 27 now il never forget

So unfair. It's enough that you go through distress like families breaking up without this hat man appearing to give people more distress .

Some entities feed off that sort of energy. My kid saw Hatman while we were leaving a cult and losing everything we'd ever known. I've learned a lot since then. I feel Hatman is a spirit who gets his energy from those situations.

My sister and I saw the Hatman when we were children. I was sleeping and was woken up by terrifying screams coming from my sister. I looked at her and she was pointing at something, when I looked in the direction, I saw a black figure wearing a hat and a cape. He seemed to have a weapon, a knife, in one of his hands. He moved slowly towards us in our beds. Our parents heard our screams and came to our room and turned on the light. He vanished. Both my sister and I saw him.
Same experience as mine except no weapon.. It walked towards my bed and leaned in. I started yelling out God.. OH God. It then started walking backwards (backing off) then vanished like whispy black smoke

I have seen the Hatman when I was 6.
During the summer of 1985 I was at my Grandma's house in Noble, Oklahoma.
He went through the front door, he appeared to float around, solid black no details that I should have been able to see because of the moonlight shining through the windows. I sat up in bed and wiped my eyes then it came from the kitchen going in to the living room making its way to the room I was in, it stopped next to the bed he just stood there and stared.
I through the blanket over my head and just layed there and went back to sleep.
I have seen him in my childhood, but he appeared to me more as an adult. He drove me to a point where I was questioning my own sanity. I knew I wasn't going insane when other people would ask me about it. One night I saw him, I got so angry, told him he was doing a terrific job at bothering me, told him he was intruding, told him to ef-off, this is MY HOUSE and if he wanted a war he had it! He has not bothered me since, only others when they stay over lol
I had similar encounters with this entity as an adult while wide awake, engaged in other activities. When my anger with it supplanted my fear, I told it to get lost and finally it did.
It's weird how people go straight to thinking they're insane just because they've seen something rare. If anything the community conglomerate understanding is what failed you not your own thoughts and that's how it usually is. The world is huge and it's strange the hat man isn't the strangest thing out there

When I was 5 years old I was sleeping in my mum's bed and I saw this exact figure standing outside the bedroom door the eyes were like 2 slits and were silver. As long as I live I'll never forgot this night.

I saw the hat man three nights in a row when I was a child. My parents couldn't help me with this "nightmare," so I went to my teacher. She told me to pray out loud in my bedroom and ask for God's protection. "If you ask for light, there will be light." It helped! I hope my prayer kicked its ass back to hell that day. Years later I became a deeply depressed teenager with complex family problems. It took years to recover and go through family therapy. I'm a happy adult now and I shared this story with a friend yesterday. She said: "When all the good stuff comes from heaven, it makes sense to wear a hat when you're a demon." I never thought about the hat man's hat in this way.

I saw it standing in my bedroom doorway as a teenager. It never moved, just kept staring at me. Eventually I got fed up and just went under the covers until morning.

Me to i was like 5 years old all he does is watch you very still at the door way I was in my grandma living room with adults but they didn't see him only me and when I was trying to tell the adults everything went in slow motion as if time had stop

I have only seen the hatman once. It was terrifying. I was pretty young, around 7 or so. Maybe a tad bit older. I was staying in my room with my two cousins. One of my cousins was asleep. I was just crying as the man stood beside my dresser in the corner of my room. None of my cousins saw him, except me. I'm still so confused on why only I could see him
I was about 10 yrs old when I first encountered the hat man. My grandma and I we were walking home taking the short cut to our house. We had to walk this short cut because it had lighting from the street lamp. As we walked closer I began to notice something forming, casting a shadow, I told my granny '"granny look" I pointed toward the hat man that was on the shadow. My granny said "let's go faster" in our language and I can hear her praying in our language as well. I was walking in the front because I was really terrified, I can still see this image in my mind to this day, 45 yrs later
I saw this man when I was around 9, I woke up in the middle of the night and he was standing maybe 20 feet away just staring. I stared back confused with whether I was actually seeing a person or if it was a trick of the dark. Then he tipped his hat slowly to me as if to reassure me yes I see you, and you see me. I turned away and when I turned back he was gone. I never saw him again but I often wonder why the Hat man chose to show himself to me that night. I didnt see glowing eyes, no features at alll really, just a black shadow mass of a being. The outline was that of a man in a trench coat and a top hat or fedora. He was maybe 6-7 feet tall, quite large but not much bigger than a regular person. This TH-cam videos depiction is exactly what he looked like. terrifying
I saw an 7-8ft. hat man entity in 2002 on All Hallows Eve. He was at the end of the street, under a street lamp. I froze and looked towards him. He had a black tuxedo on and a top hat. I eventually ran the other way because he was too SINISTER to stare down. I was with my friend. Whenever we are together, we attract this type of thing. It trips me out that it has become a global phenomenon. I feel like I'm in a Horror Movie. ITS ACTUALLY KINDA STARTLING....

