Just wanted to share that I started charging my phone away from my bed at night, and it has helped me so much with doom scrolling both before bed and when I wake up! I read on my kindle until I get sleepy now. Removing the ease of rolling over and grabbing my phone first thing in the morning has made my mornings SO much more productive. I finally get out of bed earlier and I actually can enjoy my morning instead of getting out of bed at like 11pm. Also, I noticed my overall mood has improved and my energy has increased in the mornings! If you struggle with spending all morning on your phone, I HIGHLY suggest charging your phone away from your bed where it’s inconvenient to go grab and get back into bed.

It’s too boring to just lay there and do nothing so you’ll find yourself getting up and actually doing things :) the whole “out of sight out of mind” thing with the phone really does work for me. This is similar to a yt vid i saw that it is really hard to not use our phones esp since we are in an era of technology and that it's hard to have a socmed break when your life also kinda needs it (ex. messenger for chatting schoolmates about an assignment, socmed for content creators) so the best thing is to lessen access to it. Such can be by removing apps that consume you the most in your phone and just opening them through your laptop (idk if this works for everyone but it did to me as my laptop does not give the same easy access as my phone). Whenever I need to review for a quiz, i hide my phone or put it in another room :>
Amber you should give yourself more credit ! This has been your first full year out of school and in NYC and you've done amazing. You've been producing so many great videos, doing the BTSP, traveling and sharing your experiences with us while also engaging in important matters such as charity and raising awareness. This year we've got to know you even more and i can't wait to see what life has in store for you as you continue to grow and learn. I have personally loved to see you cook, be the funniest person ever, support your siblings in every way you can and be the best daughter to your lovely parents. I wish happiness and good health to both of you girls :)

However, I've noticed it gets so much worse when I'm stressed/busy and didn't have time to "transition" to the task of having a conversation. It feels hard to actually listen while I'm doing anything else. I think one of my new year intentions is to give myself more in between or transition times.

Last year my resolutions were to start learning pool and going to more concerts. Nothing too crazy that I put a lot of pressure on! Just fun hobbies that’ll enrich my life

The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel -Will def change your perspective on money Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson -Talks about the hidden caste system in the US. ie: their race, gender, background, ethnicity Richest man in Babylon by George S. Clason -Short book but great value (less than 120pgs)
20:33 I had to remove tiktok and twitter from my iPhone to iPad due to storage!! (But kept Instagram and TH-cam since I don’t spend much time on them comparatively!) From my experience over the past year, it helped me reduce my urge to be on social media for half a year and I definitely spent less time, but I think I somewhat got back into the habit, basically just migrating the problem hahah

20:40 My phone broke about 1.5 years ago and I can't connect to wifi/bluetooth, so I use snap, insta, yt, ... on my iPad frr. And honest to god it is a game changer, like I can scroll on reels (I did't install TikTok on my iPad) if I want to if I'm at home, but in social settings I am almost never on my phone anymore. Also, I'm still able to use data so I can use google maps etc if I need to.
