- Dear friends,
Thank you for your patience with my posts.
It is a new sight to be on TH-cam...
I realize I am speaking quickly in some areas, so please turn on captions or follow through the transcript. Thank you ✨

I feel fortunate that TH-cam suggested your video to me. It’s quite different than all of the other Japan-related content I watch here. I am excited to see your story unfold and anticipate experiencing a part of Japan that I haven’t seen before and do not understand, in the hopes of broadening my perspective on its unique culture. Being a non-Japanese speaking Nikkei, I’ve only recently gotten more interested in my heritage, so this was really wonderful to find.
Hello :) Thank you for finding me. The algorithm seems to know how to connect like-minded people. I hope there will be something interesting you can learn from here ✨
@@Geikohina yes, my TH-cam feed is filled with 90% Japanese-related material. I'm certainly looking forward to your next video. Have a great week!
Same here (except I’m not Nikkei) my feed is full of jp-related videos and this just popped up at the top of my feed. Well done algorithm! 🎉
You have this calming and lovely presence. I really enjoyed your story. You're a wonderful storyteller 😊
She is extremely generous. She has this gentle & confident kinda vibe to her. I love it! I aspire to be like you! 🎀❤🤍
Thank you for being here ♡
Even on IG, I have noticed that this experience has had a profound effect on you! I have no point of reference from before you going to Kyoto to make an overall opinion, but your demeanour and the calmness of your voice suggests it! 😊
youtube suggested your video and i must say i was blown away from the very first minutes by your grace and beauty and the way you spoke. already subscribed and will be waiting patiently for new videos. the topic of geiko is so subtle overall, moreover it's complex in modern setting so I'm really excited for everything you are willing to share. sending love from Ukraine 💛
Hello ♡ Thank you for understanding the complexities behind the topic. It's both an unspoken topic as well as a personal (emotional) journey so it's a lot I think through all the time. Thank you for your care and thoughtfulness ♡
My thoughts are with you in Ukraine. ☮️
Congratulations on your first video, Hina! Thank you for opening up and sharing your incredible journey with us. I've always been captivated by Japanese culture, and your story adds even more depth to my appreciation. Looking forward to seeing more from you!
Hello, Sisu ♡ Thank you for your kind words. You have silent vlogs! I look forward to watching them ✨
Looking forward to your next video. Thank you for sharing your experience.😊
Thank you for being here ✨
This story told by you is different from all I could see either here on TH-cam or in any news. I grew up loving Japan always and respected people from that country, so as their culture, food and language. (study Japanese too ). I feel honored to see such story, even if those stories are part of your private life, something you have experienced, something nobody can take from you, I have nothing but high respect for you Mayu -San. I hope to see more stories from you from your own perspective and yes in one of your clips finally a problem with tourism and Kyoto Geisha district has been addressed the way it should be. People forgot about culture and manners, thinking yea I am entitled to everything, so "I can do what I want, no you can't." If you are in someone else's country respect people the way you wanna be respected in your own country... By the way and out of curiosity Geisha's /Geiko clothes must be very heavy to wear... I 'd like to see in the future clips maybe about how do make up and clothes happens, tea ceremony and the dance lessons.
I am looking forward to listening to your tale. Thank you for sharing it with the world.
❤🎉おめでとう! I'm glad to see you here too. I love your politeness and soothing voice. And beautiful video quality.
It'd be really interesting to see a video of the difference between common Japanese, Kyoto dialect and Geiko and Geisha way of speaking.
Hello :) Thank you for being here. Your content looks really helpful for Japanese learners! And noted about the dialect part 🙆
I'm so glad you're finally here. Thank you for sharing ❤
Hello, Krystal ♡ Yayy thank you for being here ❤
Congratulations on your first youtube video! I found this video without any prior knowledge of you or the culture you're sharing about but I'm really glad I found it. Nowadays there is so much information at our fingertips and it can be very overwhelming. I miss spending more time living. I miss waiting and doing things slowly and not being constantly entertained. I'm glad to se someone sharing themselvs and their experiences in this way on this platform and I look forward to seening what else you want to shrare. That being said don't share anything you don't want to and don't rush yourself. I wish you luck on your journey!
Hello, and thank you for finding me 😭
Your comment is so well written, I reread it a couple times. Yes, we are constantly entertained….and for what? It isn’t really ourselves, because we’re losing connection with what’s physically in our lives and right in front of us.
Thank you for bringing up an important point 😊
Thank you for sharing you story!! I admire you ❤
Thank you ♡
Thank you for sharing, I hope to learn even more about this world from you 💜
Your insights are excellent. Thank you for sharing 😊
And thank you for being here! ✨
TH-cam recommended this, it's very interesting. Cannot wait to hear first hand experience about the geisha life and cultural history!
Thank you very much. I was very pleased to stumble across your video, and now I'm subscribed and settling down to hear/see your story. It is so enriching to us to look through opened doors into others' lives, to who we could have been. Thank you thank you

