Ahh, this made me tear up. I have a few wood thrush here on my land every year. I turned my family on to their beautiful song several years ago. It's the beginning of March 2024, and all the birds have been really singing in earnest now in the AM as our temperatures are starting to warm up but I didn't hear our wood thrush, and I came here and found out they migrated so far away. I had no idea. Now I know why I haven't heard the thrush yet....it's too early. Yes... it's the bird song I remember most from the middle of the summer. I'm in North GA on 12 acres surrounded by 100 acres of nature preserve. I'm now eagerly awaiting the return of our wood thrush, and I wish him safe travels.
Woow. I see this on 2022.. Also I see this beautiful friends at the Caribbean of my country Guatemala... During migration.. 🐦... They are Gorgeous. Also Swanson's Thrush. 😍 😍 😍
I saw one for the first time in ages yesterday and made a short video. Now I regret not recording as much as I could while I had this chance. At one point it made a quite pronounced bobbing motion which I happened to catch on the video.

Wonderful job on this film! I enjoyed learning more about the Wood Thrush. Always a favorite to see in my backyard here in NC.