I used to have sleep paralysis as a teenager, it decreased over time. It always came along with a sensation of leaving my body. My sister used to get them too but she would also have auditory and visual "hallucinations" , one of them heavily traumatized her. She said it was an old witch strangling her, she couldn't breathe and the thing let out a curling scream in her ear that terrified her. Every time my sister remembered that episode in her life, her eyes would water. 🥺

The only times ive ever heard of the Hatman before the Benadryl challenge was when talking to my veteran family members, they would talk about him after they got home from their time in Vietnam/Korean wars as they tried to readjust to civvie life, he would follow them around usually at night or when the sun set, for the lingest time they would think it was their PTSD forming machinations of their enemies in the wars but the way they described him dodnt fit the look of the Viet Cong or anything like that
I saw the Hat Man back in 1994 when I was 13. I had no idea this was a thing until recently. This was the dark ages before the internet and social media being a thing. The descriptions in the video are nearly identical. Mine wore a cape/duster and had a hat with a wide brim and a round top. Something out of an old western is the best way I could describe it. It was very tall taking up the whole doorway. Its eyes were yellow and had the glow of an old wore out Christmas light(best way I can describe the color). It made no sound or movement and its features were indistinguishable. It was gone as quickly as it came. Never seen it since and don’t care to.
I saw the hat man as a kid, I was waiting for the school bus at around 6:30-7AM. he was leaning up against my neighbors house next to the street light, and I had a horrible feeling and started to panic, I wanted so bad to run but I couldn't, I blinked and he disappeared, I ran back through the trail in the woods back to my house, I was screaming and my mom ran to the sound of me screaming (she thought I was being attacked by a bob cat) without her shoes on, cut up her feet so badly. didn't go to sleep that day
I saw the hat man when I was 6 years of age. My parents had just bought a new bunk bed and during the first night, I woke up in the middle of the night to see a man standing over me. He just stood still and said nothing, so I ducked under the bed covers as I was so frightened, and when I reemerged it had disappeared.... He wasn't frightening, more ominous
As an adult, I experienced and saw the Hat man . Best way for me to described him at the time was to Dick Tracy but all in black - intense black-. It was after midnight and I was woken by his presence at the entrance of my bedroom door facing me. Mind you the hallway light was on and he was very tall. Tall as the frame of my door. Prior to this happening I once prayed that I will not fear no evil or paranormal sighting. What also woke me was that my room was awfully CoLd.... With that being said, about a year or so my father and eldest brother past away and a few years later, I went thru a divorce. Ironically with all this happening and enduring, i was at peace.
I actually think I've had a run in with this Hat Man. So my house has a back deck you have to walk across to get to the grass. One night I was taking my puppy out to do her business and when she finished I turned around and started walking to the deck when I stopped dead in my tracks. There, standing on the deck was the black silhouette of a man about 6ft tall, wearing a trench coat and fedora hat. I was shocked at first, but quickly calmed down and dismissed it as just being my dad. Since he likes to hang out on the deck at night and has made me jump just by standing out there before. But then I remembered, my dad had moved away for work again just a couple of weeks ago. That couldn't have been him. And when I looked back the figure was gone. There was absolutely no sign of anyone, or anything being there before hand. I quickly ran across the deck and rushed inside with my puppy and told my mom what I saw. She went to look around a bit outside with our adult dogs to see if anyone was out there. Eventually she came in and told me I was worrying myself over nothing. I knew I had seen something though, and I was wary the next few nights I came outside. I didn't know who this strange hat wearing figure was and I haven't seen it since. I thought what I had seen was just some one-time thing that freaked me out but apparently, I'm not the only one who's seen the Hat Man.