Welcome to TH-cam Hina san.
I remember how i stumbled on your Instagram account by chance, and i immediately was amazed about the stories yiu share, and also - your journey to becoming a Geisha.
I remember when i shared my story of how i first learned about Japan, and you were amazed by it, and even asked to share it with your viewers on which i am really greatfull for it.

After listening to your life's experiences and emotional momentums . It's going much deeper and it's really touching my heart hearing you talking about your feelings and those traditional procedures and ceremonies.
To me it's very precious and somehow it has an effect on my life also.
Thanks Mayuhina
Hello Luke T___T Thank you for understanding and feeling what I'm saying beneath my words.
@@Geikohina I think I watched your video anout1000 times😂😂 and I can see changes of gestures in you that are very impressive. Devotion and Humility! Characteristics that are no longer present in this world.
Somehow that new Mayuhina becomes special. There's an atmosphere of mysticism around you and I am looking forth to more of the new Mayuhina!

@@Geikohina I always get an image of an "fragile beauty" when I see you in the way you act or talk. Is it part of geikohina? Just like a fragile "Shoubu" flower. Okay, it's bedtime here and you have a great day!☺️😂
Thank you for your trust in the TH-cam community to share your personal story. 🌸
Thank you.... I was hesitant about starting TH-cam because I was nervous to show myself in front of a new crowd, but everyone has been so kind T_T

Good luck and congratulations on your TH-cam channel 🎉🎉🎉
Ahh thank you! T_T
@Hina-san Arigoto gozimasu for sharing your story! A few years back I had the chance to get in contact with an okiya in Kyoto. I was offered the chance through a Japanese lady's connections. But I unfortunately had to turn it down, in a big part due to my heath. When I was younger I wanted to be one so bad. I would have done it back then. But life takes us on a rollercoaster weather we want it or not. Thank you so much for sharing. Qujanarrussaq! (Thank you very much in Kalaallisut Greenlandic "Eskimo" language)
Found this on my recommended page and I love your story.

Your manner of speaking is incredible, it's overtly clear you're speaking in alignment with yourself. Anyone who can do that, never mind undertaking such an intimidating path in pursuit of meaning, are bound to go far in life.
I've subscribed, and I'll be sure to check in again. 頑張ってね!
"alignment with yourself" T_T
I wouldn't really have an audience if it weren't for observant and keen individuals such as yourself. So こちらこそ thank you ✨
For now my thoughts are mixed. Good mixed. But please just keep doing TH-cam because I found Instagram not to be healthy. I was following you there but I deleted my account. So glad you are here now.
I am very much looking forward to your next videos about your experience . Greetings from France.

I, too, was born in another country. I moved to the States and became naturalized. I've traveled to Europe every summer. But culturally I resonate with that of Japan. 🇯🇵

@@Geikohina as a big fan of Japan, I appreciate what you do!
Thanks for sharing, it is interesting and I hope to learn more about the geiko world from someone who actually was there and not from click baiting half fake stories
Dear Mayuhina, thank you for sharing your story and experience with us, both here and on IG. I find it beautiful and captivating!
Personally I feel drawn to the Japanese culture because of my upbringing, which is considered strict (I never felt that way though). Living in a European country that is considerd rude and improper by it's neighbouring countries, it makes me feel out of place. The more I learn about the Japanese culture, the more I feel it could be my home... though I'd probably stand out as a Westerner in many ways.
Looking forward to your next video. With love and respect, Eshter
Hello Esther ♡ Thank you for your thorough message and sharing about your culture. I am glad to hear you feel connected to Japanese culture. I will do my best to share more about it so there's something more you may be able to feel/learn. Please take care ✨

