First time hearing her. I don't know how to put it into words really, but the fullness of her tone, or the depth of it maybe, makes her voice feel approachable and near.
Jekalyn is crazy anointing. Believe it or not, she debuted at the tender age of 15/16 and was ministering like this. You should check out her song "Greater Is Coming".

I am so glad that this song has the word "big" cause she has the power and control to hit that "b" and really drive through the sound. It really makes the emotion of the song come out when it's supported by al the other work that she's doing.
Tara, question for you: I understand the improvisation, but I have never understood how singers signal back to the instrumentation about how to properly pick up the music at the next planned section. You had a video previous where there was a trio singing opera (I think) and they can't see the conductor. So the conductor added a beat at a moment to notify the singers when to end the sound. But how does it go the other way from the singer to the music like this?

I have been around hundreds of gospel musicians and the one thing I know is, they all (usually) play by ear ! So all they have to do is simply watch and listen to the lead singer and they just play right alongside them...also, with me believing in the Holy Ghost taking over I very much believe it’s the Spirit helping them follow as well.

Gospel player here, we definitely play by ear and just await the singer :) We also do it separately of each other, all band members should/can notice the next part of the song coming up based on what the singer does.

This was really incredible. I never heard of her before, so thank you for introducing her to me. Please review Sinach. She’s a Nigerian gospel singer who has a big head that she wrote called “Waymaker”. Too many North Americans don’t know that she’s the original writer and singer of that song. She also has other songs done in quarantine that you would love. And there’s another gospel singer whose name is “mercy” I believe. That woman is anointed!

Sinach has been blessed by God indeed. She’s not the most technically advanced singer but she’s received a lot of Nigerian Gospel anthems.

I’d say with a soaking in the culture and the history and the expression of gospel Music over time.
It’s also much more effective when there’s a genuine faith powering it all, then the Spirit of God helps to take it to a higher level.

I have never heard of her before, but wow the lyrics and her improvisational singing were just amazing, and as you stated "anointed." It made me feel as if I was taken to heaven and being in God's presence. That is awesome when a singer can have that effect on the listener, not only in gospel songs but also with any type of songs/genres.