... I saw him when I was awake. When i was about 13 i went for a walk at night around a track by a school. I saw a 3d shadow sitting on a bench with a wide brimmed hat up ahead of me. I stopped, looked down for a second, looked up and it was gone.

Dont be afraid its Satan god made satan to never hurt anyone who cant handle it if he attacks you you'll be able to handle it no matter how bad it hurts or the fear you're experiencing and remember to pray to god when I had my experience prayer helped he just poofee out

Yeah this is definitely real. I've seen Mr Hat man 25 years ago and omg. Huge Blacked out person with hat and face all dark so u can't see it and wearing a trench coat, towering at the end of your bed, looking at you and your heartbeat just suddenly goes a million miles an hour. 1st reaction was to pull up duvet then it was gone. ( stories alot longer ) there's a ghost now in that room to this day. Happening the last year now. Messes with lights, electric equipment, you can hear it walking up and down the stairs. Moved back in to look after folks. I'm 45 now. Father only turned 80. I've seen some crazy stuff, a black bird flying on my ceiling for 10 seconds, small orbs - balls of light flying into me and my dog and they'd give off an electric burst when they fly through you. Flashes of light across the ceiling, that happened twice. Seeing a hair line of a person fly into a lamp and the light bulb increasing in light. Small thuds on walls just to tell u it's there, cabinets opening right in front of you. Pushing your mattress upward slightly but you can 100% feel it. Not afraid but sometimes it does frighten you. Picture this a small black ▪ dot. Exactly that size. Comes from top of ceiling then disappears in front of my eyes then turns into a shadow flashing before your eyes, dark shadow. I have video proof of some sightings. Mad stuff. I've seen stuff all my life and the non believers. You need glasses or trying to disprove it with science. 🤣🤣🤣 roll on the next part off life because something is definitely there. Sometimes my mother would say why did you wake me up. You opened my door and looked it. Mother, I hadn't gotten out of bed until now. What are you talking about. 🤣 so a mirror image of me roaming the night. Head scratcher.
In some places in Brazil people say that If you're having Sleep paralysis and see the hat man, you will get rich if you manage to move and take the hat of his head.
I saw this man wen i was 9 years of age i lived in phx az i still do. My parents were splitting up around that time its true he appears during times when family is going threw stressful times the man had no features straight black shadow darker than the room i thought it was a rober at the time i later realized that this is something paranormal im still scared i pray i never go through this again if anyone finds out wat this means to see this man please tell me this happened to me at age 9 im 27 now

My mother is 91 yrs old and saw a shadow figure of a man in a black hat. She said it looked like the hat Lincoln wore. She didn't know about others seeing this and I didn't tell her. I'm praying for protection for us.

I used to see what I thought was Lincoln, but my Father had a tophat and he said If it's not him, that it's HIS Father. My grandfather also had a tophat and was born in 1880... 22 years after Lincoln was elected.
I have seen my Grandfather's ghost and my Father and I have both seen an "inky figure". The figure doesn't wear a hat, but he is tall, has dark eyes and wears either gray or black with either black or brown shoes.
Bruh I get chills seeing these stories because as tho I forgot my encounter with him in the last 5 years I’ve read a lot of trip reports of people taking DPH and Benadryl . Hat man resides in the in between parallel universe/dimension. He can bend time , transform even summon scary stuff . He is definitely evil and wether he’s a shared consciousness between everyone I’m not sure but when ppl take Dph everyone tends to see him . Which leads to me my little story going back to when I was probably 6 to 8 . I woke up in the middle of the night and there was this figure by my door almost as tall at the door frame and I sat there couldn’t move because I was terrified . Just a shadow figure didn’t see eyes but he did have that distinct hat and coat . I finally was able to say “ dad dad dad” and my dad came to the room and then bam the shadow was gone. They chalked it up as a kid having a bad dream but I was up I swear and now watching videos about him I’ve made the connection that I have encountered him before . Scary experience but now it would be a waste of hatmans time to try and scare me because I’m completely aware of him and he knows now that lord savior Jesus Christ is with me so he can’t do anything ti me . Everytime i visit my grandparents house i feel like im being watched when i go upstairs... i always just though i was being stupid, until one day i was sat at the bottom of the stairs and felt like i was being watched again... so i turned around and i saw a very tall 7ft man in a tuxido and top hat looking at me from over the banister... it didnt have a face it was just black, but i could feel it watching me... i started freaking out so i rubbed my eyes to make sure i wasnt seeing things and it was gone... about 2 mins later i had to go upstairs to grab my phond before i left to go out, but as i got up 3 of the steps i saw it walk across the landing really fast like a big shadow of a man... i ran back downstairs and didnt go upstairs until i had someone else with me... ever since i saw it ive had the feeling of being watched when im alone... when ever i have my door open in my room i swear i see somethings head poke out and then duck back away when i look over..... still freaks me out to this day!