Thank you! I used to always be INFJ but since I started Instagram, the results consistently show INFP 😂What is yours?
@@Geikohina I think INFJ describes you perfectly❣️❣️I am ISFJ this month….I think I’m a bit confused 🤔🤣😂🤣 I watched the Miyako and Kyo Odori last month two and three times respectively last month and each show only got better. I will be going back to Kyoto for two performances of the Kamogawa Odori next week. 🥰😌 You could say that I am a bit of a Hanamachi fan.🙇🏻🙇🏻
@@nelsonchar808 "I am ISFJ this month" hahahha
I hope you enjoy the Pontocho performance! ✨
@@Geikohina I was guessing you were INFP (I'm) but on a superficial plane INFJs and INFPs are similar and often mistyped. My guess from the way you speak is that you are an INFP. (But I have mistyped INFJs as INFPs before) You show a lot of Introverted Feeling (Fi) Taking a leap into something like becoming a Geiko shows a lot of the auxiliary cognitive function Extroverted Intuition (Ne). In contrast, the INFJ has as the dominant cognitive function Introverted Intuition (Ni)where the introverted feeling function is a judging function the feeler judges from something you might call morality or core values but more like feelings. It's very subjective, or it makes judgments from the self. While Introverted intuition is a perceiving function and are in a way more open in how they relate to information . INFJs auxiliary function is Extroverted Feeling, while INFPs is Extroverted Intuition. Both types are often called empathetic, being able to understand other peoples feelings. In the INFJ it's more the auxiliary function that enables them to feel other people's feelings. While INFPs use their dominant function Introverted Feeling to empathize, and are able to understand others because they have a rich understanding of their own internal emotional life, but this can also lead to that they can't understand or misunderstand others. In a way, INFJs take in things directly, while INFPs look inside them self to feel what others feel. The INFJ is less conscious of why they perceive something is in a certain way, with their dominant function whlie the INFPs are more conscious about their judging function based on subjectivity. Sorry for the long comment.
@@Ry8 Wow, I read this over a couple of times so I could understand...
You are a deep thinker.
Interesting..."INFPs look inside themselves to feel what others feel".
I will keep your words in mind moving forward.

Hello Hina-san, I'd like to ask as a new subscriber, if you could explain in a future video or short the difference between a maiko-san, geiko-san and geisha-san?

Please teach us Konpira in an upcoming video, if you're allowed.
Why did you stop being a Geiko? Didn't you like it anymore?
You speak English exactly like a geiko san speaks Japanese with a particular cadence and head movement.
It’s interesting that you noticed that 🤔
I’m hoping to have a Japanese wife some day
Why did you exclude seemingly everything in order to, " be " something? Why does one at all need to become anything? Does one need to become anything? It is a sickness to feel like one needs to become something as that feeling that is created by man's thought, pervades everything. I just am. Why is that not enough? It is dangerous to become. You already are. Do you ever become that thing you said you will become? It is just conditioning. We are all conditioned in some manner or another. Yes, everyone is. It just is different from one to another. Can you observe your conditioning without letting it consume you? Can one observe his or her conditioning without being confined to it completely? Can you simply be aware that you are conditioned? Do it
I understand that Geisha is important to you. I am not disputing that. I am just asking you why you decided to do Geisha. What prompted you to drop everything, and go after Geisha? Did something happen to you before you decided to do Geisha, and then event spurred you into the Geisha direction? Where there direction, where there is a motive, there is no space in the brain. The brain needs space to operate fully, no? So, therefore, when one has not direction that one is going in, there is infinite space in the mind. It is endless. Whereas, the mind when there is a direction, that mind is limited, and therefore there is less space for that mind to see. It's bandwidth is being used up by the direction, that one is going. In this limitation, you will notice that in all limitation, there is conflict. That is a fact! When I see these facts of life, not explained to you as a child, when I see them plain as day, my mind is agile, quick, and not able to be cornered, because I am a light to myself. If it is one thing in the world to do, is be a light to yourself, and let no other lights interfere with your light. That is the great secret to life's recipe no one will ever tell you. I did. You are welcome, all those who see these facts.
For me personally, I use my youtube channel to express myself openly and honestly whether or not people like it or not. It is not my life's work to please, but to remain as honest to I am as possible. This is how new things get made, not by pleasing and following what everyone else is doing. If it is that for you, it is Seppuku
Welcome to TH-cam I found your channel on IG and in 1hr you've already got 128 subs wow. Can't wait to see your channel grow 😊
