Remembering my childhood in the 80s, back when MTV was the source, back when Molly Ringwald was the ultimate girl crush, back in the day when Harry sang this in his sold out concerts and when this song topped the charts for almost a year.
I remember my mom was at his concert in 84 and her friend was dancing with the lighter and her hair caught on fire and he rushed in to put it out. No severe burns though. He also lectured them about using hairspray and how flammable they are. My dad also was there at the concert and thanked him for saving my mom's friend. Those were good times and she had her poster of Harry Styles hanging in her bedroom.
This song brings back some crazy memories of fun times back in the 80s. I remember seeing him at my local mall back in 86 - he was so cool! Harry's music will always be a huge part of my life. If he hadn't broken up with George Michael then maybe they'd both still be with us today. It was so hard seeing his world spiral into drugs and public indecency scandals. Such a tragic loss. 🙏

This caused an absolute media frenzy due to so many people wanting to buy the song even though it wasn’t commercially available. Harry decided to partner with A-ha again, this time to do an official mashup/duet of As It Was and Take On Me. The song is still a banger to this day. Also we can’t forget about Harry’s high profile relationship with Molly Ringwald in 1987. People freaked out because she was only 19 and the ultimate girl crush, and people didn’t want her to “grow up so fast”. She really wasn’t the same after Harry passed away.