Very. A lot of the things I’m hearing in these videos are dangerous thinking. I’m here as a former Jehovah’s Witness (now skeptic/atheist) who used to have horrifying nightmares of possessions, witches, demons and experiences with sleep paralysis. I have seen some absolute horrors in paralysis. The Hatman wasn’t the most frightening of them to look at, but he was certainly the most terrifying. The common denominator. It felt as if he was the one doing it. Like he didn’t have to do anything but stand there, because he was orchestrating the terror in my life. When I was young, I was afraid he was a demon. But now I’m not so convinced, or certain. I feel that there could be more scientific explanations for my experiences. It is incredible, though, just how many of us have seen him.

@@Deathfecater he’s not. Hallucinating is a part of being human. But there’s no actual evidence for the hatman’s existence. You also see shit when above open water.
I saw him a total of 10 to 12 times soon after I got out of the marines. On 2 occasions he was reaching for my forehead slowly.
I saw the black hatted man multiple times when I was around 4 years old. There was a lot of negativity in the house at the time, not physical abuse, but it was very negative. My parents told me I had sleep terrors (sitting up and eyes open like I am awake and screaming, but not awake - they would try to wake me, but couldn't...apparently I would just stop screaming... go back to sleep/eyes closed). I remember having a lot of nightmares (specifically/repeatedly about a witch) and being afraid of going to sleep at night. I don't remember ever feeling paralyzed, like sleep paralysis. I told my parents what I was seeing and they didn't believe me... thinking I was seeing a shadow. I would wake up, see the black hatted man standing next to my bed staring at me - not in the doorway (I thought it was a ghost of an Amish Man since they wear hats and there were a lot of Amish People in the area of Mansfield, OH where this happened). I could see through him, no scary eyes or features, when I touched him he didn't move and I couldn't feel anything (no cold or electricity), and a regular sized man (not 7 foot tall). I asked him why he was there, told him if he was trying to communicate with me I couldn't hear him but I could see him, and told him it was scary to see him and that if he wanted to be there to make it so I couldn't see him. I also got out of my bed and went out to the hallway to look at him at a different angle and to see if it looked different. It never moved (still was staring at my bed where I slept even though I was now in the hallway) and when this happened I would leave the room and crawl into bed with my parents. Around this time my parents divorced and I moved with my mother to another state. I never saw it again. It was very real, I was awake, and was amazed when I first saw online that other people experienced the same thing.... real validation. As an adult, I saw a medium who told me if I ever saw someone standing over me at night not to be scared, that it was trying to communicate with me.... I could only think, "WOW." I am 52 now.. no Freddy Kruger around then to influence me... it is real. I was definitely scared, but am not sure I can say it was evil. Who wouldn't be scared at seeing a shadow man standing over them and staring at them in the middle of the night in their bedroom. I wish we all had answers since so many of us have experienced this.

@@Protectra it used to happen to me often. one of my recurring visitors was a pale faced, black-haired lady who would put her face 2 inches away from mine and just smiled and stared me in the eyes. One day I just smiled back and matched her energy, after that I haven’t had sleep paralysis since.

Ive encountered it once, was 6 years of age something woke me up while sleeping in my parents bed i started crying as i seen the figure by their wardrobe which woke my mother up at that point it slowly faded, it got played off as it does but it makes perfect sense now, definitely an entity from another place & time maybe even dimensional entity
I saw him last night. I've seen shadow people before and knew the hat man existed . But damn that was crazy at least I just saw the shadow of him.... I have been shaking for almost thirteen hours.
The Hat Man lives in my attic, sometimes he stands in the shower behind me when I pee, and he usually watches me sleep... Ngl it kinda scares because my wife doesn't see him ever

I’ve seen him three-four times.. the scariest was when I was seven. My stepdad was really abusive, and did even worse things now that I’m older and finding out, but one night I heard scratching and the doorknob to my closet was wiggling around, and then it slung open.. I then watched the hat man walk out of my closet and stand there staring out me. He looked the same way that everyone else described.. tall, collared duster, and a hat with no eyes.. just shadow. Terror swept my body, I was catalyzed.. couldn’t move, or scream. I finally threw the blanket over my head, felt like hours had passed, and I threw the blankets off me, and it was RIGHT THERE. Next to me. I screamed, and ran like hell to my mom.
The next day, after school my mom took me in my room to “investigate”, when I wasn’t paying attention she quickly ran out and shut the door, and held it so I couldn’t get out.. while I was beating the door, and screaming crying. Such a traumatic experience for me.

