    When you compare FY1 salary with US PGY1, it is about the same. There is no on-call or overtime pay in PGY1, or any PGY numbers. Consultant-wise level, it is just below attending-wise level in VA hospitals, state funded or federal institutions. It takes a lot less years to be an attending, US term for consultants. Private physicians in US average $160-180k, but need to buy liability insurance, pay student loans, etc.

      If they earn lot they also have to spend a lot bcs Eu countries are way more expensive!
      After 5.5 yrs of study you actually don't do anything significant! Even a nurse can do your job so why pay more? You do 5.5yrs of study so you can study further and become a super speciality doctor then your pay will be unimaginable!

      As a Greek med student, I'm trying to figure out where to go after graduating med school. A surgical resident here earns about 1500 euros per month for about 70 (plus the hours that you do that you're not getting paid for) hours of work per week. After hearing that I knew that I didn't want to be in my country, if they're going to treat doctors this way. Many doctors from Greece emigrate exactly because they don't want to be slaves of our shitty hospitals that take advantage of everyone. This is hardly enough to provide for one person, let alone a family. The people who say that as a doctor you shouldn't care about having enough money to live a good life are deluded and privileged as fuck.

    I am Dr. Ishita Mondal, MBBS graduate in the year of 2020 from India.
    Currently I am working as a Resident Medical Officer in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. I will be moving to London in August’22.
    In parallel, I am planning to appear for PLAB (Part A) examination in 2023 and taking preparation for the same. I have few queries regarding PLAB and GMC to start my career at UK (London).
    It would be really helpful, if you can kindly clarify the queries below:
    • Can I work having dependent VISA as a doctor in London, whereas my husband will be holding ICT Tier2 skilled work VISA (LT)
    • Can I get any jobs in London as a MBBS graduate with only English test certification till I clear PLAB (both part A & part B) and get the GMC registration number? If yes, then how to start searching

    • @drmonishamishra
      @drmonishamishra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Yes. But only in non-training jobs. You need to be on your own Tier2 visa to apply for Training posts.
      2. You need to have GMC registration regardless to be applying for training or non-training jobs. You can not get jobs based on your English proficiency certificate. That doesn't certify where you are fit to practice Medicine in the U.K or not.
      Hope this clarifies the same.

    • @gloriaalva8781
      @gloriaalva8781 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Home. GPs make nearly the same salary as the hospital/specialist consultant. Only difference is they work in primary care. Some people prefer primary care and some prefer secondary care. Some dont like to do night shifts in the long run. As a GP, once you qualify you dont do nights . GP surgeries are not open at night. At most you would be doing long days as in 10 -12 hrs long day, usually 12 hrs. Plenty of private practice opportunities.

      Hey Tanisha.. I am not too sure about doing MBBS in the U.K. and the fees. Unfortunately, you will have to look up for this information elsewhere. I could only guide about working here/training here post MBBS as I can only speak from my own experience.

      @@drmonishamishra Hi mam
      Its been a pleasure viewing your videos for a while. Thanks for sharing your experiences and being transparent. I've got few doubts would you mind clarifying them...
      1. Is plab score like pass or fail? Doesn't it bother in which subject we wish to do training programme and masters?
      2. After passing plab I work at UK or learn MD as in India....exactly what happens after plab?
      3. Do I get stipend or should I pay any college fees?

      Dear Tanisha. Courses in MBBS do exist but they are expensive and cheapest , really cheapest would be 1 crore but it can be upto 2 crores and that is an expenditure you will have to self fund till you become FY1.

      Well, because I wanted to talk of the pay scale and not the tax bracket in this one. I’ll make a separate video talking of my payslip where I shall discuss of tax bracket, NI, pension etc. :)
