- Ein zwei Monate alter asiatischer Elefant im Zoo Leipzig, noch ohne Namen. Da sich seine Mutter Hoa nicht um ihn kümmert, wird der kleine Vietfant derzeit mit seinen Tanten Don Chung und Rani vergesellschaftet. Und er ist sehr anhänglich zu den Tierpflegern, was hier im Video zu sehen ist...

These elephants should be set free. The zoo keepers seem heartless. One of them pushes away the baby twice and later keeps moving away as the baby approaches him.
These guys should learn from 'Lek' of Elephant park. Thailand and the keepers at Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, Africa.
How much love these babies need, one can understand from watching their videos.
Their society is similar to human society. The babies need nannies.

The mother has rejected him, two aunties have accepted, but they didn't care so much. He has been hand feeded by milk formula for elephants.
But unfortunately after a while his liver parameters were not all right, he didn't eat well any more, became very weak and died.😱😡
Zoos are no place for elephants, how awful that they must have that tiny area and have people looking at them everyday and the noise of people everyday is terrible. I also see sticks and chains! I pray these elephants can go to a proper elephant sanctuary where they can have a decent life!

I can’t stand animals in zoos, especially elephants! They need room to exist, not a tiny area, especially for a baby! Talk about sensory deprivation.

@@truthseeker4452 dude shut up - you have no damn clue what you are talking about. These are expierencend zoo keepers and they are not "cold hearted" - they tried to push Ben Long to interact more with actual elephants and not with humans - they didn't want him to imprint too much on humans.

Our little baby finally has a name "Ben Long" it means fighting thru adversity" somewhere along the line this 4 mo old lost his Mother, I haven't heard or read about that yet, so the bonding has been hard for all of them, but they r coming around💕💕💕

I think, The baby elephant is bored and doesn't know what to do. No toys, no inspiration.The baby elephant seems apathetic to me.it needs play. It is very sad. Three breeders are running there and...nothing.

And why are they feeding him bottle process milk. Da seine Mutter ihm die Liebe nicht gibt, müssen die Pfleger als Ersatz diesem kleinen Eli ihre Liebe geben, solange... Bis die Tanten ihn aufnehmen, und das hoffe ich sehr. 👍🍀🐞
Der kleine Zwerg würde meine ganze Liebe bekommen, wenn ich Tierpflegerin wäre ❤😚. Finde es immer traurig das manche Elefantenkälber von ihren eigenen Eltern abgestoßen werden, aber so ist das nun mal in der Natur!

Because his mother rejected him. He is hand feeded by humans with milk formula.
But unfortunately he died after 8 months (on 30. of September 2019.).
@@Dnvr8083 so sad ! As instinctive and protective as these mothers all that all of a sudden we see all of these pages of videos where surprisingly they are all rejected. With the exception of the mothers who died naturally or were poached . No offense but take a look every elephant channel babies and more babies “ rejected “ yet science says they will sue protecting their young ! Unless they have been broken emotionally or have no motherly instinct due to being raised solo in captivity. I don’t know this my be true for this baby but it can’t be true that in the small amount of elephants that we have left on earth they don’t want their babies all of a sudden

Das ist leider der letztes Jahr verstorbene Bên Lòng... Vom dieses Jahr geborenen Kiran habe ich auch schon Aufnahmen, die müssen aber erst noch von meiner alten Festplatte gerettet und dann bearbeitet werden...

Ich war jetzt ewig nicht mehr auf TH-cam, hole daher die Info nach:
Bên Lòng - so wurde er später getauft - musste am 30.09.2019 im Alter von 8 Monaten
eingeschläfert werden.
Weil Elefantenmutter Hoa ihn verstoßen hatte, musste er mit Ersatzmilch versorgt werden. Der Zoo Leipzig
hatte deswegen ständig seine klinischen Werte im Blick. Schließlich verschlechterten sich Bên Lòngs Leberwerte und er nahm nur noch
wenig Nahrung zu sich. Sowohl die Leipziger Uni-Kinderklinik als auch das Zentrallabor der Universität Leipzig wurden zu Hilfe gezogen.
Leider trat keine Besserung ein...

Leider nein! Das ist noch Bên Lòng, der 2019 an einer Erkrankung der Leber gestorben ist. Dafür scheint es dem 2020 geborenen Kiran gut zu gehen, der wurde von seiner Mutter - in dem Fall Rani - angenommen... Aufnahmen von Kiran veröffentliche ich demnächst...

Every elephant keeper on the world has such an item, which is not a stick. They don't use it for beating. It is a hook they use to drive the elephant if necessary. A skilled elephant keeper makes use of it very seldom. It is a safety item on a working place.

Naja, ich denke immer daran, dass die alte Elefantenkuh-Herde Leipzig (inzwischen sind die 4 auf andere Zoos verteilt) 1984 aus Vietnam kam. Das waren keine Wildfänge, sondern die Töchter von Arbeitselefanten. Die Realität ist, dass in Vietnam, Thailand und Myanmar die Asiatischen Elefanten zumeist Arbeitselefanten sind. Frei lebende Elefanten gibt es dort kaum noch, da haben die Bauern was dagegen, dass Elefanten ihre Felder ruinieren. Leider! Solche Konflikte müssen erst gelöst werden, bevor Asiatische Elefanten dort ausgewildert werden könnten...

He should be in his own habitat with other elephants to play with and learn from how to be an elephant. Zoos are not God's plan for animals

It's not the zookeeper's choice! It is mandatory for elephant keepers in Germany!
The young elephant Ben Long was ill (liver) and he died at the age of nine months!
But the current young elephant Kiran is still healthy and 13 months old...