I seen this man when I was 12 but I could move..it was around 3 and I would wake up and my doorknob would slowly turn and this man around 7 foot with no face features walked in with a hat and stood on corner of room. I was so scared I would cover my face up. It happened for weeks and I told my teacher and my parents and they laughed at me and told me it was my imagination. And to this day I’m terrified of the dark and being alone in the dark. I’m 34 now and I remember it like it was yesterday.
I seen the hat man once It was so quick that this should be a short story. I got up to brush my hair before bed so stood up to stand in front of my mirror 🪞 and seen the hat man sitting at my kitchen table staring at me. I turned around so quickly to look behind me and there was nobody there even when I turned back around to look into the mirror.... Nothing. I was terrified and didn't sleep well that night. I was about 8 years old. The hat man was wearing this trenchcoat and was a pitch black solid figure. I can tell he was tall even tho he was sitting down. I'm so flabbergasted that I'm not the only one who has seen this figure.

Interesting, I'm 62 years old and sometime around the age of between 8 and 11 I saw a black figured man with a black hat in day light. I was traveling with my aunt and uncle who I lived with from Southern Calif (La Puente) to Fresno, Ca when somewhere on the North bound I-5 before the Grapevine I saw this figure of a white man dressed all in black with a blk hat, I can't remember if he was hitch hiking, but tend to think not. What was interesting and scary about this individual is that he stared at me, and had no expression on his face, at first I thought it nothing but than several miles down the road he appeared which seemed odd, considering we were out in front of him. I assumed he could have gotton a ride with a fast driver who could have passed us up and dropped him off up the road ahead of us, and thus, appear as he did, but then it happened again in a matter of miles. It startled my Aunt and made me wonder to no ends, but the figure and situation seemed ominous.
I saw this guy like six times. When I was watching this 7 year old girl I would sleep in the living room when her mom worked a 24hr shift as a nurse. I saw it in her doorway and the next day he was closer to me standing in the hallway, then another day he was standing in the kitchen door way across from the couch. I turn around on the couch and pretend like I didnt see it. I felt it standing over me and I turned around and felt like I was getting choked out. I was like flailing and everything. I gasped “I can’t breathe! Stop it.” And it backed away and just stood there and disappeared back into the kitchen doorway. The next night, I saw him back in the hallway just staring. I don’t think it was going to come closer out of fear of choking me. My family does suffers from narcolepsy and sleep paralysis, but I know it wasn’t something like that because I blatantly moved.
I was about 6 yrs old maybe close to 7. I remember playing a 45 of rubber ducky you're the one at that time, Sesame Street in my room. Just a memory I associate with what happened. We had a split level home. I was in bed for the night top floor and I saw this man at the foot of my bed post right side corner standing tall with a wide brimmed hat and long trench coat. I saw his hands which looked like long decreped(sp) fingers resting by his side. I read another post about a pocket watch which is triggering me but i cant really remember for sure. I didnt see the eyes, it was a semi side profile just slightly turned. I was terrified and completely paralyzed drenched in sweat. Closed my eyes praying for him to go away. I gathered up the courage to peek and he had left. I screamed for my mother. She called the police because of my reaction. Thought there was an intruder in the house. Who is this guy and what is his purpose? This has been bothering me lately. 40 some years later. Strange how I've forgotten/past it off all these years. Im really wanting other people's point of view as to what this could mean as I'm looking for an explanation. Why me? Now I find it's us. There's got to be a connection. I have not seen him since

I’ve had sleep paralysis on and off for the last two years… and now I am separated from my soon to be ex-husband with our two boys and our family is dissolving, and it started again. I never saw anything until this most recent time, and i was very surprised to google this and see that many others are having similar experiences… this is terrifying.
I've these things several times in my life. They don't seem human and I don't know what they are but I think of them as misery vampires, feeding off our misery. When your fear turns to anger, you will be able to get rid of them.

I saw him as a teenager. I dreamt about seeing him in a street near to where I lived. In my dream I knew that if I saw him, I had to run away as fast as possible. His face was grey and skeletal. Deep sunken dark eyes. The next day I was walking home up the same road & saw him stood far away up the street. His hat was covering his face completely. He just stood still with his head down. His trench coat was long. His hat and coat were a light colour though, not dark like everyone says. I ran home as fast as I could. I was absolutely terrified. I was home alone for an hour or two until my parents got back from work. I thought after that incident that he scared me deliberately to get me to go home asap. Maybe I was in danger from someone or something else & he was telling me to get out of there? IDK.

I think I saw him when I was 14. I was living with my estranged brother for a few months, and my parents were over seas, and I would always see a man in a trench coat and large broad brimmed hat, like in an old detective movie, standing under the lamp light in the ally way behind the apartment. He never moves, or said anything, just stared at me. I couldn't see his eyes or face, but I always knew he was staring directly at me waiting for something.
I always assumed it was a shadow person, because I've seen them too a couple times but they never have clothing, so it always stood out in my memory

Both my mother and I experienced him separate times... several times. She hated him and I cried myself to sleep a lot as a kid xause of him...
I remember the Hatman. It was only when I was in my parents bed. The son of a bitch would just stand in the doorway. There was no source of light to make a shadow. He was just darker than the dark. Sometimes I had a dog with him. Not always though. To this day the dog perplexed me. I've dealt with many shadow people since then but I've never seen a shadow dog except with Hatman. I have seen Hatman since we left that house.
Hatman turned out to be my neighbor Harold. Old creepy Harold, that outfit had me fooled throughout my youth.

I used to have sleep paralysis issues. For me it always felt like an entity would try to sleep with me or pull me out of my body. First it started happening in dreams then when I woke up.
I've seen top hat man once. I was at my dad house refusing to fall asleep because I was scared it would happen again. It happened while I was wide awake once I was refusing sleep. And I saw him sitting on the ledge of the window. A black figure with the top hat just watching me struggle.

My first encounter was when I was a teenager. My brother and my cousin was with me in the bathroom playing bloody Mary. After we finished I looked at my bathroom window and saw a man with a hat on flash in and out 3 times on the curtain. My bathroom window was very high.
My 2 oldest would see him often when they were younger and called him the tall ugly man and said he had a hat on. On November 30, 2021 my twins had an experience over in the night and my son said something told him to pray because something was going to kill him. His energy was being drained. He's a teenager and hates sleeping in his room. I used my new dowsing rods to show where it was hiding and it kept pointing in his corner. We took pictures and I did a spiritual cleansing. Today my son showed me one of his pictures and sure enough there was a man in his corner with a hat on and it seemed like a wing. I am now looking into this strange phenomenon again. I believe it is very evil.

I had encounter with the hat man when I was around eight years old. I remember waking up in the morning and all I could see is just black and I slept in the same room as my brother and was not able to see him or his bed but every where else I could see like the walls the dresser etc. So I then start to look up and I can see this talk man all in black wearing a trench coat and a fedora hat and that’s when suddenly I hear loud thunderstorms so I immediately turn to my left to the direction of where the window was and it was sunny out so I found that to be very strange and when I turned to look back the other way he was still there. I was so scared I couldn’t move or scream but after about 45 sec to a min i some how broke free from paralysis but still very terrified and ran right through him and as I did that I turned around and saw him disperse in thin air. I'm not sure how to start this but here it goes about 5 years ago no maybe four and a half years ago when we first moved in to the duplex on 18th Street in Bedford Indiana. I started seeing this black figure, a silhouette with the top hat. At first I thought I was seeing things, so I just blew it off. Then a couple of years went by still seeing this figure from time to time. I ran across or I ran into a friend of mine and a young guy he's still in where I'm living. She said he moved in a hurry without any explanation and that his mother had to move his belongings out because he would not return to do so. So at that moment I knew I wasn't going crazy seeing this black figure at my door at night bedroom door that is he would stand there and just stare at me for hours I did not hear him speak or see his face. Many nights he was there. Sometimes I would put my head underneath the sheet and cover and fall asleep. One day I had a friend over it wasn't late at night but it was dark we were in the living room watching TV and visiting. We both heard or thought we heard people talking outside but when we went outside no one was there no one was walking or even close to the house so we went back in. Later before she left we were walking through the kitchen and the kitchen table moved away from the wall with no explanation I was immediately scared and I told her what I had seen the years before night after night. Then I was telling my son and daughter about what I was experiencing. A blessed they come and blessed house hoping that this would take care of the demons. It worked for a while but then the man in Black with the top hat started appearing again. I go see a therapist and I have told him everything that I have seen, and I told family members even my husband. My husband he said he believed that what I believed I seen I seen. But to him there was no such thing. Matter of fact he thought I was back on drugs. I saw this stone cold sober every time, I was never high when I seen a black figure with a tall black hat that looks like a Amish man I thought. I never thought that it meant any harm but later did I find out that it was a bad demon in the past 4 years I have encountered him quite often. And he is very very real. This next part I'm reluctant to say because it hurts so bad. But two days before Christmas I lost my husband to this black figure man (demon) with a top hat. My husband did not believe in him like I said before. But we were arguing and my husband got up from the floor which we were sitting in, and move quickly to our bedroom and got a gun which I did not know was there. I tried to stop him, he was not a big guy so any other time I would have been able to. I tried and when I tried to stop him I ripped his shirt and he did not budge he turned around and looked straight at me and in a second I saw something it was not him. I shouted I screamed telling him not to do it, his eyes were totally black I could see straight through there the gun went off my husband fell to the floor like someone had dropped him. He did not die right away it was hours later. But anyone who questions man a figure in Black with a top hat it is real!

I used to see the hatman when I was just a kid (5-6-¿7? years old). He wore what seemed to be a dark trench coat and a dark hat. The coat had a lighter tone than the hat, but both dark and perfectly silhouetted. He always arrived at my bedroom door and stood there for a while, he never came close to me. I was totally terrified, couldn't say a word or scream, I just lied on my bed looking at this thing in total horror peeking at it from just above my covers. After a while I could see him go away, two or three times. At other times I could sense his arrival, I knew that he was coming, and I could feel the horror rushing up on me, crushing my body and soul, totally sure that he was coming and there he arrived, frantically full of horror, but then it always stopped at the door, as if checking himself, as if he couldn’t go past that line, stood at the right corner and started watching me, for a quite a while, but not all the time, he sometimes looked sideways, moving his head slightly. If he had come closer, that is what I most feared, I think I would have died of sheer terror. I told my mother what I had seen more than once, I could see she was worried, but as it didn’t happen every day, she used to somehow forget about it, but it was still there. She asked me why I didn’t call her. I said I just couldn’t, I was horrified. I remember that I could move though, and the last times I saw him, what I managed to learn somehow to do was hid or tuck myself under the sheets and blankets and just wait for a while till I could fall asleep, I never checked what he did, or when he went away at those times, because I kept tucking myself till I woke up in the morning. I remember these visitations as the scariest moments of my childhood. I can also remember that the last time I tucked myself in, always curling up under the covers, I was not so scared as I used to be. I wonder if that's why he didn't show up anymore.
I used to have terribly recurring nightmares or visions at that age. One of the worst was when I began to feel, and it felt real, I was falling into a kind of what I now could compare to a black hole (like a space black hole), and could not stop it, that was the most horrific moment, when I knew that I could not stop it, spinning around at an ever increasing speed and going deeper and deeper into the void, black hole, which used to get narrower and narrower, and the speed was finally so extremely fast that it made me lose consciousness. Every time this happened to me I thought it was death. Ever since then, I have always thought death may be something of the sort. But the last times this happened to me I did not lose consciousness and I could see horrible things on my way down (too long to tell), and I thought I was really dying. On one occasion after the fall into the endles abyss, I found myself lying on a cold dark floor in an otherworldly place with dark, heavy walls and looking like a dungeon. It felt like I was deep down in hell, and would stay there forever. That was one of the saddest moments in my life, a truly ineffable feeling. I remember I stood up, it was real, I couldn’t believe this was happening, I was sad, crying, started walking, not knowing where I was or where to go, just trying to find a way out in total desperation, in semi-darkness I was able to follow a direction to my left, there was a huge dark wall on my left side that rose to an unfathomable hight and one dungeon after the other on my right side. Then I crossed a threshold and I was walking in an upward direction, I sensed that I was approaching what looked like a huge cavern, I began to hear terrible screams and cries, and perceive a red glow and feel heat. I just didn’t want to see anymore, I just didn’t want to see, I just couldn’t, it was total desperation and then, not knowing how, I lost my senses and woke up in my bed in the morning and I couldn’t believe it. I was so, so happy. I think that was the last night I had such a bad experience. I might have been 6-7 years old then and now that I come to think of it, they were horrendous nightmares or whatever they were for a child my age. I would like to know if someone else has had visions or nightmares like to the ones I had. It would be soothing for me, although it happened a long time ago, way back in the 70s. What I am sure of is that a child’s brain must be an incredible organ of which we hardly know anything. Thank God all these visions stopped such a long time ago.

As a child back in the 1960s i had dreams of the hat man coming out of the closet with a knife and i would wake up before he came near me.
I’ve seen the hat man twice. One time I was dreaming and I was in my room with my sister. The light was off in my room but the hallway light was on and my door was open. She looked scared and started pointing at the door. I wanted to show her nothing was there so I stepped outside my door and looked down the hall and saw him standing there in the hall by the bathroom door. I started collapsing in fear and tried to grab my parents door knob because it was right across from my room. The second time I was in a tent with my boyfriend. I was in sleep paralysis and couldn’t move. He was standing by the doorway of the tent. I whispered to my boyfriend, “do you see that”? He replies yes. And then he stands up and is about to hit him with a bat and then I wake up. Never seen him since, i think my boyfriends spirit scared him away! He’s been seen all over the world he is absolutely a demonic entity that feeds off fear. Im not sure it’s actually the same being everytime, or ifs it’s just using the shadow, hat and trench coat as a disguise.

I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was very young, but when I was around 7-8, I saw the hat man in the door way of my bedroom and I remember screaming for my mom but she didn't come running like she always always did every other time I ever had a bad dream or got scared, my bedroom door was right next to hers...I remember getting to the point of panic and at that point, I remember something calming come over me and I laid back and pulled the covers over my head, after that it was the next morning and I asked my mom why she didn't come when I called for her and she said that she never heard me, so I'm assuming the hat man had blocked me from her....but I definitely remember becoming very calm and laying back....in my heart, I believe the demons knew that I was getting ready to give my life to Jesus and wanted to stop it, and that the Lord sent my angels to me that night and they calmed me down, put me to sleep and that my angels whooped that demons butt. I'm 54 now and never told anyone about this because I just thought it was only me that it happened to, until the internet came out and I was doing some Bible studying through YT...I couldn't believe that others had seen this POS...I can't wait to get to heaven and find out what all this is about...

Fax. I’ve been having dreams about to hatman since I was a kid I would have them every couple years and it was presented to me that that man is devil himself and I think he looks for people that he can sway. He did exactly what you said. He stood in the doorway to my bedroom.

Yes I saw it. I'm 47 years old..Till this day I will never forget. I was 12 or 13, sleeping over my brother's house. My whole family was in the living room partying. I was in one of the rooms in the house. Just as I was dozing off, something told me to move the curtain or blind behind the bed, because the headboard was facing the patio out back. I was trembling, but I had to open it because I felt something was there. Call it intuition. It was a dark tall figure with a black rimmed hat and a long black coat. I couldn't stop looking I felt paralyzed I couldn't even scream, like it's eyes and my eyes locked. I was so scared and sweating. I couldn't see it's feet either, as of it was just there floating and the face area was dark, i dont even knew if it had a face, but i could feel the piercing look. But I knew it was nothing good. It felt evil. Finally, I was released from it, but i went under the covers, afraid to move them i thought he was going to be right there. Finally my mouth worked and my body moved, and I yelled so hard. My mom came in and I told her about it. But as parents do, you were dreaming. I couldn't sleep, I ended up going to the next room to sleep with my nephew. I will never forger ever. Years and years later, when I was about 21 years old, a friend of my sister told me she saw the same thing in the front of her house, just standing there..Apparently, this thing moves around.

Dude. Yes. Thank you. He is a good man. Everybody assumes he is evil because it’s unlike anything they have ever seen and since it’s often dark, they naturally shift to fear. I think he is a great guy.

The first one sounds like an actual person who might have passed by on occasion, not the Hat Man. He probably saw the kid being disciplined and when the father called out he was just playing along, it’s almost humorous to me.
